Chapter 398: Chapter 398: Old Friend’s Warmth

It was already eleven o’clock at night, and the streets were relatively quiet.

"It’s so late and there are no taxis; let’s stay here. I can take a bath; I’m all drenched," Yang Qianqian said, pointing to a nearby hotel.

Chen Dashan thought for a moment but nodded his head. The weather was gradually turning autumnal, and the late-night air carried a chill. Wearing wet clothes indeed made it easy to catch a cold.

The two decided to stay at a nearby hotel.

"Two rooms," Chen Dashan said as he took out his ID.

Yang Qianqian looked down, a bit shyly, and said, "One room is fine; I didn’t bring my ID."

"Alright, then one room."

In the room, Yang Qianqian sat on the edge of the bed, very shy, her heart unsure of what to think as she fiddled with the hem of her clothes.

"Why don’t you go take a bath first," Chen Dashan suggested.

Yang Qianqian hummed in response and walked into the bathroom. Soon, the sound of the shower filled the space.

Although there was a glass partition, it was frosted, and with the bathroom heater on, Yang Qianqian’s graceful figure was unmistakably showcased.

It must be said, Yang Qianqian’s figure was truly remarkable: tall, slender, and with a narrow waist and peachy hips.

She was truly a beauty among beauties. No wonder, back in high school, she received many love letters, not to mention how many pursuers she must have had in college.

"Dashan," Yang Qianqian called softly from inside.

Chen Dashan responded, "What’s up?"

"It looks like the bath towel is outside. Can you pass it to me?"

Chen Dashan looked towards the table where the bathrobe and towels were placed.

"Alright. Coming."

Chen Dashan carried the bathrobe and cracked open the bathroom door ever so slightly.

The moment the gap opened, he caught the fragrance inside—shower gel mixed with Yang Qianqian’s body scent, utterly enticing.

An arm as pure as white jade reached out, slightly reddened from the hot water used for the bath.

"Thank you."

Chen Dashan lay on the bed, looking at his phone. Mr. Qi had reminded him to come over in the morning, and he would accompany Chen Dashan to meet Secretary Yang.

"I’m done. Do you want to take a bath?" Yang Qianqian came out, wrapped in a bathrobe.

The bathrobe was not large, covering only half of her body. Her pale shoulders and distinct collarbones were visible, and the bathrobe slipped downward, exposing half of her soft breast.

Her long, slender legs were also bare, irresistible to anyone who looked.

"What are you looking at? Do I look that good?" Yang Qianqian caught Chen Dashan staring at her and pouted, though her heart burst with joy.

Chen Dashan laughed, "Attractive, really attractive. Qianqian, you were pretty back in school, and you’re even prettier now."

Yang Qianqian smiled shyly.

"All right, I’ll get into bed first. You should go take a shower," she said.

By the time Chen Dashan had finished his bath, Yang Qianqian was already under the covers, tucked in tightly with only her head peeking out.

Seeing Chen Dashan emerge made her even more embarrassed.

"Should I sleep on the sofa?" There was only one bed in the room, Chen Dashan suggested.

"It’s okay, there are two quilts and the bed is big enough, one for each of us," Yang Qianqian said in a whisper.

She felt that any further refusal would be somewhat improper.

Chen Dashan lay down beside her.

"Today, it upset you quite a bit, didn’t it?" Yang Qianqian asked cautiously.

"What’s there to worry about? Let them say what they want to say. It’s not like their words can hurt me. They were never better than me in school, and now that they have the chance to laugh at me, naturally, they won’t pass up the opportunity. Don’t you think?" Chen Dashan took it in stride.

When you suppress someone for too long, as soon as you’re inferior to them, they will relish mocking you thoroughly.

Yang Qianqian hummed in agreement.

"By the way, I see that Wang Shiwen really likes you. This guy has liked you since school days. What about you?"

Chen Dashan looked at Yang Qianqian lying beside him.

At this moment, Yang Qianqian’s heartbeat sped up; she couldn’t dare to look straight into Chen Dashan’s eyes, clutching the quilt tightly, suppressing her rapidly pounding heart.

"I don’t like him at all; I already have someone I like in my heart."

"Who?" Chen Dashan turned over, lying on his side, looking at Yang Qianqian.

Yang Qianqian’s face flushed red, almost dripping water from shyness.

Suddenly, Yang Qianqian turned over, pulled the quilt away, and burrowed into Chen Dashan’s bedding, her eyes intently fixed on him.

In an instant, Chen Dashan felt a blazing heat; he could vividly feel Yang Qianqian’s skin.

Yang Qianqian had actually crawled in completely naked.

Chen Dashan was quite taken aback.

"Don’t you understand my feelings for you? I have liked you since high school, and I have always attended reunions just to see you. Why don’t you understand my feelings?" Yang Qianqian mustered her courage, gazing at Chen Dashan as she poured out everything that was in her heart.

Chen Dashan was somewhat stunned, "You like me?"

"What else did you think? During college, I wanted to contact you so many times, but knowing you had a girlfriend, I held back. Why do you think I came back? It wasn’t because I wanted to come back to work, it was because I knew you had broken up. I came back to find you. When I returned, I had already decided that no matter how you were doing—whether like others said, blinded, or always working the fields—I had decided, I wanted to marry you!" Yang Qianqian said earnestly, fixing her gaze on Chen Dashan.

Chen Dashan fell silent; he had never imagined that Yang Qianqian felt this way about him.

"Later, when I learned you were doing well, when I saw you, all the words I wanted to say, I held back. I was afraid you’d ask me why it took me so long, afraid you’d think I came to you only because you were doing well now. But I couldn’t hold back anymore; I still wanted to tell you!" Ultimately, Yang Qianqian still spilled all her heart out to Chen Dashan.

Chen Dashan, reminded of the past events, finally understood Yang Qianqian’s heart. He then gently pulled her into his arms, feeling her sincere heart and her already fiery skin.

"I know now, Qianqian. You’ve had a tough time these years."

Yang Qianqian finally smiled, her anxious heart now at ease: she realized that Chen Dashan had accepted her.

"It hasn’t been tough, as long as it’s you," Yang Qianqian said happily, resting on Chen Dashan’s chest.

At this moment, her heart was completely content.

Her rapid heartbeat made her whole body feel warm.

Under the moonlight, Yang Qianqian looked at Chen Dashan and couldn’t hold back any longer; she kissed him.

Ten years of unrequited love, in that moment, burst forth.

For a solid two hours, Yang Qianqian looked at Chen Dashan, whose once dry hair was soaked with sweat again.

Yang Qianqian’s entire face was flushed, looking exceedingly cute and enticing,

"Dashan, from now on, I am yours. I know you already have someone else by your side, but having you is enough for me."
