Chapter 113: A Man Dying From Love [R18]

His movements were fast yet careful. The insatiable passion, ignited by the sweet and hot exchange of love, guided his body like a puppet, while his hazy, dazed mind was craving Aideen’s everything, and the more she responded to his fervent provocations, the greedier he became.

As Tillian’s hips continued to move with the perfect rhythm, his large, warm hands were supporting the woman’s head, carefully guarding her against any possible harm, and his lips, hot and wet, were frantically moving over her tender neck and shoulders, leaving burning red traces akin to branding marks as his way of saying that her delicate flesh belonged only to him. And he could not get enough of it.

With every move, every kiss, every touch, every gasp, their bodies seemed to be uniting as one – the thick mixture of their combined aromatic scents had filled up the entire room, drowning the two connected people in the half-transparent sea of the dark passionate fog. Neither Tillian nor Aideen could no longer tell where one’s body began and the other’s ended, both their bodies and minds were now merged and tinged with the lustful hue of unfathomable pleasure that neither of them wanted to give up.

And yet, as if stricken by the moment of clarity, both of them exhaled as one, filling the hot room with the faint sounds of their breathless moans, when the passionate exchange of their love finally reached its zenith.

Still struggling to catch his breath and pressing the princess’s body against his, the Duke let his hazy vision regain its focus, frantically waiting for his wife to show him any signs of discontent, while Aideen, on the other hand, was hanging down the man’s sturdy, muscular frame almost lifelessly, not certain whether she would ever be able to regain her strength again.

"Aideen? Are you alright? Did I push you too hard this time?"

Upon hearing the man’s low, hoarse voice, the princess responded with a light, almost unnoticeable nod and let out an exhausted sigh in an attempt to ensure Tillian that she could hear him and that she was all right. Unfortunately, hearing was the only thing her body could allow her to do at that moment, as the vigorous session of lovemaking had taken a noticeable toll on her unprepared body.

Thus, lifelessly clinging onto the Duke’s powerful body, Aideen took a deep breath and said, half of her quiet words drowning in Tillian’s neck,

"I am fine, Tillian. I... I don’t want you to hold back with me. I want to feel how much your body craves me."

The Duke widened his eyes, his heart now beating faster for an entirely new reason.

Hearing his wife say these words made him realize one important thing –– Aideen was still under the impression that his love was not real; that their marriage was only a deal; and that his life remained unchanged the moment she arrived at his castle.

Or that it was not just his body that craved her; it was his entire being.

But he could not let her know that right away –– perhaps indeed exhausted by such a passionate activity, the princess’s body finally relaxed and let go of the tensions that came afterwards. With her forehead still pressed against the Duke’s neck, she was now fast asleep, her warm breath tickling the man’s hot and damp skin and sending light shivers down his spine.

Scared to disturb her serene slumber, Tillian carefully picked up his jacket from the surface of his desk, then slowly approached the leather couch, and lay down, still holding his wife tightly pressed on top of his body. Then, he placed his jacket over the lady, covering her naked back, his hands gently gliding over her soft skin.

Aideen’s body seemed almost weightless yet he could still feel its overwhelming warmth and he could not tell whether it was the closeness of their skin or that invisible connection they had managed to create that made his heart melt.

With a careful motion, Tillian slid his fingertips over the long, thick scars on the princess’s back, closing his eyes as if in an attempt to contain his relentless anger, his frantic mind lost in thoughts.

’I do not know how to talk to you about this, Aideen. Will you be in pain again? Will these terrifying memories start haunting you once more? If these scars still burden you with the heavy weight of your past, I wish you could ask me to share this burden with you. I know it’s difficult and I know that you still need time to heal, but I wish you knew that I was ready to do anything for you from the very start. I will wait for you, Aideen. I will wait until you feel like you can talk to me about anything. I will wait forever if I have to.’

Then, Tillian opened his eyes, carefully moved his face to the right, and planted a light kiss on the princess’s head, inhaling the sweet aroma emanating from her soft wavy hair.

’How can I hold myself back when you are so close to me? But I still know that I must. I have no idea what to do with myself, Aideen. I am overwhelmed with love, it’s overflowing and it makes me scared.

I get jealous and angry so easily... I don’t know if I’m obsessed with you or possessed by an evil, all-consuming power. I’ve never felt this way before and I don’t know how to deal with such strong emotions. And I don’t want to scare you with my love either. People taught me about the physical side of love, but nobody ever told me how to deal with my feelings.’

The Duke released a long yet quiet sigh, then pressed his lips against Aideen’s head again, and whispered,

"You bewitched my body and soul. Put an intoxicating spell on me, shackled my heart to yours with your magic. You can see now but you still cannot see how strongly I feel about you. If I could exchange my eyesight with you, I would do it just to make you see what a man dying from love looks like."
