Yet, she hadn’t expected that cooking dinner would turn out to be so difficult. Sighing, she went out with Li Mengjie.

Shaking his head, Leng Xuan began preparing dinner for the two young ladies. Before long, a sumptuous spread of delicious dishes was on the table, overwhelming the senses with their aroma. The young ladies, particularly Miss Li, who was starving by then, were tempted by the enticing scent, and eagerly picked up their chopsticks to eat.

Leng Xuan didn’t have much else to do, so he sat at the table, watching the two young ladies finish their dinner, ready to wait for them to eat and then clear the dishes.

Caught off guard by her words, Leng Xuan felt awkward. Although he was aware of Li Mengjie’s quirky nature, responding in front of Miss Li was not appropriate, or else he would definitely have flirted back. Wisely, he chose to remain silent, coughing twice as if he hadn’t heard.

"Sure!" Knowing the young girl was joking, Leng Xuan played along with a laugh, "As long as you dare to marry, I dare to take the plunge."

Hearing this, Li Mengjie rubbed her forehead in distress and said, "But Xuejiu and I made a pact. We would marry the same man; she would be the first wife, and I’d be the second. How about you make an effort to secure Xuejiu first? That way, you could kill two birds with one stone."
