Chapter 962: Chapter 533: Sure enough, trusting Sean Knight pays off!
The wolf lunged at Elder Hassan, who was in the midst of speaking, but the elder showed no sign of panic as he raised his gun and fired!
With a "bang," the wolf was sent flying!
It was then that Sean Knight noticed Elder Hassan was also wielding a somewhat old Type 56 assault rifle.
He suddenly recalled something, it seemed that the tribal elders here weren’t accustomed to using pistols; either they did not use guns at all, or they held those powerful automatic rifles or AK-series submachine guns...
Following Elder Hassan’s gunshot, the others began shooting one after another.
"Damn it, don’t use burst fire, shoot single shots or semi-automatic! Don’t you know how hard it is to come by these bullets?"
Elder Hassan scolded loudly while directing the combat.
Some people were used to burst firing, quickly emptying their clips with shots that didn’t achieve much.
The wolves were cunning too, after the first was shot dead, the rest scattered and didn’t rush to attack.
Their agile movements caused many shots to miss them completely.
As some people ran out of bullets and hurriedly changed their clips, the wolves sensed the decreased threat and swiftly changed positions, charging toward the crowd.
Amidst the howling, these wolves seemed intelligent, knowing they could gain an advantage once they broke into the crowd, obtaining the delicious food they craved.
Moreover, during their pounce, they kept close to the ground, minimizing their exposure to fire, as if they were cunningly aware!
Just as a few leading wolves were about to break into the crowd, the residents of the tribe began to panic; some retreated in terror, while others, armed with tools, charged out to fight the wolves.
At that moment, from a diagonally forward direction, crisp, rhythmic gunshots rang out, and the wolves charging forward collapsed one by one, not a single one breaking into the tribal circle.
The anxious Elder Hassan finally relaxed and let out a sigh of relief. He looked in the direction where the bullets had come from and saw that it was from the direction of Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings.
Among their group of five, aside from Clarence Hughes who was unarmed and protected in the middle, everyone else was armed with guns, either standing or half-squatting, shooting steadily.
With almost every shot, a wild wolf fell.
The sniper-like shooting by Sean Knight’s group stabilized the situation. As more and more wolves were killed, the remaining ones stopped attacking and fled after a sharp howl.
Still, the steady shooting continued, except for one wolf that disappeared into a mountain gorge, the rest met their end on the escape path.
After seeing the wild wolves all vanquished, the tribal residents paused, then burst into cheers.
Sean Knight and his companions were surrounded like heroes, and although they could hardly understand what the residents were saying, Sean could see their gratitude in their eyes and expressions.
Over thirty wolf carcasses were dragged over, which were valuable goods to the tribal residents.
Although there were doctrines to follow, clearly the wild wolves were not included in them.
As peace returned once more, Sean and his companions gave the rightful wolf carcasses to the tribal residents and continued their rest.
Breakfast then included wolf meat, which the tribe ate with eagerness, though Sean’s group was unaccustomed to it.
The next day at noon, the entrance to the Mine Cave was finally dug open, and the tribal residents cheered with happiness.
"Mr. Knight, let’s go inside and have a look!" Elder Hassan enthusiastically invited Sean.
"Let’s wait a bit longer, until the air inside stabilizes, then we can go in," Sean didn’t move, sensing the airflow and the foul smell emerging from the cave entrance.
Although Elder Hassan was impatient, he did not act on his own but trusted Sean’s judgment and motioned his subordinates, who were about to rush in, to stop.
Half an hour later, Sean stood up and said,
"Let’s go, we’ll head inside now, hoping to find something worthwhile."
The tribal residents, unable to wait any longer, had already positioned themselves at the cave entrance, and upon seeing Elder Hassan accompany Sean inside, they quickly stooped and rushed into the cave.
Clearly, they were acting as scouts.
The cave was cool inside, with the leading residents carrying flashlights, while Elijah and his group also switched on their tactical flashlights to illuminate the interior.
Once the lights were turned on, a large area was instantly brightened.
"What kind of light is this? It’s so bright?" Hassan asked in surprise, watching the lamp in Elijah’s hand that made the mountain cave as bright as daylight.
"It’s a high-lumen flashlight made in our country," Elijah explained with a smile, "Rechargeable, with both spotlight and floodlight modes."
He switched between the light modes to show Elder Hassan.
"How much for one?" Elder Hassan immediately took an interest in the equipment, "I mean, including shipping to my location."
"It’s less than 50 dollars domestically. Shipping here might make it more expensive," Elijah explained, "It’s considered a more expensive consumer product."
"It might be somewhat pricey, but it’s really practical. A lamp this bright is worth the extra cost," Hassan acknowledged.
Sean had used this lamp at night while crabbing, after seeing an online advertisement, he bought some.
Since his free time was short, he simply decided to give one to each of them as a gift.
After walking about thirty meters into the cave, everyone discovered that the opening was quite large, large enough to accommodate a small truck going in and out.
