Chapter 892: Chapter 509: A Laboratory with a Unique World of Its Own_2
"Impossible. We’ve conducted drug experiments on Chinese people, but not only on them—we’ve tested on white people, black people, and others as well. If there were any real harm to the body, why would I let you use it? Rest assured!"
Molly finished dressing and left the laboratory. Just before she departed, she kissed Sean Knight. She was quite infatuated with the masculine scent that lingered on him.
This was not characteristic of Molly’s usual behavior. In the past, whenever she encountered similar prey, she would play with them like a praying mantis before ruthlessly discarding them once she was done.
This was the first time Molly felt it necessary to keep Sean Knight around for the long term, by her side.
The drug testing continued the next day.
In the morning at the gym, while Sean Knight was running, several people in the corner were whispering among themselves.
Sean Knight could tell that they were talking about him.
Molly had been coming to his room after lights out for several days now, leaving only an hour or two later. What they were doing was something any normal person could guess.
However, Sean Knight had no intention of explaining himself or doing anything about these people.
After all, his cover was Luke Anderson; there was no need to create unnecessary complications.
Yet, someone else didn’t see it that way.
Just as he finished running and was about to start working on other fitness equipment, Zoe Wilson hurried into the gym.
Milan Collins was following behind her.
Upon seeing Sean Knight, Milan Collins couldn’t hide his schadenfreude.
Zoe Wilson, restraining her emotions, asked him, "Luke Anderson, the person in the hallway after lights out last night, was it Professor Molly?"
Sean Knight glanced at her and nodded.
"She was there to see you?"
Sean Knight nodded again.
"What... what did you do in the room?" Her voice trembled as she spoke.
Sean Knight didn’t respond and continued to work out.
"What else could they have done? It’s the kind of thing men and women do!" Milan Collins interjected sarcastically from the side.
"What he... what he said... is it true?" Zoe Wilson’s shaky voice fixed on Sean Knight, hoping to hear a denial from him.
However, to her anger and disappointment, Sean Knight nodded.
"You... you... you’re shameless!"
Zoe Wilson cursed and stormed out.
Milan Collins looked at Sean Knight triumphantly, then chased after Zoe Wilson.
"Zoe, you don’t deserve to be upset over someone like him. His lack of self-respect is a reflection of his character. Getting angry over someone else’s mistakes is simply not worth it!"
Milan Collins followed Zoe Wilson back to her dormitory, offering insincere consolations.
Zoe Wilson didn’t respond; she was genuinely hurt.
She didn’t give Milan Collins a warm reception either.
The news spread quickly among those involved in the drug tests. By noon, when Sean Knight was eating, the glances directed at him were much more complex.
Some people showed disdain, others ignored him. Some were jealous, and some were curious.
Sean Knight’s surroundings became conspicuously empty as no one approached him.
But none of this could affect Sean Knight’s mood.
He finished his meal at a leisurely pace, returned his dinner plate, and went back to the dormitory.
Molly had mentioned a blood test every five days, but Sean Knight did not want to wait until the last moment.
Adding medicine powder to the bloodstream wasn’t without risk. Sean Knight wanted to resolve this matter before the second blood test.
As far as he could see, there were no more secrets in this laboratory.
The only things of value were the raw materials behind the tightly locked alloy gate and the documents in the closed-off laboratory.
If Sean Knight could just manage to get hold of these items, then this special treasure hunt would be over.
Sean Knight became even more reclusive next.
Because of his relationship with Molly, everyone outwardly began to scorn him, and with Milan Collins stirring the pot behind the scenes, people pointed and whispered wherever Sean Knight went.
Since Sean Knight was a formidable presence, no one dared to act up in front of him, but stares were unavoidable.
Sean Knight didn’t mind this at all—in fact,
Without anyone bothering him, he found he had even more time to think of a solid plan. When no one was paying attention, he would take what needed to be taken and then leave.
However, after calculating, Sean Knight concluded that it would be nearly impossible to carry out this task without making a sound.
Might as well go big then!
The night before the blood test, Molly came to Sean Knight’s room once again.
Repeating his previous tactic, Sean Knight switched Molly’s clothes onto himself, altered his face, put on a wig, and left.
The lighting in the hallway wasn’t very bright, but it didn’t hinder Sean Knight’s actions.
He quickly headed to the monitoring room and discovered the security guard clandestinely watching an adult movie on the computer. After knocking on the door, Sean Knight entered with a stern face.
"Hmm?"
Sean Knight made a nasal sound.
"Director Molly..." The security guard was startled and stuttered in response as he stood up uncertainly.
Sean Knight approached the security guard, who suddenly sensed that something was off about Director Molly. Just as a question arose in his mind, Sean Knight struck him on the neck with the palm of his hand. The guard’s eyes rolled back, and he slumped to the ground, unconscious.
After eliminating the threat in the monitoring room, Sean Knight didn’t waste any time. He swiftly made his way to the innermost room on the second floor and used an access card to open the always-locked alloy gate.
Inside the gate were the targeted drug raw materials, worth several tens of millions of dollars!
This was based on the materials Sean Knight had seen over the past two days, which he then relayed to Lincoln Harrington, who made inquiries through external contacts.
