"Who was that call from?" Zhao Xiaoqing was clearly unhappy about their passionate kiss with Leng Xuan being interrupted by a phone call.

Ling Xuejiu gave an ’oh’ and said, "Wang Shuze is coming to pick me up tonight to go to a party at Xiushui Mountain Villa. Since Leng Xuan isn’t here, you should come with me. As for dinner, let’s just grab something simple."

"Ah?" Li Mengjie’s eyes widened in surprise and she exclaimed, "Xue Jiu, you mean Wang Shuze invited you to a party?"

"What? Is there a problem?" Ling Xuejiu pursed her lips, her tone clearly annoyed as she said, "If you don’t want to go, forget it!"

"Hmm...!" Li Mengjie really didn’t want to go, but the thought of Xue Jiu going alone didn’t seem safe to her. After thinking it over, she nodded and said, "Okay, I’ll go! Hehe, I wonder what the Cold Bodyguard is up to now. Maybe we should invite him too. Otherwise, who will take us home if we get drunk?"

"Don’t you dare invite him," Ling Xuejiu rolled her eyes. Ever since she found out from Bei Yin that Leng Xuan liked Li Mengjie but not her, she’d been mad at Leng Xuan. She’d agreed to go to the party with Wang Shuze because she didn’t want to be the third wheel to Leng Xuan and Li Mengjie. Naturally, she wasn’t pleased with the idea of Li Mengjie inviting Leng Xuan, but she concealed her irritation and said, "If he goes, won’t that expose our relationship?"

"Ah?" Li Mengjie thought about it and realized it was true but still felt uneasy about two girls going to such a wild party. She said, "Xue Jiu, if we don’t invite the Cold Bodyguard, then who will take us home tonight?"

"Wang Shuze will pick us up, and he’ll definitely take us home afterward," said Ling Xuejiu.

Li Mengjie hummed in acknowledgment and said with a grin, "What if Wang Shuze gets too drunk to drive? What then?"

"Hmm?" Ling Xuejiu hadn’t considered this possibility and paused before saying, "Then we’ll drive ourselves there and just not drink tonight. Is that fine?"
