Chapter 636: Chapter 414: The Clever Hunter Often Appears in the Form of Prey
Originally, Douglas Cooper had planned to invite Sean Knight and his friends to his home to have a good time for a few days.
But because of the phone call, this plan had to be shelved.
"How about we stay here and have fun for two days, and then we go to the Big Island?" Sean Knight suddenly said, "It’s a good opportunity to take our minds off things."
"Sure!" Elijah Hastings responded enthusiastically. Even the usually quiet and opinion-less Lincoln Harrington agreed for once:
"I think it’s a good idea!"
Douglas knew well that his boss and Elijah wanted him to feel better.
After all, they couldn’t intervene in his family affairs, but they could try to create a relaxing atmosphere outside of that context.
"I heard that they’ve already built quite a few tourist facilities there, and several groups have toured from here, receiving favourable feedback."
Sean Knight remembered the phone call Lana Brown had made to him and said:
"We can go there and have fun with the crowd. It’s not as enjoyable with just the four of us, but with a lively atmosphere and plenty of people, it’s much more fun!"
"So, we happily decided on that!" Elijah said, hugging Douglas. "Alright, let’s go ashore, get some supplies, and try the local cuisine here..."
As the yacht entered the port, Douglas’s mobile phone rang again, but he didn’t answer it this time.
Although he couldn’t completely let go of his troubles, temporarily setting them aside was a solution.
The port was bustling and busy, with countless boats coming and going. Their yacht didn’t stand out – especially when Sean Knight saw the nearby 100,000-ton giant container ship, making him feel the yacht was quite low-key.
After docking the yacht, Sean Knight and his friends left the port and went into the city.
This place used to be a thriving hub for the Thirteen Lines, so it’s a bustling metropolis during peacetime. The whole city was filled with a vibrant atmosphere.
Sean Knight and his friends strolled around, exploring the area with curiosity and admiration.
These were the pioneering places of the time, known for their openness and inclusivity.
Two days later, they returned to the port dock.
While Sean Knight refilled supplies on the yacht, Elijah brought back some news.
"A fisherman nearby said they found a sunken ship in the South Sea near the Vietnamese border, and they’re hoping someone could help them salvage it –
And the news has already leaked, so those treasure hunters might be rushing over soon."
"A sunken ship?" Upon hearing this news, Sean Knight wasn’t particularly interested; he asked:
"Do they know when the ship sank? And what’s inside?"
Sean Knight had seen many sunken ships at the bottom of the sea. Ordinary merchant ships held no appeal for him. After all, the Min Kiln porcelain and other ancient Chinese goods that had been soaked in seawater were of low value. And the unique silk products of ancient China would be ruined after being soaked in water.
As for the spices shipped to China, over time, they became no different from garbage after being exposed to water .
Unless the sunken ship had a special purpose, laden with a large quantity of gold and silver or other precious metals, Sean Knight had no interest.
After all, those places were dangerous – although little Vietnam had been once defeated, it was on a national level.
A small yacht going there would simply be asking for trouble.
Without sufficient gains, Sean Knight thought it wiser to visit the Big Island and check out the development of the tourism industry.
After all, he didn’t lack money now.
However, what Elijah told him next changed his mind.
"According to the fisherman, there’s not just one shipwreck, but multiple ones, likely dating back to the late Southern Song Dynasty. At that time, not all of the Zhao royal family went into the sea but drifted on it with the royal belongings – before running into a storm."
"Is it true?" Sean asked doubtfully:
"If the news is true, shouldn’t the government have taken action already? After all, that’s the Zhao royal family – it could rewrite history!"
"It’s only circulating privately, and nobody dares to tell the government," Elijah guessed. "Once they inform the government, how could those finds end up in their own pockets?"
"Do we have the exact coordinates?" Sean asked, his curiosity piqued.
The last collaboration with the Brown family yielded mostly gold and silver.
There weren’t many significant cultural relics found in the sunken ship.
Sean and most people knew well that some genuine heirlooms were particularly prized, especially those of royal origin.
Elijah took out a map and pointed out the shipwreck location for Sean.
This map mainly showed the sea area, indicating that the location Elijah marked was close to the Southeast Peninsula coastline.
Technically, it was considered part of their territory now.
It’s difficult to determine who it used to belong to.
At one time, it was even a dependent state, with administrative institutions set up.
"Quite a sensitive location..." Sean muttered, noting the coordinates.
"Boss, shall we go?"
Elijah’s eyes were filled with the desire for adventure.
"Let me ask Lincoln and Douglas if they’re up for it. I’m okay with going or not going." Sean was genuinely indifferent about the information he had received, as the rumors’ authenticity was uncertain.
"Alright, I’ll ask."
Soon, Elijah returned with Lincoln and Douglas’s replies:
