"A friend of mine."

Huo Xinya gazed at him, then after a moment of silence, she sighed and said, "Isn’t sister good enough to you? Why are you so fickle?"

Chen Nan was speechless.

Even though he didn’t have much to do with Hua Xiaoyan, his fickleness was, in fact, true.

Huo Xinya squatted down, brushed some dust off at the edge of a flower bed, and seated herself saying, "Do you know what she said to me over the phone?"

Chen Nan sat down too: "I’ve let her down."

"She didn’t blame you."

Huo Xinya shook her head, the aggravation in her tone seemed palpable: "You’re so fickle, repeatedly letting her down, and yet, she doesn’t blame you!"

Chen Nan nodded: "Everything you’re saying, I know. It’s just that I really can’t control myself from liking other women; it’s just like you know you shouldn’t like me, but you can’t resist the impulse in your heart. It’s the same thing."

After a moment of silence, she broke free from Chen Nan’s grip: "I’ll say it again, you are my brother-in-law!"

Watching Huo Xinya before him, Chen Nan shook his head and, with a firm pull, brought her into his embrace.

Suddenly embraced by Chen Nan, Huo Xinya briefly lost her composure before quickly struggling to free herself, "Chen Nan, what are you doing? Let go of me."

Regardless of Huo Xinya’s punches and kicks, Chen Nan simply would not let go.

"Slap!"

Huo Xinya slapped him across the face, and Chen Nan did not dodge.

Glaring at Chen Nan, Huo Xinya angrily said, "You’re nothing but a hooligan!"

Chen Nan paid no attention to her words, looked at her and said, "Yiyi even hopes that we will make up, why are you still being so stubborn?"

"What exactly do you want? There’s no chance for us!" Huo Xinya stared at him and angrily said.

Seeing her furious expression, Chen Nan also felt he was too impulsive just now.

After hesitating for a long time, he said, "I was too much just now; I didn’t consider your feelings. I apologize."

Huo Xinya gave him a cold look and said, "I accept your apology; I forgive you. Goodbye."

Having said that, she turned and left.

Watching her leave, Chen Nan didn’t chase after her but called out, "Does it have to be this way?"

Huo Xinya stopped in her tracks.

She turned her head back and seriously said, "We really don’t have a chance anymore. If you keep pursuing me like this, we can’t even be friends."
