Chapter 72: Chapter - 72 A Decision Made
Tristan’s Point Of View
"How could I ever make a decision like that?" I asked.
It was nonsensical. I wouldn’t put this life on anyone. It was horrible to treat people like some kind of breeding animal. Not to mention finding 4 compatible mates. On the other hand, I didn’t want to be hunted down forever. I wanted to just enjoy life with my siblings, and my Alphas. I wanted to go outside and take the kids to good restaurants, and theme parks. Travel to see other duhtchies. I wanted to live how I wanted.
’Is this the selfishness that everyone is always talking about. Living for myself?’
"Can I ask you a question?" I said.
"Sure, go for it." He replied.
"Why haven’t you gone public with this information before now? What was the promise?" I asked.
"Ah, well... about that. While perfecting the formula, over 100 Omega women and children died. And even then the only Omega who could carry to term, or at least close to it was your mother. Maybelline didn’t want to risk her best friend’s life on a what if. But Seraphine was a strong willed woman, and a pure bred Hyper-Dominant Omega so she had faith in Maybelline.... However after your successful insemination, Maybelline found out what life the facility had in store for the ’Golden Goose Omega’ she began developing your fail safe, and also sending me her worried and concerned emails." Bennhayzin said as he got even more comfortable on the sofa.
"Worried emails?" I mumbled.
"Yeah. Since I had superiority over the facility, she wanted me to take you and your mother in to protect you from that sick and depraved Director Kahrmazin. But if you can imagine asking a 20 year old bachelor to take in a pregnant Omega, or her and her child was a bit much for me. I really didn’t want that kind of responsibility. So I advised her to send me her notes and information to safe guard, and if life in there became exceptional dangerous for them she could just email me and I’d do what I could." He sighed.
"But you didn’t help. They killed Auntie Maybelline and my mother. Life in the facility became increasingly worse afterwards." I said angrily.
"I know, but in my defense I had ended up going to war with another Mafia King around the time they killed Maybelline. I had lost everyone. So I was just too lost in my own grief to care about anything or anyone else." He said, looking remorseful.
"You lost everyone?" I asked rubbing Cole’s mark. For some reason it was really comforting feeling his elation everytime I rubbed his mark.
"Yeah. My mother, little sister, and uncle. They were all killed when the asshole blew up my family home on the outskirts of Delgaide. I got my revenge but, it didn’t fix the emptiness I felt. In one of the emails Maybelline sent me, she told me about your constitution, the troubles you were sure to face once she was gone, the plan that the facility had for you once you came of age in a few months, and she asked me to never help the facilities create another perfect Omega. She said no child should suffer the way you will. She also talked about her regrets..."
"She had regrets...?" I asked confused.
Auntie Maybelline always seemed to know exactly what she was doing. And she would always have a stern look on her face while running tests. Arrisa loved her mother, but Maybelline was always terrifying to me.
"Yes, after watching you, Sable, Delcain, Kaleb, and Arrisa play with each other like your worth wasn’t determined by the children you all could produce, and watching you guys grow up to care for each other like real siblings... she became extremely remorseful. She wanted you guys to be able to choose your own lifestyle. She wanted you guys to find real love, to enjoy being kids longer and not be used as sexual toys."
After that the facility grew impatient with Auntie Maybelline not being able to provide the information on how she had created me. They had searched all the files on her computer and found nothing. They had searched her notes but came up empty. In her last stance she revealed what she had done to my DNA and that they wouldn’t be able to do as they pleased any longer. She was murdered and my testing became a hellish nightmare. Mr. Wyhett became unreasonable. The scientists grew frantic trying to research my genetic code. Unfortunately, Maybelline was ahead of her time in genetic coding, they were unable to pin point most of the make up of my DNA.
"Killing your mother was also a planned coordinated attack. They believed she was barren and could not produce children anymore. It wasn’t until the autopsy revealed the morning after drug in her blood stream that they realized their mistake.... Hahaha! And then you successfully escaped with your facility siblings in tow. It sent that facility into a frenzy. They requested my help, but after seeing you guys board a train I advised I could no longer help. I also neglected to tell them the destination of the tickets you purchased. I owed Maybelline that much at least...." He smirked.
"Am I supposed to say thank you? Life outside was terrible. Omegas are treated just as shitty here, as they are in the facilities. You Alphas are annoying pieces of shit!" I asserted.
Sure life outside was dictated by my choices, but the choices to choose from were just as shitty. And the world treated us like whores no matter our age. Jealous female Alphas were dangerous, strong Alpha men were dangerous, and Betas were just complacent NPCs. It really made it hard to envision a bright future for me and for my siblings.
"Oh? Is that how you feel about your mates and their men? They all seemed ready to die for you and your siblings when I pulled up to the gate today...?" He chuckled.
"That’s not what I meant. This was not an easy life to secure. If I didn’t have Delcain or my siblings then I would have given up a long time ago...." I replied.
"Hmm... I see. Well then, what’s your answer?" He asked.
"I choose to release the information personally. After the duhtchy and its facility has been vetted by Meyhymn and Ferdinand. Maybelline was correct about one thing, kids shouldn’t be chained to a bed and bred until they die. Also female Omegas have a better chance at birthing than male Omegas, so we should start there, right?" I asked.
"You want to take the information off my hands? Are you aware it will make the target on your back even bigger? I can’t do that to Maybelline..." Bennhayzin said.
"I have faith in my Alphas... even when they do ridiculously unreasonable things, like close me in a room with an Alpha while I’m basically still in heat." I said rolling my eyes.
"Oh I see... so that’s why I feel this way? Man I was beginning to feel like a perverted old man. I’m honestly glad you’re not crying. I think it would have flipped an unnecessary switch inside me." He said laughing.
"I don’t need to know that..." I murmured.
"Oh! I have an idea. When I tell you to, call out to your Alphas. Okay?" He said eyes gleaming.
"No... what the hell are you goi– NGH!"
My words were cut short when my nose began to be assaulted by a soft Lavender & Honey smell. It was a pleasant smell but my body was very angry to be near it. I immediately slapped my hand on my right shoulder, and covered my nose with my other hand.
"Huh? What are you doing?" Bennhayzin asked me, confused.
He hadn’t given the signal but I was moments away from throwing up and passing out.
Just then the door slammed open and Bennhayzin looked at it, then me in shock.
"Benn, I’m only going to warn you once." Sylvester said.
"Whoa! How’d you do that? That’s pretty nifty. That wasn’t in her notes at all. I wonder if she knew." Bennhayzin said excitedly.
"Okay... please stop now." I groaned.
"Oh right sorry. I ruined the joke didn’t I?" He said looking worried.
Ferdinand picked me up and looked between me and Bennhayzin, confused. Considering we had been sitting on opposite ends of the couch the amount of pheromones in the air was unreasonable.
"Benn, tell me you didn’t just try to coerce my mate into talking...?" Ferdinand said with a glare.
"N-No..." I groaned, trying to take deep breaths of Ferdinand’s scent.
"No. No. Our talk was over with. I just wanted to see your panicked faces when he called for you, but he called for you without using his words. That’s pretty cool. Tristan, I agree to your terms. I will give it to you if you come to the summons this Saturday. Because I’m not driving out here a second time... Sorry, not sorry." Bennhayzin said standing up.
"But it’ll be dangerous if I go. I don’t want to." I said looking at him worried.
"Well Ferdinand would never let you stay here without him so perish the thought. Also I know for a fact that Danhiel will attack you to retrieve you no matter if you stay or go. If you go I’ll help protect you. Like I said, I owe it to your Aunt. And I won’t be the only one. You can also bet Dyah would be on your side as well Ferdinand. The triplets and Rahzden will be your biggest concerns. So hopefully your mate can make a good case. I’m looking forward to it." He said with a wink before heading out the room.
"Cole make sure he leaves." Ferdinand said.
"On it. Glad you’re okay Tristan..." He said heading out too.
"Haaah... he didn’t hurt you right?" Ferdinand asked.
"No... he’s a pretty decent guy, even though he makes my hackles rise..." I groaned.
"Ah. That’s probably because he’s a Hyper-Dominant Alpha so your body was wary of him before your mind was." Ferdinand chuckled.
’Well... now he’s even more terrifying than he was before...’
