Chapter 720: Chapter 449: The First Move is a Bomb!_2
Old Master had taught long ago, when sugar-coated shells come, eat the sugar coating and throw the shells back!
If someone is fishing for you, eat the bait and spit out the hook!
Sean immediately called Charles Young and asked him to bring the Gulfstream back, as he needed to use it himself.
Soon, the Gulfstream returned, and Sean said goodbye to his family and left Big Island for New York on the plane.
Not only Sean was on the plane, but also Elijah Hastings, Lincoln Harrington, and Douglas Cooper.
"Boss, what is this operation about?" Douglas asked Sean softly.
"Protecting me is enough. I’m going there to buy something."
"Understood." Douglas smiled and acknowledged clearly.
Then Sean heard Douglas and Luna Turner talking.
Luna prepared the fruits while asking Douglas:
"Is your boss often this busy? Is he going treasure hunting this time too?"
"The boss’s itinerary is confidential, and what he’s going to do is for him to consider. We just need to protect the boss."
"Oh, you’re quite keen on keeping secrets."
"Hehe. By the way, when we get to New York, if I have time off, I would like to invite you to go shopping and have dinner together. How about that?"
"Sure, I haven’t been to New York before either...anyway, let’s stop here. I’ll serve the fruit first to the boss."
Luna smiled, brought the fruit to Sean, and after asking if he needed anything else, she left.
Sean thought to himself that Douglas has at least learned to keep his mouth shut tighter.
At least he wouldn’t talk carelessly anymore.
When they arrived in New York, it was already afternoon.
Sean arranged for the crew to stay at the hotel and then he took Elijah and the others directly to the villa.
Since it was an urgent matter, Sean didn’t inform Joanna about it and instead planned to deal with it first before seeing her.
When Sean entered the villa, he found that the two retired veteran soldiers were on edge. Kathy appeared at the College Gate and talked with them for a while until they relaxed.
Sean could tell that both of them carried guns and had strong combat instincts.
That made him feel a bit more reassured, knowing they could react quickly if something happened.
"Mr. Knight, I didn’t expect you to come so soon."
"With so many items, some even reaching the level of national treasures, how can I not rush over?" Sean replied with a smile.
"The original owner of these items is looking for them now." Kathy whispered as she led Sean into the villa:
"The owner of the exhibition was an oil businessman. After making his fortune, he quit the business world and started trading antiques.
This time, he is furious about losing so many items and has hired quite a few people to find them. However, they haven’t found Mr. Pelos, who contacted us, yet."
Sean secretly complained to himself, what a terrible name, it must be fake, right?
"Then contact him, and let him come to see me tomorrow morning. It’s best if he brings the items so I can estimate their value."
"Alright. Dinner is ready, Mr. Knight, please have it first."
As soon as Sean entered the room, he could smell the fragrance. Seeing the steaming dishes on the table, his mouth watered.
He invited Elijah and the others to eat together. Kathy watched as Sean and his party wolfed down the food, a smile on her face.
How long had it been since Jeremy Knight had returned from a trip and she prepared a lavish dinner for him, occasionally serving him soup?
After dinner, Sean said to Douglas:
"You can hang out with Luna and the others if you’re free. Elijah and Lincoln are enough here."
"No, I’d better stay here. Let’s talk after the operation is over. This place is not like Africa. Although this wealthy district looks safe, who knows what might happen?"
Having heard that, Sean didn’t insist.
He always felt that this had a high probability of being a trap set against him.
Of course, he wasn’t afraid.
It’s just a matter of soldiers blocking the road, and soil and water flooding when they come.
There was no conversation for one night.
After breakfast on the second day, Kathy came over and said that Mr. Pelos would arrive soon.
Sean asked Elijah and the others to be careful.
About ten minutes later, there was the sound of a car outside, and the two retired veteran soldiers went to open the door. To Sean’s surprise, Pelos actually came alone.
He seemed to be around thirty-five years old, with a height of about one meter sixty, of mixed race, and appeared somewhat slick, but his eyes betrayed his shrewdness.
"Hello, Mr. Knight." Pelos’ eyes lit up when he saw Sean:
"I’m Pelos. I have some things here that I think you might be interested in."
"Bring out the items and let me see." After offering Pelos a seat, Sean continued, "Words alone are not enough. I traveled all the way from Asia to here just for your words. It’s time for you to show your sincerity."
"Of course!" Pelos took a small cloth-wrapped package from his pocket, and as he unwrapped it, a jade figurine appeared in front of Sean.
The figurine was kneeling.
It was obviously old jade with stains, but it had an evident patina and was very old.
Kathy personally served tea to Pelos. His courage to come alone to meet and negotiate was enough reason for her to respect him and offer the tea.
Then Kathy saw the expression on Sean’s face.
The look of appearing calm on the surface but actually being a bit nervous and excited!
Others might not be able to see it, but Kathy was certain that was Sean’s current mood!
