Sage of Humanity
Chapter 1028 - 1026: Who is She?

The Blood Race moved swiftly, and within just two days after receiving the order, Blood Race members from various cave residences under the jurisdiction of the Blessed Land began to gather.

It wasn't the first time experiencing such an event; there were precedents for how much force each cave residence should deploy.

Typically, each cave residence would send half of their people, leaving the remaining half to stay behind.

The higher level Blessed Land would act similarly.

This approach mainly ensures that there are Blood Race members remaining to guard their own territory, so no matter what danger is encountered in battle, they wouldn't be completely wiped out.

Afterward, the gathered Blood Race members would rally together by units under the Blessed Land, then converge at the Star Moon Sacred Land. Once forces were sufficiently gathered, the Star Moon Sacred Land would orchestrate a unified command, sending troops to the Empyrean Sea to attack the human race's Righteous Blood Sacred Land.

Two days later, Lu Ye, accompanied by Dao Thirteen and Yu Lingfeng, mingled within a group of Blood Race members heading towards the direction of the Star Moon Sacred Land.

The contingent consisted of over two hundred Blood Race members, apart from the Blessed Land Master, who was in the True Lake Realm, the rest were all in the Cloud River Realm.

This situation was because Lu Ye had previously slaughtered within the Blessed Land, eliminating those in the True Lake Realm among the Blood Race. Presently, the only one in the True Lake Realm is the one upon whom Lu Ye had planted the Soul Taming Divine Runes.

Many Blood Race members were indeed curious about the presence of two humans in the troop, but upon slightly inquiring, learning they were the Blood Slaves of their Blessed Land Master, they lost interest.

Along the way, they encountered other Blood Race troops also heading towards the Star Moon Sacred Land, where their respective Blessed Land Masters met smoothly, and the two groups merged seamlessly.

As the troop continued expanding, by the time they reached the Star Moon Sacred Land, they had gathered around a thousand members.

The Star Moon Sacred Land was situated atop a spirit mountaintop, covering an extensive area, and it was the only Sacred Land within hundreds of miles around that had a Sacred Seed stationed.

The Blessed Land Masters from all directions arrived as ordered, and a large number of Blood Race members were now stationed here.

Lu Ye looked around, and saw a dense mass of Blood Race figures filling his view, from halfway up the mountain to the foot, leaving barely a place to stand, numbering tens of thousands at least.

Their own troop had undoubtedly arrived quite late, and was forced to settle temporarily at the foot of the mountain.

No Blood Race members came to greet them, nor anyone to instruct what to do next; the only course was to wait.

More and more troops of Blood Race members arrived to gather, continuously augmenting the army's strength.

Lu Ye observed quietly, feeling somewhat baffled about just how strong the foundation of the Righteous Blood Sacred Land could be, remaining unshaken under such grand Blood Refinement World forces.

From just one Star Moon Sacred Land, tens of thousands of Blood Race members were gathered, and the information he got from the Blessed Land Master was that four armies of similar scale existed, controlled by four Blood Race Sacred Lands. They would launch simultaneous assaults from four directions on the Empyrean Sea's Righteous Blood Sacred Land. The northern front was chiefly managed by the Star Moon Sacred Land, while the southeastern and western directions had similarly potent Blood Race armies.

In other words, in such warfare, the Blood Race would deploy at least a million troops, among which Divine Sea Realm Blood Race members would surely abound. Could this world's only human force truly withstand this?

What exceptional skill did the Righteous Blood Sacred Land possess that has repeatedly repelled the Blood Race army?

In the tent, Lu Ye summoned the Blessed Land Master on whom he had planted the Soul Taming Divine Runes, to inquire.

"My lord might not know, but in fact, the Empyrean Sea is a tremendously vast Blood Pool, also called Blood Sea. The Righteous Blood Sacred Land is indeed situated on the archipelago at its center, quite easy to defend but hard to attack. Moreover, the place is well-fortified, often resulting in casualties even before our Blood Race army approaches, and even if they manage to charge forward, the human race's strong fighters there are plenty. It's said even Sacred Seeds have suffered losses over there."

Lu Ye listened, somewhat puzzled.

The Righteous Blood Sacred Land being easy to defend but hard to attack was apparent to him, as the Blood Refinement World's sole human force situated in the Empyrean Sea clearly valued its terrain and topography.

The Empyrean Sea being a vast Blood Pool, also known as Blood Sea, meant that if a Blood Race member accidentally fell into it, they'd be severely injured if not killed, thus the human side often achieved twice the result with half the effort in defense.

Yet, this evidently wasn't the fundamental reason why the Righteous Blood Sacred Land remained unyielding.

Lu Ye found himself unable to figure it out momentarily.

This Blessed Land Master didn't know much about the Righteous Blood Sacred Land's situation either, as it was his first participation in the Blood Race's siege against them.

Failing to uncover more information, Lu Ye dismissed him with a wave.

As night deepened, Lu Ye stepped out of the tent and surveyed the area. Everywhere, countless torchlights flickered, beneath which countless Blood Race figures twisted, resembling a frenzied gathering of demons.

Suddenly, there's a tinkling sound of bells, stirring Lu Ye's senses, leading him to turn his gaze toward the noise, furrowing his brows at the sight.

A human woman dressed in a sheer veil walked toward them, her enchanting figure faintly visible beneath it. Her wrists and ankles carried two strings of small jingling bells, responsible for the tinkling sound as she moved.

She walked barefoot, her hem fluttering, revealing her delicate toes that were alluring. Though she seemed to stride upon the ground, she was actually hovering three inches above it.

The woman's attire seemed barely decent, typically arousing desires in others. Yet, strangely, upon seeing her, Lu Ye felt no desire, instead a faint sense of terror arose.

In the depths of his mind, a Dragon's Wail erupted suddenly, and the figure before him blurred as Dao Thirteen stepped forward to cover his view.

At that moment, Dao Thirteen was akin to a bristling cat, slightly hunched, his Divine Sea Realm aura surging uncontrollably, snorting warm air from his nostrils, with even his gaze becoming fierce.

Lu Ye had always instructed Dao Thirteen to restrain his own aura, to avoid exposing his Divine Sea Realm background and having a hard time explaining it to the uninformed Blood Race.

But the appearance of this woman clearly made him feel a sense of crisis, which is why he responded as such.

"Hm?" The woman made a light sound with her nasal voice, glancing at Dao Thirteen in surprise, seemingly not expecting a human of the Divine Sea Realm to be found in the midst of this Blood Race army.

"What a pity." She muttered softly, shifting her gaze away, leaving one to wonder what exactly she found regrettable.

Meanwhile, protected behind Dao Thirteen, Lu Ye looked both surprised and doubtful.

When he first saw the woman, he thought she was a Blood Slave brought by some Blood Race member.

This side had hundreds of thousands of Blood Race soldiers gathered, but not all were Blood Race; some Blood Slaves with cultivation were present.

The human race's status in the Blood Refinement World was extremely low, but due to the Blood Seal technique, some Blood Race members were keen on subjugating a few Blood Slaves for their own use. Compared to other Blood Race members, Blood Slaves were considered trustworthy and could be commanded at will.

He had seen some human Blood Slaves when he arrived here, so although surprised by the woman's attire, he didn't think much about it.

Until a Dragon's Wail was heard in his mind.

The sound of the Dragon's Wail was due to the activation of the Twin Dragons Guarding the Sea technique. In other words, the woman had inconspicuously applied some undetectable method to his psyche, thus triggering the Twin Dragons Guarding the Sea defense.

Then, Dao Thirteen's instinctive reaction further made Lu Ye realize something was wrong; this woman clearly intended to harm him.

Why?

Even more strangely, the woman just walked away, making no further attempt to strike.

Lu Ye pushed Dao Thirteen aside and looked up, seeing the woman continuing forward. Wherever she passed, all the Blood Race stood up, gazing obsessively at her, their eyes filled with greed and covetousness.

The woman appeared indifferent, with only a slight smile at the corners of her mouth.

Lu Ye suddenly understood, this woman wasn't intending to attack him, or rather, he wasn't her target. Her mystical means were aimed at all the Blood Race here; he was merely caught in the crossfire.

Who is she?

What is she doing?

In a flash, Lu Ye vaguely thought of a possibility.

Just as the thought crossed his mind, he saw the woman stop walking, then slowly rise into the air, stopping only at a height of ten Zhang. The bells on her wrists and ankles moved without wind, emitting a jingling sound.

The sound was soft yet very penetrating.

Inside Lu Ye's mind, the Dragon's Wail resounded again, and Dao Thirteen crouched low, a beast-like growl coming from his throat—a reaction he only had in the face of danger.

A soft, tinkling laughter came through, as crisp and pleasant as the sound of the bells, yet it was chilling.

With her hands forming a seal in front of her chest, the woman gently spoke: "A thousand trees and ten thousand pear blossoms bloom!"

Tiny star-like lights suddenly flew from her body, shining like a constellation. These numerous lights rapidly spread out, enveloping an area of a thousand Zhang.

In that instant, Lu Ye's skin felt a sharp pain, and his heart rang with a warning.

"Dao Thirteen!" he hurriedly shouted sternly.

Dao Thirteen immediately turned around and pounced on him, pinning him to the ground, covering him with his sturdy form.

Almost simultaneously as Dao Thirteen shielded Lu Ye, the inconspicuous starlight suddenly blossomed, resembling clusters of pure white pear blossoms.

What followed was a series of violent roars and explosive sounds.

Within the thousand Zhang around the woman, all Blood Race who heard the bell sound died in a daze, one by one.

Under the luminous cover, the area shone as bright as day, but all the Blood Race were turning into ashes and disappearing without a trace.

In Lu Ye's perception, Yu Lingfeng, in whom he had planted the Soul Taming Divine Runes, and that True Lake Realm Blessed Land Master, also vanished without a trace.

The intense noise shook Lu Ye's eardrums painfully, and he felt silently terrified by the power of this inexplicable magic and spells.

Such a method could not be wielded by an ordinary Divine Sea Realm being—at the very least, Lu Ye had never seen such a technique. The aura that the mysterious woman emitted in that instant was strong beyond what Lu Ye could believe.

Even the sect master seemed no match for this woman!

Continuous explosive sounds came from not far away, accompanied by the clear ring of the bells, clearly indicating the woman's ongoing slaughter.
