Chapter 238 - 267: Meeting Junior Sister

Chapter 238: Chapter 267: Meeting Junior Sister

Seeing how agitated Chen Nan was, the monk pushed him away with both hands, somewhat displeased, "Patron, please restrain yourself. I have proper thoughts, integrity, and I absolutely do not engage in that sort of behavior."

Engage in that sort of behavior?

Chen Nan was stunned for a moment, really wanting to slap him across the face. What kind of monk was this, whose mind wasn’t filled with scriptures but all sorts of nonsensical thoughts?

"Where exactly is my junior sister? Please, master, give me some direction!" Chen Nan asked again.

The monk stroked his chin and sighed, "Does the patron have any cigarettes on him? This poor monk is having a nicotine craving and is hoping the patron could provide some aid."

Seeing that the monk was rambling on and on without answering his question, Chen Nan became nearly frantic, quickly taking out a pack of cigarettes and handing the whole thing over to him, "Master, where exactly is my junior sister?"

"The patron is really generous!"

Lit by the monk with a blissful look on his face, the cigarette was deeply inhaled before he glanced at Chen Nan and said, "You are very worried about her?"

Nonsense!

Chen Nan really wanted to curse, but he held back and hurriedly said, "Of course, please enlighten me, master."

Chen Nan had probably not spoken as politely in his whole life as he did today; this monk was too extraordinary, not at all like a person who had renounced the secular life.

"The young girl fought with someone here yesterday, was gravely injured and on the brink of death; luckily, this poor monk passed by and saved her life," the monk said unhurriedly.

Hearing that his junior sister was still alive, the weight in Chen Nan’s heart finally settled.

He asked anxiously, "Then where is she?"

The monk also started to get serious, "Her internal organs are all cracked, the injuries are too severe, and this poor monk could only help her hang onto life temporarily. If it goes on for too long, she will undoubtedly perish. Having no other choice, I had to send her to Immortal Spirit Valley to recuperate, hoping for a glimmer of hope for survival."

Chen Nan frowned, "What is Immortal Spirit Valley?"

"It is an Ancient Immortal site, the secluded practice place of the Immortal Spirit Saintess during the Ancient Times. The valley is filled with rich spiritual energy; a common person cultivating there for one year could match ten years outside. It’s an excellent spot for secluded practice and healing. Your junior sister was critically injured and on the brink of death. If she stayed in the outside world, there would be no chance of survival. Only recuperating in the dense spiritual energy of Immortal Spirit Valley could provide her a thread of hope for life."

Hearing that his junior sister was critically injured and on the brink of death, Chen Nan was even more frantic and quickly said, "Then where is Immortal Spirit Valley? I must see her!"

The monk took out a piece of black cloth and handed it to Chen Nan, "Cover your eyes, and this poor monk will take you there."

Although Chen Nan did not understand why he had to cover his eyes, as long as he could see his junior sister, he wasn’t concerned with asking too many questions and immediately used the black cloth to blindfold himself.

The monk grabbed the back of Chen Nan’s clothes and lifted him up entirely.

Immediately after, Chen Nan only heard the "whooshing" sound of the wind by his ears, feeling his body moving swiftly, and after about five minutes, the wind stopped, and his feet touched the ground.

The monk tore off the black cloth from his eyes, "Patron, we have arrived."

When Chen Nan opened his eyes, he found himself in a valley. As the monk had described, the spiritual energy was rich; insects and beasts fluttered about, birds sang, and flowers fragranced the air—an extremely lovely environment, like a fairyland on earth.

"Master, is my junior sister recuperating in this valley?" Chen Nan asked.

The monk nodded, "She is recuperating in the valley, but you won’t be able to see her."

Chen Nan furrowed his brow, "Why not?"

Pointing into the valley, the monk showed his yellow teeth and said, "Don’t believe me? You can go in and try."

Chen Nan certainly wouldn’t believe it.

Having finally found his junior sister, how could he possibly give up without seeing her even once!

Taking large strides, Chen Nan rapidly headed towards the valley.

But, having just charged in no more than twenty meters, he heard a "bang" as if his head had hit a wall; a barrier emitting seven-colored waves blocked his way. His head-on collision instantly sent him flying dozens of meters back, his head buzzing, nearly losing consciousness.

Chen Nan got up and, channeling his Inner Strength, charged again.

After he rushed in twenty meters, the Seven-colored Barrier appeared again. Chen Nan exerted his full True Qi, striking the barrier with his palm, but the barrier didn’t even quiver and he himself was sent flying backwards forty to fifty meters, his internal Qi and blood churning.

Chen Nan got up, ready to make another attempt, but the Monk spoke, "Don’t waste your strength in vain, with your current power, you could exhaust yourself to death and still not break the Protecting Valley Formation."

Chen Nan quickly turned around, "Does Master have a way to break this Formation?"

The Monk shook his head and said, "This Protecting Valley Formation was personally set by the Immortal Spirit Saintess in Ancient Times. Although I possess some power, I absolutely cannot break the Protecting Valley Formation."

"If the Formation cannot be broken, how did my junior sister manage to enter it?" Chen Nan asked.

"This Formation is called the Universe Unlimited Array, one of the strongest Defense Arrays between Heaven and Earth. Moreover, the one who set it up is the Immortal Spirit Saintess, whose power reaches the sky, greatly increasing the might of the Formation. Breaking through the Formation is easier said than done." The Monk sighed and explained, "However, this Formation has grown somewhat incomplete over thousands of years. It opens once every three years and after being open for a day, it automatically starts functioning again, and one must wait another three years for the next opening. Yesterday happened to coincide with the opening of the Formation, which is why I was able to send your junior sister in. Now that the Formation is operational, no one can enter."

"Does that mean I have to wait another three years before I can see my junior sister!?" Chen Nan said, emotionally stirred.

The Monk nodded and then shook his head, "If within these three years you can advance your power to the level capable of unraveling this Formation, then naturally you could meet your junior sister earlier."

"What level of power do I need to break the Formation?"

"I do not know," replied the Monk.

"May I ask what realm you are in now, Master?" asked Chen Nan.

Although Chen Nan knew it was impolite to ask others such a question, he was too anxious to care; he needed to have an idea in mind.

The Monk shook his head and didn’t answer his question. Instead, he looked towards the valley and spoke, "Esteemed one perceives some tender affection you hold for your junior sister, so this is my proposition: I will exert all my strength to hinder the Formation from operating, allowing you to meet her."

Hearing this, Chen Nan was overjoyed, "Thank you, Master!"

"Remember, time is running short. I have limited power and can only hold back the Formation for a quarter of an hour. If you have anything to say, say it quickly."

"Understood!"

Chen Nan nodded, and the two walked toward the valley together.

The Seven-colored Barrier appeared once more; the Monk’s body radiated with Buddha Light. He waved his hands, striking the Big Formation with one hundred and eight palms in succession, then leaped into the air above the Formation and struck down towards it with a palm from above.

Golden Buddha Light surged out from the Monk, pouring into the Big Formation, while the Seven-colored Barrier before Chen Nan gradually faded, eventually becoming completely transparent. He saw the scene inside the valley.

Sitting cross-legged on a Seven-colored Stone, Ye Yiyi was surrounded by a white glow, in meditation and Breathing Control, using Qi Movement to heal her injuries.

"Yiyi!"

Excitement surged in Chen Nan’s heart. He couldn’t help but shout her name and rushed forward.
