Chapter 889: 508
Sean Knight was speechless. Was he being treated as a confidant for venting frustrations?
After running, Sean Knight moved on to the fitness equipment, and Zoe Wilson followed, watching him exercise and occasionally striking up a conversation.
Though Sean Knight let most of it go in one ear and out the other, he still learned quite a bit about this sweet-looking girl overall.
The impression wasn’t very deep, but one thing did stand out: he hadn’t expected Zoe Wilson to come from a well-off family yet choose to earn money by testing drugs, all for the sake of independence, to see how she could survive without relying on her family.
She was also skeptical about the experiment, however, she didn’t think too much of it.
After money was distributed in the morning, many people were happy, so there was a lot of chatter during noon dinner.
Milan Collins didn’t trouble Sean Knight at all that day, which Sean Knight was more than happy about.
However, during dinner, Zoe Wilson sat across from Sean Knight, which made Milan Collins’ gaze become complex again.
After dinner, everyone mostly returned to their dormitories.
Having stayed there for more than two days, people started to get used to it. The doors to the dorms were not closed, and there were small groups chatting and getting to know each other.
After all, they were now in the same city, and most were long-term residents, so getting acquainted was also about networking.
Milan Collins was the most active among them, and his room held the most people.
Zoe Wilson came to chat with Sean Knight, however, she didn’t come in but chatted idly at the entrance, leaning against the door frame.
Sean Knight was also responding intermittently.
He was puzzled as to why the girl wouldn’t "take the hint" despite his attitude.
Thus, day passed.
When lights-out time arrived, the hallway quieted down.
Most people fell asleep quickly.
Sean Knight, however, heard footsteps.
He sighed; what was inevitable was bound to come.
However, this was also a good opportunity for him to do some preparation work.
Sean Knight wasn’t the only one who heard the footsteps; others did too.
But since someone was taken away during daytime, no one dared to come out—they still remembered what Andrew Thompson had said about not wandering around at night.
Sean Knight’s dorm room door was locked from the inside.
However, the steps stopped at Sean Knight’s dorm entrance.
A hand reached for the handle, twisted it, but couldn’t open the door.
Molly Wilson wore an expression of "I knew it" and pulled out her access card, which she swiped on the door, and it opened.
She entered the room and casually closed the door behind her.
In the dorm, Zoe Wilson asked her roommate in a soft voice:
"Who do you think she’s looking for?"
"Who cares who she’s looking for, as long as it’s not us," Zoe Wilson’s roommate felt uneasy, too. She didn’t want to lose the job that paid 900 dollars a day, so she forced herself to stay.
Right now she didn’t want to deal with anything. She just hoped to fall asleep quickly to stop enduring the pain.
Zoe Wilson guessed the visitor was probably looking for Sean Knight, but she had no evidence, nor the courage to open the door to check.
In Milan Collins’ dorm, people were guessing as well:
"Bro, who do you think she’s looking for?"
"I don’t know," Milan Collins said indifferently, "Who cares? As long as it’s not us. Just sleep."
Milan Collins actually had a pretty good idea—it must be that Molly Wilson—he recognized her footsteps.
And Professor Molly was surely there for that "Luke Anderson."
After all, on the first day, Molly had shown a different attitude towards Luke.
Truth be told, Milan Collins was somewhat envious.
But helpless. Indeed, his looks had attracted many, but also repelled others.
If he was so proud at that time in the domestic scene, now that he was abroad, he knew how pathetic that pride was—his type of good looks didn’t appeal in Europe and America; moreover, he was now aware that this "sickly" beauty was actually a distorted result of cultivation.
It’s a shame he was so proud of it back then!
When Molly entered, Sean Knight sat up, and as the lamp lightened the room, his face showed an appropriate look of surprise.
"Haven’t you slept yet? I came to check on your body," Molly was still wearing her white coat, but Sean Knight could see that underneath, it was likely nothing.
What was this?
A uniform?
Molly, observing Sean Knight’s bared upper body, the muscles not particularly prominent but well-defined, felt her heartbeat quicken, her cheeks flush with color—it was exactly what she wanted, wasn’t it?
She already regretted not coming over last night.
Molly hurried over, sat next to Sean Knight, and reached towards his chest.
Sean Knight backed away slightly, Molly thought it was a subconscious movement and giggled:
"What are you afraid of? I’m a professor, you can think of me as a doctor too. I’m professional, this is to check your body..."
She felt she could hardly control herself anymore.
Suddenly, Sean Knight spoke up:
"Professor Molly, is this drug experiment harmful to us?"
Molly suddenly felt Sean Knight’s voice so magnetic, then she smelled a pleasant scent, and danger plunged her into a rosy fantasy.
Watching Molly collapse onto the bed, her hands wandering over herself, Sean Knight’s gaze fell on the access card on her chest.
He reached out and took the access card, then removed Molly’s white coat—indeed, underneath it was a vacuum.
Molly showed no sign of awareness of Sean Knight’s actions, still lost in her rosy dreams.
Sean Knight added an extra ingredient in the powder medicine, enough to make Molly feel drained when she woke up.
