Chapter 119: Chapter - 119 Ferdinand On A Rampage
Bennhayzin’s Point Of View
5 Minutes Before The Siege
"Xander, Xavier I’m glad you could make it." Lyukhe said.
"Yeah well we didn’t really have much of a choice. Also since we weren’t planning on going to war, we don’t have much in the ways of artillery..." Xavier replied.
"It’s fine. You being here is what matters most." Lyukhe said.
We were all just outside the property line of the Chastaine estate. We knew she didn’t have much in the ways of an army, but that didn’t mean she didn’t have secret Military weaponry hidden in her fortress.
The thing about people who scheme and do underhanded tricks, they tend to live a life rife of paranoia and fear. So there was no telling what kind of bullshit she had up her metaphorical sleeves.
"Okay, is everyone here?" Lyukhe asked.
I did a quick head count and flinched when I saw Ferdinand and Sylvester. They were practically foaming at the mouth. I could practically see their pheromones rising up off their bodies in a thick haze.
One by one all eyes turned to them, and everyone who saw them gulped audibly and took a step back. Something else must have been happening to their bonded group. Something that we couldn’t see.
"Hey... Ferdinand, bro what’s–"
"We need to go, now!" Ferdinand said, cutting Sîvret off with his eyes burning a bright gold.
"You sensing it too, then?" Sylvester asked.
They both looked ridiculously sinister and their bloodlust was almost palpable. Waihlynn and Aidehynn had been fidgeting off to the side for a while now, but they made no attempt to talk to anyone.
"Yeah... For a while now, I’ve noticed that Cole’s connection with us is different from everyone else’s. His fear and disgust is overshadowing everything else..." Ferdinand said.
"We haven’t even had a chance to unpack all the effects and changes of our mating cycle yet. Haaah, things seriously never go as planned with that guy..." Sylvester chuckled, while slapping a palm against his forehead.
"Front line! Begin the first bombardment!" Gaibe yelled.
At those orders, Zachariah’s men and the DPD began their assault. They began throwing grenades and shooting rocket launchers at the high walls of the monstrous stone fence she had erected around her mansion.
The plan was to blast a hole in the wall and storm the estate. The police department and Zachariah’s men would handle creating a path, while we would utilize said path. The Demhongade Air Squad would work as a team to take out the falconets perched along the top of the walls so we could make a clean get away.
The assault team that comprised of all the Kings, would only attack once the falconets had been dealt with and a hole was made. At least that was the plan.
However....
"Shit! We are out of time!" Ferdinand said, his bloodlust reaching its maximum capacity.
Sylvester was no different, he was actually seething and drooling. The sight was akin to a starving carnivorous beast staring down its first meal in weeks.
"What the hell is wrong with the two of you now!?" I yelled, fearful for my own life as well as the others on our side.
"They... Ngh! Those bastards... They have induced Cole and Bellamy’s ruts... Ultimately inducing Tristan’s heat in the process!" Ferdinand said, just before he launched into attack mode.
"Hey! Wait!" Lyukhe called.
"The hole hasn’t been made yet!" Gaibe yelled.
"FUCK THE PLAN! TIME FOR PLAN B, AND I’M FUCKING STARVING!!" Sylvester yelled back.
Everyone was momentarily stunned, including the DPD and the frontal assault team. We all watched in complete shock and awe as Sylvester and Ferdinand mowed down everything in their path.
Sylvester snatched a rocket launcher away from one of Zachariah’s men, and shot it directly at the right side falconet. Ferdinand wasted no time repeating that same action and shot the left one. That left 6 more to contend with, but with them both aiming at the one sitting directly in the middle of the wall, that number quickly dropped to only 5.
With the rest of the falconets being out of range, Ferdinand and Sylvester continued on their sprint to the estate. The moment they were within range of the main gate, it slowly rose to reveal rows upon rows of men geared up for a show down.
"I’M ONLY GOING TO ASK YOU ONCE. WHERE IS MY MATE? IF YOU TELL ME, I’LL SPARE YOUR MISERABLE LIVES!" Ferdinand bellowed.
There was nothing but crickets to answer in reply. Ferdinand took a deep breath and crouched down low.
"LAST CHANCE!" He yelled again, angrily.
"I-I’m sorry sir... but we don’t know! M’Lady moved the captured targets to an undisclosed underground location... we are but pawns in this battle..." One solitary voice rang out from the crowd.
"If you value your life above trivial orders that would have you slaughtered in vain, step aside. I swear not to harm you!" Sylvester yelled.
The first line of infantry men moved aside immediately, the rest however, stood fast. I assumed they were all either stupid, lacked any preservation skills, or had low perception stats. Because even as strong as I was now, there was no way in hell that I would face those two when they were this blood-thirsty.
In the next instant, Ferdinand and Sylvester gave each other a nod and launched themselves feet first, into the crowd of men. The screams and blood splatter that followed were absolutely harrowing. I could see the other Kings flinch back for a moment in shock.
"Well, no need for those psychos to have all the fun! FOR OUR KING!" Sîvret yelled, as he too charged forward.
Having no choice we all took off at a quick pace to catch up with the two Kings putting the rest of us to shame. As we drew closer to the battlefield, I couldn’t help but laugh uproariously.
’Seriously! How fucking terrifying can you get?!’
Everyone slowed to a hault and looked between me and the battle before us. Surely they thought I had lost my mind, but how else was one supposed to react to such a terrifying scene?
"Where is my mate?!" Ferdinand demanded of a guard he had grabbed by the neck.
"I-I do not know!" Came the reply.
Then, Ferdinand ripped the man’s throat out with his fucking teeth and discarded him like a finished chicken bone.
"Where are the captives being held!?" Sylvester asked the next guy to be snatched up.
"They are underground! It cannot be reached from the main estate!" The man fearfully replied.
This reply slowed the carnage as they learned a bit more about the location they needed to get to. The man looked into Sylvester’s bright florescent eyes, and began to tremble.
"Do you know how to get there?" Sylvester asked calmly.
The man began to soil himself while crying. It would be comical, if the man’s life didn’t hang on the next words to come out of his mouth.
"N-No... Only her personal guards know the exact loca–"
The man never got to finish his statement, because Sylvester had snapped his neck. After about 10 men died, all having similar answers to the questions being asked, it was hard to say who the villains were. At the end of the day, these guys were just following orders so it was entirely possible that they had been kept in the dark to control the flow of information.
That said...
"Ferdinand, these men don’t seem to know much of anything... maybe we should use a different tactic...?" Lyukhe said.
Ferdinand began to growl deep in his throat and locked eyes with his next target.
"No, sir please! I don’t know anything! I’m sorry!" The man cried.
"Surely you jest. You don’t even know what I’m going to ask you yet." Ferdinand chuckled, blood oozing from his intimidating smile.
"S-Sir...?" The man whimpered.
"How many men are in Chastaine’s personal guard?" Ferdinand asked, pulling the man closer.
"F-Five... She has five men to serve in her personal guard. They are always nearby no matter where she goes..." The man said, trembling.
"See Lyukhe. There are clearly liars amongst these bastards. They expect us to believe that 5 men carried 10 unconscious people from the crash site to this underground location? How foolish." Ferdinand growled, and then ripped the man’s throat out as well.
"I’m willing to spare the lives of any of you who can point out the helpers. Don’t worry about any retaliation, I’ll even accept you into my faction if your information proves beneficial." Sylvester said.
There was a heavy pregnant pause, and then slowly but surely men started pointing fingers in all directions. The men who were being singled out became panicked and finally reached for their weapons. The rest of us saw the welcomed distraction as our chance to strike. We hadn’t needed to help Ferdinand and Sylvester because the men couldn’t open fire and risk friendly fire due to how close Ferdinand and Sylvester were to them.
But now we finally had a chance to do some work, and possibly save some of these miserable bastards. We all quickly slipped into their ranks and began to restrain the singled out men. We would lose valuable time just running around, so any information pertaining to the captives whereabouts was helpful.
"DPD, keep the gate open. Zachariah’s men, keep everyone in place. If anyone moves, kill them. Xander, advise the DAS to take out the remaining falconets. Sîvret and I will handle the interrogation. Ferdinand and Sylvester, you two should try to hone in on their location from above. If we can get a general area of location, we could find the entrance without relying on their lies..." I said.
My orders seemed to confuse some and calm the others. Ferdinand and Sylvester began to take deep breaths and slowly walk off in the same location.
’Haaah... let’s just hope these idiots don’t tell pointless lies... I’d like to sleep soon... Assholes...’
