Chapter 875: Chapter 503: Mistaken for a Thief! _3
Sean Knight’s attitude had suddenly changed, which caught Elijah Hastings by surprise.
It wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision for Sean, but because India had confiscated tens of billions of assets from a certain Chinese enterprise.
Such actions had been taken more than once, so Sean believed it was best to avoid long nights full of dreams and get those pieces of wood moved out as soon as possible.
Although Elijah didn’t understand why Sean was doing this, it didn’t stop him from going over to notify Riley Montgomery.
Riley was understanding, and immediately got the point, telling Elijah,
"Mr. Hastings, please inform Mr. Knight that I will try to chop down the more valuable and worth money trees as soon as possible."
With that said, Elijah seemed to grasp something as well and gave a very detailed reply to Sean.
Once Sean knew that Riley had understood his intentions, he no longer concerned himself with the matter.
In the following week, Sean and his companions kept a low profile, staying in Dutt’s Manor, until Howard Richardson gave him a phone call which revealed to Sean that he had become an online sensation!
"Little brother, have you been to Sri Lanka recently? Everyone is looking for you online now!"
"Looking for me?" Sean was startled, but he pretended to be confused, "What are you talking about?"
"It’s not you?" Howard wasn’t certain, as the photos that appeared online were quite blurry, which was why he had called to ask.
"I’ve been here in India all along, only went into the jungle for a treasure hunt a while back," Sean said vaguely, "What’s the situation? Tell me."
Howard recounted the online events, then said,
"Now people from the Four Major Sects are looking for him. Some say that person got the Treasure from Adam’s Peak. Some say that person might be a reincarnation of a saint. Others believe that person must be researching the secrets of Adam’s Peak... In short, if it’s you, you need to be very careful!"
Sean was somewhat alarmed and, after exchanging a few vague words with Howard, hung up the phone.
This was getting serious!
He was currently in India, and the country was relatively open-minded about religion, where devotees’ faithfulness to their religion was widely recognized.
After all, they were the people who had the audacity to rebel just because bullets were greased with ox fat—likely not much has changed since then, right?
Sean felt he might need to lay low.
A wise man does not stand under a wall that is about to collapse!
Just then, Tomoko Haruda regained consciousness and Dutt had her brought back from the Hospital to his Manor.
No matter how, Sean’s acquisition of the Divine Serpent couldn’t have happened without Tomoko’s involvement.
Though not fond of Tomoko, Dutt was clear about debts of gratitude and planned to let her recover at his Manor.
As soon as Tomoko was back, she called for Cheryl.
Sean straightforwardly did not go, and informed Cheryl that the Treasure division belonging to his side would be handled by her.
"What about Elijah and his group?" Cheryl felt it was okay for Sean not to take a share, but Elijah and his two companions had also contributed significantly. It would be unjust if they received nothing.
"Don’t worry, there’s a share of the fine wood for them," Sean said. He never let his three companions return empty-handed from a mission.
This time, he intended to give Elijah and the two others one piece of old mountain sandalwood each as a gift.
Money was not a thing they lacked, but old mountain sandalwood, such rare wood, might be unobtainable even with money at times.
So a piece of wood each, in monetary terms, was worth tens to hundreds of millions of dollars—not a small sum at all.
Only then did Cheryl relax.
"There’s also one for you in this wood," Sean said with a smile, "Top-grade rosewood, which should be valued by those who know their stuff in the upper-class society of Europe."
Cheryl, well aware of Sean’s affection for her, obediently stepped forward and kissed him, then went off to discuss the Treasure’s division with Haruda.
Dutt, too, did not attend, merely sending a butler to be present.
The division of the Treasure was straightforward and done according to the original agreement. The primary concern was some precious metal utensils whose appraisals varied quite a bit, so they could easily cause disagreements.
Of course, both Cheryl and Dutt’s butler were magnanimous, so the matter was resolved quite amicably in the end.
Cheryl got some jewelry she liked and some gold and silver artifacts.
If ordinary people were carrying such things, it would likely be difficult to leave India. However, Cheryl was an exception to this rule.
After the division was concluded, Sean and his group stayed in the Manor for two more days, and then he followed Riley to Bombay.
The main reason was that the warehouse they had rented there was ready, and Riley, with his team, had already begun transporting the wood to that location.
Among them were more than seventy pieces of precious old mountain sandalwood!
Unleashing these into the market all at once could definitely disrupt the world market for precious rosewood!
However, the wood wasn’t fully dried yet. According to Riley, the wood was kept in the warehouse to dry while waiting for the Cargo Ship to arrive.
Sean naturally understood. After all, with India’s fickle policies, it was better than waiting for a long time. Drying the wood elsewhere after transportation was essentially the same.
Upon arriving in Bombay, Sean and his group reached the warehouse, which was some distance from the Pier.
"Renting space near the pier is not cheap, and additionally, we need a large warehouse, which we couldn’t find near the pier," Riley explained, worried that Sean would be dissatisfied.
"Fine, just put the wood in there," Sean was not fussy. This was an international pier; a bit farther meant a bit farther. There were professional machines to transport the wood, and as long as the money was given, it was fine.
Of course, Sean’s visit wasn’t just to check the Location of the warehouse.
After Riley and his men had unloaded the more than seventy logs of old mountain sandalwood, Sean told him he wanted to keep one of the keys to facilitate transport when the ocean-going cargo ship arrived.
Riley naturally had no objections.
After Riley and his team left, Sean immediately entered the warehouse and took the more than seventy logs of old mountain sandalwood into his spatial realm.
Only there would they be most secure!
