Chapter 741: Chapter 457: Hot Potato

Sean Knight took Elijah Hastings and the others circling around in the sea and on the island, but they didn’t find anything.

With no results, everyone was somewhat frustrated.

If there had been no planes on the island before, it would have been alright. But now that there were planes and an airport on the island, it could become a serious problem if anything happened.

Noticing Sean Knight’s displeased expression, Lincoln Harrington reminded him:

"Boss, planes are falling from the sky and we’re searching on the ground. Isn’t it likely that we won’t find anything? Could it be something that can only be observed from the sky?"

Upon hearing this, Sean Knight smacked his forehead:

"Right, why didn’t I think of that? Call the pilot, let’s take a small plane and scout from the air."

There were three planes on the island, with a Gulfstream available and the Boeing off picking up guests along scheduled routes. The regional passenger plane was still available.

Sean Knight and the others got onto the regional passenger plane, and after taking off, they looked down from the sky.

"Looking at our island now, it’s really beautiful!"

On the plane, Douglas Cooper exclaimed, "It’s really big!"

Sean Knight also looked down, focusing on the surroundings of the island. The island had just been finished, so it was highly unlikely that the issue was something on the island itself.

Last time, when the plane went down, the island hadn’t been fully developed. So, Sean Knight speculated that something in the surrounding sea might have affected the plane.

Of course, it was just a guess.

After taking a look around, they hadn’t identified any problems, but they did spot a large number of ships at the crash site!

With just a glance, Sean Knight knew that these were not the boats that usually docked at the port on the island. Half of them were yachts, a quarter were motorboats, and there were even three salvage ships!

It was normal for salvage ships to come if the crash victims were of some importance.

But the presence of three salvage ships at once was a bit suspicious.

Aside from those dark ships, everything else looked pretty good.

Several beaches were crowded with people, but not overly so. After all, the newly developed beaches were quite large and could accommodate many people.

The port was as bustling as ever. Many of the boats were laden with goods, waiting for the guests on the small boats to come and buy.

From the plane, the airport below was clearly visible, and Sean Knight suddenly thought about security issues.

Would it be necessary to install some anti-aircraft guns around the island?

Otherwise, if someone really wanted to cause trouble from above, it would put them at a huge disadvantage!

Sean Knight considered each situation as it came to mind. Regarding anti-aircraft measures, he thought it would be most appropriate to place them where he lived, in the residential area.

It’s best to place some in space as well, including anti-aircraft missiles and such.

In the past, when taking flights, he seldom considered so many possibilities. The primary purpose then was to travel.

Now, as they hovered in the small plane, looking down at the situation below, they immediately experienced a kind of overlooking and overwhelming sense of momentum.

Were someone to hover over the residential area or beach in a helicopter, spraying hundreds or even a thousand bullets, the area below would be left in ruins.

Hopefully it would not happen, but it’s better to be prepared.

After keeping this in mind, Sean Knight instructed the pilot to make a larger circle.

The whole big island was hundreds of kilometers in circumference. With the regional passenger plane flying at around 600 kilometers per hour, it took about ten minutes to circle it. If they were to make a larger circle, it would take about twenty minutes to half an hour.

When they flew over the crash site again, Sean Knight was surprised to find that there was already a seaplane on the water and a light helicopter hovering in the sky above.

This seemed to be a large-scale operation!

At first, Sean Knight speculated that the person who died must have been a billionaire - a young one - else they wouldn’t have had so many Bitcoins.

But now it seemed the situation might have changed.

He clearly saw that among the boats below, there were not only commercial salvage boats. There were at least three boats with police and government markings!

This guy had quite a backstory!

Sean Knight briefly considered it, then set the thought aside and continued looking down.

After flying another circle, they didn’t make any discoveries.

"Boss, do you think we’re not flying high enough?" Douglas Cooper suggested.

Since they hadn’t found anything, everyone was in a bad mood and so considered all kinds of possibilities.

Hearing Douglas’s words, Sean Knight felt that they made sense!

On long flights, regular large planes usually fly in the stratosphere where the air currents are stable, for steadier flight.

At their current height, they were in the troposphere, so it was possible they might not be able to see things that could be seen from a higher altitude.

Sean Knight then told the pilot:

"Increase altitude a bit more, and circle a few more times."

The pilot did as told.

However, at the bottom of the stratosphere at an altitude of 10,000 meters, the air temperature was a bit low.

At this height, they actually saw the island become somewhat smaller. If they were to spot anything, it was almost impossible to see small things with the naked eye.

So Sean Knight kept reminding the pilot to be careful and to speak up immediately if anything was spotted.

After flying at this altitude for a while and not finding anything, Sean Knight decided this method wasn’t working. He likened it to looking for a needle in a haystack and ordered the plane to descend.

After all the commotion and still coming up empty-handed, Sean Knight was a bit frustrated.

However, he was also aware that it wouldn’t be easy to find the root cause. If it were easy, arriving flights would have discovered it already - it wouldn’t need to wait for him to figure it out.

Putting this matter aside, after Sean Knight and the others had dinner, they got on a yacht and headed out to the crash site in the sea.
