Chapter 512: Chapter 353: The Golden Ship Relief and Belan’s Attack

The originally dark underwater space had a bend in the water flow, so it wasn’t too rapid.

There were some underwater creatures emitting faint glows that Sean had never seen before.

However, he merely glanced at these creatures as his attention was on the sacrificial implements that had sunk to the bottom.

Below, the water had created a hollow place where in addition to various sizes of golden ritual implements, there were many bones—mainly human bones.

Sean guessed that these should also be for sacrificial purposes.

He had read about some ancient Native American traditions in which boys were used as sacrificial objects to request blessings from the gods or to receive their grace, a very cruel practice.

However, primitive tribes around the world all started out in similar ways.

Sean silently mourned for those children for a moment before shifting his gaze to the ship.

He felt that there wasn’t much oxygen left in his lungs—he had to get back to the lake surface quickly!

As a result, after a glance at the ship, Sean picked up the sacrificial implements one by one and put them into the spatial realm, intending to go back to the surface immediately after collecting them all!

When he had collected all the golden sacrificial implements, Sky Eye suddenly sensed a strong energy fluctuation coming from something!

Sean felt it and discovered that it was a human spine—a small boy’s spine which was only about 20 centimeters long and filled with life energy!

Who was this person with such an abundant life energy in his bones?

Sean didn’t have time to think about it, as his lungs were already about to burst!

He grabbed the spine, and then after checking the other bones with Sky Eye and confirming there was nothing similar, he began to float upwards!

The process of going up was much smoother with the buoyancy of water. In less than half the time, Sean emerged from the water entry and immediately put on the oxygen mask nearby, turning on the oxygen switch at the same time.

After taking a deep breath, Sean felt like he had finally come back to life.

With oxygen, Sean was no longer in a hurry.

Underwater, he took out the golden ship and began to examine it carefully.

Judging by its weight, the golden ship seemed to be at least several hundred kilograms. It was exquisitely made, with lifelike relief paintings all over it, as if it were a comic strip.

Sean looked around and found the beginning of the paintings, carefully studying them.

The first painting depicted a glowing person giving a seed-like object to a woman.

Sean guessed that the glowing person should be the deity worshiped by this tribe.

The second painting depicted the woman giving birth to a child.

Sean suddenly had a hunch.

The third painting showed the child exhibiting a great ability: lifting a mountain by himself. Although it might be an exaggeration, Sean guessed that the triangle in the boy’s hand symbolized the mountain.

The fourth painting showed the boy in a fierce battle with a monster, surrounded by people cheering him on. The monster was much larger than the boy, yet he was fearless, attacking the beast with a weapon—a scepter—in his hand.

The scepter emitted a light that shot at the monster.

The fifth painting depicted the monster being killed and the boy dying from exhaustion, lying on the ground with people around him kneeling and worshiping him.

The sixth and final painting showed everyone forming a circle around a ship in the center. The boy’s body was on the ship, and his spirit had turned into a feathered serpent deity, hovering in mid-air, looking down at the people below with a majestic gaze as he radiated light.

So that’s how it was.

Sean understood the whole process: this energy-radiating boy was considered the son of the deity within the tribe.

His appearance at the bottom of the lake along with the ship was not because he was thrown away. Instead, upon his death, the tribe wanted him to return to the divine kingdom and had even specially crafted a golden ship to carry him.

Sean suddenly wondered: could it be possible that the rest of the boy’s body was inside the space beneath the water entry?

Before looking at the relief paintings, Sean had no intention of entering the space under the water entry.

However, after examining them and considering the powerful energy contained within the boy’s spine, Sean suddenly had a certain idea.

But now was definitely not the right time. He put away the golden ship and took out the other sacrificial implements, not finding anything special. However, a golden scepter was very exquisite.

This scepter, engraved with beautiful patterns, also contained some energy, but not much.

Sean looked at the intricately-patterned scepter and wondered if this was the scepter the boy had wielded in battle against the monster?

The scepter was about one and a half meters long, with a diameter of no more than three centimeters. It felt that it was not entirely made of gold. Sean activated Sky Eye to see that it was a copper pipe wrapped in a layer of gold.

If it were pure gold, the scepter would have been very heavy.

The approximately one-centimeter-thick gold layer on the outside had beautiful patterns carved on it, resembling the ancient cloud patterns of China, making it look very magnificent and grand.

Sean put the scepter away again, leaving only two items: a golden hammerhead and a golden feather headdress.

Carrying the two items, Sean slowly floated up.

Although the time spent was not long, Sean felt exhausted. After all, removing his diving equipment and going down there subjected him to the pressure of the water, and the near-exhaustion of oxygen had caused some damage to his body.
