School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master -
Chapter 581 - 651: The Girl Shi’er
Chapter 581: Chapter 651: The Girl Shi’er
Due to the retro style of the architecture, there was a huge central pillar in the middle of the room.
After Chen Nan ran inside, he found a white-clothed young girl tied to this pillar, who appeared to be around eighteen years old, with snow-white flawless skin and a slightly pointed chin, a typical fox-faced beauty.
Although her face had a rather bewitching appearance, she looked pure, just like a fairy from a painting, and what surprised Chen Nan even more was that she was wearing an ancient traditional dress.
"Whimper..."
Tears welled up and slid from the corners of her eyes, truly like pear blossoms bathed in rain—they were heartbreaking to witness.
"Young master, save me..."
Upon seeing Chen Nan, the girl quickly cried out for help, but her manner of address was that of ancient times.
Without time to think too much, Chen Nan quickly ran over, untied the ropes, and asked, "Who are you? Why are you here?"
"I am merely a country girl, visiting the city for the first time. Little did I expect to be forcefully taken by these thugs who intended to dishonor me. Fortunately, at the crucial moment, you came to rescue me, and I was spared from disaster. I will never forget your great kindness and generosity, young master!"
Chen Nan was utterly baffled.
What was all this about? What era was it to still use such outdated expressions?
"Stop, stop, don’t say anymore."
Chen Nan rubbed his temples, helplessly saying, "Where do you live? I’ll have someone send you back."
The girl gazed at Chen Nan with deep affection, as though looking at her beloved, and said, "My name is Shi’er, and I live in Wuling Mountain, but I’ve forgotten the way home."
"Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to help you."
Chen Nan smiled helplessly and said, "Can you not speak so elegantly? That fashion has long since passed. It’s just you and me; what’s all this about a ’young master’ and ’poor girl’? It’s too convoluted."
"Then, thank you, young master..."
Chen Nan’s eyes bulged, "Still calling me ’young master’?"
Shi’er smiled apologetically, "Thank you."
"That’s more like it."
Chen Nan smiled, and as he grasped her hand to help her up, the moment their hands contacted, Chen Nan hastily let go and stepped back several steps, staring at her, "Who are you really, with all these tricks?"
As he gripped her hand, Chen Nan felt an incredibly strong power within her, and her cultivations were feared to be no lesser than his.
Shi’er looked puzzled as she scratched her head, "Young master... what are you talking about?"
Chen Nan frowned.
Now he could no longer sense the inner strength in Shi’er. Was it just his imagination before?
Chen Nan stared at her warily, "Stretch out your hand."
Shi’er looked confused, but obediently stretched out a hand as white as jade.
Chen Nan grasped her wrist, carefully sensing for a while, yet he captured no trace of inner strength fluctuation. Could it really be that he was just too sensitive and had hallucinated?
Chen Nan thought carefully, increasingly feeling that it was just an illusion.
After all, Shi’er appeared to be only seventeen or eighteen years old. Even if she truly knew martial arts, she couldn’t possibly be strong enough to elude his detection, right?
Confident in his own martial arts talent, Chen Nan trusted his ability.
Over the years, except for his junior sister, no one could match up to his speed of cultivation, and since Shi’er was younger than his junior sister, even if she did possess inner strength, it surely wouldn’t surpass his own.
"No worries, I just had an illusion. Let’s go."
Chen Nan smiled and started walking out with her.
Walking beside Chen Nan, Shi’er stared unwaveringly at his profile, a faint smile on her face. She murmured in a voice only she could hear, "You are still the same as before, though no longer that bookworm."
Chen Nan hadn’t heard her muttering as he was heading out, when suddenly, the Poison Wolf ran in. Catching sight of Shi’er, his eyes immediately lit up, and he seemed like he could devour her in one bite, "How do I address this beauty? Were you captured by the Red Snake Gang? Need any help?"
"Keep your dirty eyes to yourself!"
Chen Nan pulled Shi’er behind him and said with annoyance, "She’s had enough scares today, don’t add to the chaos; send someone to check on a place called Wuling Mountain, I need to get her home."
"Keeping all the good stuff to yourself, that’s not very generous."
Poison Wolf raised a middle finger and turned to leave.
Chen Nan then turned back to Shi’er, "Close your eyes and follow me from behind." He was worried that the corpses outside might scare the young girl.
Shi’er didn’t ask why, she obediently closed her eyes.
"Young master, how should I address you?"
"Chen Nan. Just call me by my name, stop using ’young master’."
Shi’er nodded in agreement, but in a blink, she forgot, "Young Master Chen, I don’t have a place to stay right now; may I follow you for the time being?"
Chen Nan helplessly smiled, "I’m currently staying at someone else’s place. I’ll discuss it with them first. If they don’t agree, I’ll find you another place to stay."
"Thank you, Mas...you."
Chen Nan chuckled, "By the way, what’s your last name?"
"The young lady’s last name... I’m surnamed Bai."
"Bai Shi’er, sounds as beautiful as the person herself."
Shi’er smiled happily and couldn’t help but mutter, "You were the one who gave me this name..."
Chen Nan heard a voice but didn’t catch it, "What did you say? Something about me giving it?"
Shi’er quickly shook her head, "I mean, I named myself."
Chen Nan didn’t think much of it and continued to walk outside.
When the two got to the vehicle, the Black Feathered Chicken had also finished absorbing True Qi and flew back to the vehicle.
This dead chicken was now as big as a fully grown rooster, standing in the vehicle and staring at Shi’er, "Well Chen, you really have a way with women, seducing another beautiful girl so quickly."
Chen Nan ignored it, not bothering to explain to this beast.
All the way, Shi’er’s eyes were fixed on Chen Nan, her gaze tender, as if she had reunited with a beloved one after a long separation, full of affection she wanted to share but did not know how to express.
"Why do you keep staring at me?" Chen Nan suddenly asked.
Shi’er hurriedly shook her head and smiled, "Nothing, Master...you just saved me, so I wanted to take a good look at this hero."
Chen Nan shook his head with a wry smile, "Do people from your place all wear clothes like yours?"
Shi’er nodded, "Yes, what about it? Don’t you like it?"
"Like a fairy, how could it not look good!"
Chen Nan was almost certain that Shi’er’s hometown must be a very remote place, where very ancient customs were still maintained. Otherwise, why would she use such archaic titles and wear such ancient clothes?
Not long after, the vehicle stopped in front of the Su family villa.
Chen Nan turned to Poison Wolf, "Get someone to clean up the scene. And don’t forget to check where Wuling Mountain is."
"Don’t worry, I’ll arrange it when I get back."
"Just worried that now you’ve got money, you’ll forget all the important stuff, playing around." Chen Nan shook his head with a sigh, pulling Shi’er toward the Su family villa.
