Chapter 944: Chapter 526 Suppress with a Pee!_3
"Whether it’s useful or not, that’s the point."
Elijah Hastings didn’t expect Sean Knight to still believe in these things, laughed a little, and didn’t care.
He didn’t notice that the expressions on the heads atop the high tomb seemed to be slowly turning into ones of agony!
"Let’s go," Sean Knight said with some misgivings.
Although their goal had been achieved, the mysterious mastermind had not been found, and he felt somewhat uneasy.
"Are you guys alright?" Just over 100 meters back, the voice of Emily Kelley suddenly came from the roadside, "I saw the fire over there, so I just..."
"We’re fine, all good," Sean Knight replied with a smile upon seeing Emily Kelley’s genuinely concerned expression, "Look at us, both in good shape."
"That’s good," Emily Kelley relaxed and then asked, "That fire, those gunshots..."
"We had a fight with those people over there." Sean Knight pointed to the katana that Elijah Hastings held, "Those bastards weren’t as tough as us. Oh, by the way, that was the Xingya Guanyin Temple that moved here, and we burned it all down!"
"That’s great, that’s great!" Emily Kelley felt a bit exhilarated, "Those animals...good!"
The three of them relaxed and returned to where the car was hidden.
"Let’s not rush through the night. Let’s rest in the tent, and head back at daybreak," Sean Knight suggested. "Elijah, let’s find some water to wash up."
"I know where to find water!" Emily Kelley chimed in, "When I was looking for a place to hide just now, I found a little brook."
She led Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings to the brook.
"You guys wash up, I need to go relieve myself," Emily Kelley said, feeling a bloated sensation, as the tension from before had made her forget about using the restroom.
"Here, take this with you, give it a splash," Sean Knight suddenly produced a small memorial tablet, "It’s a Class B war criminal’s plaque, no harm in splashing that!"
Emily Kelley gave Sean Knight an annoyed look but, thinking about it, she took the plaque and headed towards the shrubbery.
"Boss, that move of yours...is pretty wicked! But I like it!" Elijah Hastings said, laughing as he washed, "It’s much more powerful than the high tomb!"
"It’s different. That thing you used can intimidate a group of people. If any of their accomplices come over, they’ll probably have to think twice."
After washing up, Sean Knight shook the water droplets from his hands and then saw Emily Kelley standing up behind the shrubbery, her head poking out, looking troubled as she said:
"Mr. Knight, that memorial tablet..."
"Leave it there," Sean Knight said nonchalantly, "Let it enjoy itself."
Emily Kelley glared at Sean Knight with a blush, walked out, and went to the brook to wash her hands.
She smelled the thick scent of blood but felt no fear at all.
Emily Kelley guessed that Sean Knight and his companion must have taken action and definitely killed more than one person.
But this did not frighten Emily Kelley.
On the contrary, she only lamented her lack of ability to deal with some things herself.
The three returned to the car.
Though they were quite tired, Sean Knight and Elijah Hastings weren’t sleepy, so they took out some items from their backpacks and started a picnic.
Emily Kelley grew to admire the two men even more—able to kill without a change in demeanor, they could still picnic here calmly as if nothing had happened. They were truly not ordinary people!
At daybreak, though the fire seemed to have died down, Sean Knight and his companions didn’t concern themselves with it any longer and drove away.
Lots of police cars were still at Xing Chan Temple, questioning people who had been in Small Town.
Sean Knight and his group had just arrived and were also among those being questioned. Luckily, they had a complete evidence chain for their entry and departure from Xing Chan Temple. Although they were a focus of the questioning, they were quickly cleared of suspicion and notified they could leave.
After driving away from Xing Chan Temple, a group of people came from another direction to the new site of Xingya Guanyin Temple.
Brooding at the sight of the fire, those people hurriedly sped up and drove over in three cars.
Upon seeing the high tomb at the entrance, someone shouted angrily:
"Dammit!"
Some people rushed down impatiently without waiting for the cars to stop, and then they saw the painful expressions on the heads atop the high tomb!
The expression on each head appeared as if it originated from extreme torture.
And these expressions were all different, with no two the same!
"Who did this?! Who?!" A short middle-aged man jumped out of a car, yelling furiously, "I’m going to tear him into pieces!"
"President, look inside..." someone said timidly, pointing Inside Courtyard.
"Ah—"
Barely discerning the burning buildings, the man was going mad—decades of his and his forefathers’ work were at stake here!
He hoped against hope that nothing had happened to the items inside!
Although he knew it was impossible, he still ran toward Inside Courtyard, hopeful.
Arriving near the buildings, seeing all of them had burned down without exception, he collapsed onto the ground with a "smack," his face showing an expression of agony:
"It’s all gone, all of it! I’m definitely going to find that person, I’ll make sure he dies a horrible death..."
His followers arrived, each stepping cautiously, none daring to speak.
There was truly nothing left here.
The headless bodies attracted many flies, some already laying maggots on the corpses, and the stench of decay pervaded the air.
What was once a glorious and solemn place now lay in broken walls, still emanating waves of heat.
Clearly, the fire had been set overnight.
As the followers considered the defensive force that was here, they felt daunted— it was a Top Ninja, two Yokozuna, along with a bunch of Ninjas!
Now it was evident that not one had escaped!
All had been killed!
That kind of armed force must have been formidable to have accomplished such a feat!
They certainly didn’t dare to clash with such people!
Though the pile of heads on the high tomb wasn’t large, it nearly terrified them out of their wits!
They often visited Avalokitesvara Temple, with belief in gods and Buddha deep in their bones.
No one wanted to die and become Wandering Ghosts, suppressed forever, never to find salvation!
Seeing the expressions of those people, one could imagine the immense pain they suffered!
What the people in these cars didn’t notice on their way over was that another car had silently followed them.
