Chapter 159: Chapter - 159 The Executioner

Cole’s Point Of View

Tristan was looking exceptionally tired and pale. I wasn’t sure what was wrong, but I was positive that it wasn’t just fatigue. I held him close in my arms while Sylvester went to get Ferdinand and Bellamy.

If I was being honest, if they would have asked me, I probably would have helped. I had never been so happy to be excluded in all my life. It sucked to know where Ferdinand and Bellamy were coming from, but to also know where Tristan was coming from too.

"My liege, I have brought the idiots." Sylvester said, once again throwing my door open dramatically.

He seemed to be enjoying this a bit too much, but upon closer inspection, he seemed to be trying to make Tristan smile. It was working albeit a small amount. His lips basically twitched into a smile. His eyes promised pure retribution.

"No matter what happens, I’m definitely going to punch you in the mouth." Bellamy said, glaring at Sylvester.

"You can try dumbass, but I doubt you’d make it too far. So keep dreaming." Sylvester said, getting back into my bed and sitting beside me and Tristan.

"I’ve let you fester for long enough. Anyone want to get any last words out?" Tristan asked.

"Yeah. Sure, why not. I’m sorry I didn’t talk to you about it first. In my defense, your brother asked me not to tell you anything, and I just assumed that he could handle it as long as whoever the Alpha was, wasn’t a complete idiot, asshole, or not well off. I promise I won’t do it again, and I promise to involve you with everything I do from this moment on." Ferdinand said, with absolute sincerity.

Tristan just nodded his head in acknowledgement, then he looked towards Bellamy.

"While your brother didn’t expressly tell me not to tell you, he clammed up when I even brought up the subject, so I just shrugged it off. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you." Bellamy said. It was clear that he was more nervous than contrite.

"Well thank you for being honest. It will not save you however. While you both seem to know what you did wrong, you don’t seem to understand why it was wrong. Especially you, Bellamy. Once again you were blinded by your amusement." Tristan said, pointedly.

"Whaa–? Me? Is this a joke?! How am I in more trouble than the one who orchestrated the whole thing!?" Bellamy yelled.

Tristan calmly rose up from the bed, and slowly walked toward Bellamy. Before he could even sense the danger, Tristan reached out and grabbed Bellamy’s face and both of his ears, fiercely.

"Tell me something Bellamy. Do you recall our mating cycle?" Tristan asked, eyes glowing.

"Of course." Bellamy replied, nervously.

"Do you recall the pink syringe I used?" Tristan asked, slowly.

Bellamy just nodded, while swallowing audibly. His fear was basically palpable at this point.

"Do you remember why I wanted to take it?" Tristan asked, pulling Bellamy closer to his face.

Then, Bellamy’s eyes widened and he nodded slowly. His sadness hit us all like a brick wall. I had to grab my chest and breathe slowly, just to offset the tightness in my chest.

"That will happen to all of us during our heats. I told you this, yes? You failed to remember that piece of information when it mattered most. And inadvertently put Kaleb in harms way. That, is why you are in more trouble!" Tristan said, giving Bellamy a harsh kiss that left blood in its wake.

He released Bellamy from his grip and turned to face me. He didn’t take a single step before collapsing onto the bed.

Sylvester and I reached for him simultaneously, and grabbed each of his arms. Then we pulled him up to us, so that he could lay down.

Tristan turned to face Ferdinand and Bellamy once again, but this time he was sporting a weary frown.

"Ferdinand, as punishment for your transgressions, you will spend this week doing your Mafia King duties. Coordinate with the other Kings and see who has an up and running facility to review and inspect. You are not allowed to touch me without my permission for one week. Doing so will only see your punishment extended." Tristan said, ignoring the pained shocked expression on Ferdinand’s face.

"Bellamy, you will spend a week working on a concrete formula for the inhibitors for the Lore’rahlye Omegas. Lyukhe is to get a month’s worth for free. And you must have a formula that can be sent to your company for mass production. I have no doubt that things are getting complicated for Waihlynn and Aidehynn by now. You are also banned from touching me for that week." Tristan said with a sigh.

I was shocked and terrified for another reason entirely. Tristan had found a way to help others and also damn the idiots in one swoop.

"And have no fear, if you boys do find the distance to be too much, I give you permission to entertain each other. In my presence of course. Now, leave." Tristan said, waving them off dismissively.

They shuffled out slowly, not daring to say anything to Tristan. I looked over at Sylvester, but he looked just as shocked as I was. We had advised lighter punishments, and even funny ones. But Tristan seemed to have ignored all of our suggestions and went for the jugular.

"Haah... I’m tired. Please hold me guys. I would like to sleep some more. Let’s skip breakfast and eat a big lunch instead." Tristan said, collapsing onto the bed in the space between me and Sylvester.

"Tristan? Are you sure you’re okay? Why are you so tired all of a sudden?" Sylvester asked, but Tristan was already fast asleep.

"I’m worried Cole. Tristan shouldn’t be this exhausted. Sure, this morning has been stressful and tiresome, but not like this." Sylvester said, snuggling in close to Tristan and rubbing his arm.

"Should we call Khali, later?" I suggested.

"Yeah, we should." Sylvester said, kissing Tristan’s cheek softly.

’Haaah... Please be okay, Tristan...’

Ferdinand’s Point Of View

"That’s no fair. I wanted a kiss too... This sucks..." I grumbled.

"No. You really don’t. That felt like he told me he hated me. I don’t want to experience that shit ever again." Bellamy said, looking completely volatile.

I was feeling a bit guilty, but it could’ve been much worse. I wasn’t happy about the outcome, but I was content that it hadn’t been extreme. That said, no matter what Bellamy said, I still wanted a damn kiss.

"What happened to Tristan, during the mating cycle with the pink syringe?" I asked Bellamy.

It wasn’t explained to me, and since Tristan seemed especially pissed, I didn’t want to ask at all.

"He was having terrible nightmares, and reliving past memories. They were pretty bad, now that I think about it. He became unhinged afterwards, and took that whole syringe on his own, despite Cole and I advising against it. It was rough."

Sylvester and I had been in Maihzdin for most of it, but seeing the aftermath was just as damning. But now I understood how things had gotten so out of control, and I felt like an even bigger dumbass.

"Did you notice how pale Tristan was? I’m sure it’s nothing, but he seemed uncharacteristically sick, no?" Bellamy asked, looking puzzled.

I had noticed it, and what’s worse was that I had also noticed that he was more tired then, than he had been when he bathed this morning.

"Yeah... I’m sure Sylvester noticed it too. Especially since he spent the night with Tristan as well. If they don’t do it, then I’ll have Khali give him a look over as well, later. He just seemed too pissed off for me to voice my concerns." I replied.

I stopped at my office door and looked back at Bellamy. He was staring off into the direction of Cole’s room. His sadness was still as daunting as before.

"I hope it’s nothing... this next week is sure to be hell..." He said, as he headed for the stairs not looking back.

"I’m sorry Bel. I know it means nothing to you right now, but I am sorry." I said to his back.

"It’s fine. Like Tristan said, I was too caught up in my amusement to think properly. This is on me too. But you’re wrong, it means a lot that you apologized, jerk..." He said, before disappearing down the stairs.

I opened the door to my office, and walked inside. If I was being honest I really did have a lot to do. A lot of work had piled up while I had been away, and I knew more had to be done about the other Kings and their facilities.

I grabbed a walkie-talkie out of my top drawer and began to push the communication button, but my office door opening halted my actions.

"Boss? I didn’t expect to find you here so early. Is everything okay?"

It was Zambian. I had been planning to call him just now. It was eerily perfect timing.

"Call Dominic. We have much work to do." I replied, resolutely.
