Chapter 1363: Chapter 667: Openly Repair the Walkway, Secretly Cross through Chen Cang_3
"That drone is just like a toy!" Sean Knight pointed to the sky, "Isn’t it the same when someone turns it into a weapon?"
"Luckily, we’ve brought quite a few as well." Douglas Cooper smiled proudly, "When it comes to drones and anti-drone technology, we’re the best."
Everyone laughed. That’s right, after chasing for over a century, we’ve finally caught up, and some technologies have even surpassed—it’s a proud achievement!
Around the Campground, iron wire mesh was erected, and the team members didn’t work for long before Sean Knight told everyone to rest. Just clearing the trees around had taken quite a bit of effort.
Sergei picked up the drone that had been retrieved and was now researching it.
"This drone, it’s very expensive," Sergei said, "No one in the town could afford it."
He was originally going to give the drone to Sean Knight, but Sean Knight only wanted Lincoln Harrington to take the storage device and then handed the drone over to Sergei.
As nightfall approached, the team members who had gone out for reconnaissance came back to report that the nearest Diggers were three kilometers away. However, a few groups with clear intentions were moving closer in the direction of Sean Knight and his team.
Clearly, someone had informed them of their location.
"Sergei, I have a mission for you," Sean Knight thought for a moment before speaking, "Can you find the whereabouts of that Sedding as quickly as possible?"
Sean Knight was fairly certain that the one who had leaked their location was none other than that Sedding.
Sean Knight was here to have fun, not to play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So, he planned to nip all potential trouble in the bud.
"I can." Sergei, who had just received a valuable big "toy" which he was reluctant to put down but didn’t know how to repay, immediately agreed upon hearing Sean Knight’s mission.
"I’ll assign two team members to accompany you. When you find him, break his legs," Sean Knight said coldly. "If he dares to mess with us, he’d better be ready to pay the price!
It would be best if you could pry some intel out of him. Since this guy managed to get his hands on centuries-old golden coins, he definitely has sources of information!"
Sergei hesitated for a moment, but then gritted his teeth and agreed.
Once you’ve agreed, don’t have second thoughts!
"Boss, maybe we will catch a big fish this time!" Elijah Hastings said softly, watching Sergei leave.
"It’s possible," Sean Knight replied. "After all, this is an ancient empire—the secrets to discover are surely not few."
When night fell, Sean Knight and his team had a hearty dinner before resting.
After clearing an open area in the jungle, the high-power electric motors and flexible solar panels the team members had brought came in handy. There was light in the tents, but many people simply chose not to turn them on.
This place was already at about the same latitude as the Northeast back home, and it was already very cold at night.
Experiencing the long-missed wilderness made many team members lively. Some of them set traps around the Campground using available materials, while others bet to see if they could capture any big game during the daytime.
After Sean Knight entered his tent and lay on the bed, he waited until he felt that everyone had rested before quietly lifting the moisture-proof pad in the corner and removing a square piece of Soil. He carved out a pit that was two meters deep in the ground.
After entering the hole, Sean Knight began to dig diagonally toward the target point, carving out a corridor that was two meters high and one meter fifty wide—the Underground was damp, and in some places, water seeped out almost immediately as the soil was removed.
Sean Knight frowned; this wasn’t good.
But he couldn’t be too demanding; he needed to find the target point quickly.
Half an hour later, he had extended the Corridor to the Dense Forest 500 meters away from the temporary Campground. Despite being two to three meters Underground, there were still many tree roots visible.
Many trees had grown here.
Then, Sean Knight saw bricks appearing in the area he was clearing.
He had reached the spot!
Sean Knight took a breath. Although not physically exhausting and the spiritual energy was abundant, mental fatigue was inevitable.
After resting for five minutes, Sean Knight removed the brick wall in front of him.
A huge cavity was exposed, and a mixture of musty, rusty, and indistinguishable odors rushed out!
Sean Knight had held his breath early on. Still, he ended up covered in dust—a mix of all sorts of debris!
Once the gas had dissipated slowly, Sean Knight entered this long-sealed Underground Space.
As he entered, Sean Knight furrowed his brows.
Half of the items inside this Underground Warehouse were soaked in mudwater; he estimated that eighty percent of the soaked items were already damaged.
Sky Eye scanned—sure enough, most of the items that were soaked were military uniforms, garments, Shoes, etc., which had already rotted away.
Sean Knight didn’t even glance at these items and kept walking forward.
The warehouse was divided into several sections. After leaving one section, Sean Knight arrived in another. This one contained various armor and cannon parts, all crusted with rust.
Sean Knight collected some of the parts that were still in decent shape, roughly a few dozen Boxes in total.
They could be sold as spare parts.
Leaving this warehouse, he moved towards another big iron door.
A rusty iron lock hung on the big iron door. Sean Knight twisted the lock head off with one hand and pulled open the big iron door.
Inside the iron gate, neatly arranged, were Weapons!
Sean Knight now realized that this Weapons cache was from the German Army during World War II. When these people left, they didn’t take the Weapons with them—mainly Guns.
Rifles, Machine Guns, Pistols, Submachine Guns—all boxed up and laid together. After a Sky Eye scan, the Guns seemed to be in good condition, new, and the butter smeared on them had not completely dried due to the damp air, still providing a bit of protection.
Sean Knight smiled.
This had to be the biggest gain of the trip, right?
He quickly stepped forward and collected all the Boxes.
About fifty light and heavy Machine Guns, with Rifles being the majority—roughly 2,000 in total, and around 200 Pistols. The remaining ammunition Sean Knight did not count.
Last time he’d left some stock in the Middle East, now it seemed replenished.
After collecting everything, Sean Knight realized that the floor of the gun storage warehouse was covered with thick bricks, probably the reason they weren’t underwater.
In the next warehouse, Sean Knight encountered another "surprise"!
