Chapter 1351: Chapter 663: Topple the Demon, Starting with Unclawing!_3

"Inform Elijah Hastings and the others about these situations, so they’re not caught off guard in case something really happens."

"Sure thing!" Douglas Cooper happily went off to do so.

"Boss, our approach is still a bit risky," Lincoln Harrington commented after Douglas had left.

He had actually privately advised Sean Knight back on Big Island, but at that time, Sean didn’t seem concerned.

Now, seeing that Lincoln was still speaking about it, Sean knew it wasn’t out of fear but that Lincoln felt it wasn’t worth the risk. This task could totally be delegated to others. As long as the plan was detailed enough, nothing should go wrong.

For someone with Sean’s wealth, personally taking such risks was simply unnecessary.

"Tom, to be honest, if we’re really talking about it, I’m now considered a world-class rich. Many of the top 100 wealthiest people don’t have as much liquid assets as I do. So, I’m financially free, aren’t I?"

"Of course, you are," Tom agreed.

"That’s right. Since I’m financially free, I should be able to live as I please—given our ethical standards raised under the banner, we still have a moral baseline. We wouldn’t stoop to doing disgraceful things."

"That’s certain."

"Exactly. I’m just irked by the Sharde family, annoyed at how they’re bullying others with their power! I want to retaliate myself, and that’s why I’m here.

If I sent someone else, the deed would be done, but it wouldn’t be me taking action, and the thrill just wouldn’t be the same!"

Lincoln didn’t respond.

"Moreover, you’ve seen the plan I’ve made; I don’t want to put myself in danger. But a man must have goals.

As for me now, it seems like there’s nothing left to pursue. Treasure hunting is trivial and optional. So, I need to find myself a new goal. Otherwise, life feels empty.

Helping these people is my short-term goal. I once discussed with Douglas; when I see the oppressed here, it’s like seeing our people during the Anti-Japanese War.

At that time, there were few who helped us, and we longed for someone to assist us in our dire straits.

Now, I want to be the one providing assistance. Even though I’m not directly involved, seeing these people, who’ve lost their homes, capable of fighting back resonates with me deeply."

After a long speech, Lincoln nodded thoughtfully.

Indeed, upon reflection, ever since the three of them started following Sean, they could consider themselves financially free.

If they really left Sean now, they could live comfortably for the rest of their lives.

But, Lincoln found he didn’t truly want to leave.

They had grown accustomed to following Sean around the world on treasure hunts, resolving troubles, claiming territories, and gathering resources.

Compared to their previous lives, their days now were much grander, and they had gotten used to it.

Lincoln had thought about it; if he were to lead a mundane life now, he feared he wouldn’t be able to handle it.

"Alright, looks like something’s coming this way, let’s hide for now," Sean said thoughtfully, looking up.

The two of them went into the ship cabin, and shortly after, a large-size drone flew by, circling about two or three hundred meters above the ship before flying away.

"Elijah, how far are we from the destination?" Sean asked from inside the ship cabin.

"Over a hundred sea miles left, we should arrive by night," came the response.

"Then let’s get ready. I’m sure there will be some checks coming our way before night," Sean said:

"If it’s a helicopter or drone, we shoot it down directly. If it’s a warship, we’ll play it by ear."

Everyone on the ship was waiting. As the sun was setting and nightfall approached, a drone headed towards them!

"Armed drone with missiles!" Elijah Hastings, observing through a telescope, bellowed, "Everybody be careful!"

"I’ve got this!" Douglas, already prepared, appeared on the deck with a man-portable air-defense missile as soon as Elijah finished speaking!

At the same time, Lincoln and two other team members aimed their missiles at the incoming drone!

Sean, from another angle, had also lifted a missile!

The sight took the drone operator back on land by surprise!

Five missiles were fired in succession, and the drone attempted to evade, but such a saturation attack was too much for it to escape!

The sky burst into a dazzling display of Fireworks!

"Hahaha, what a beautiful shot!"

Excited, Sean tossed away the launch tube of the air-defense missile and said:

"Be careful, everyone, there will likely be retaliation soon. We need to head to the destination as quickly as possible!"

Elijah and the others knew Sean was right. Drones with "night vision" capabilities are fairly common, and they might find searching for and attacking the cargo ship easier at night than in the daytime.

The Truck sped up towards the Destination, and to Sean and his team’s puzzlement, they encountered no further interception on their way.

The destination was a simple pier. Once the ship was moored, Elijah shone a pattern with his Flashlight on the shore.

Suddenly, several dozen people surged out from the shore and ran towards the ship.

"Thank you all!" said the English-speaking leader to Elijah and his team.

"Let’s move the equipment first," Elijah said, "We encountered a drone on our way here, so we’re short on time."

The individuals swiftly began moving the gear.

The people had come from the Middle East, contacted through locals at the oil fields. They were trustworthy.

Sean stayed out of sight.

Before moving the items, Elijah showed the leading individual exactly what they were, garnering repeated thanks.

More than an hour passed, and the equipment was cleared. The folks quickly left, and everyone looked towards Sean, who had appeared on the deck.

"Boss, do we return, or..."

"Get off the ship first. Sink the Diving Equipment nearby," Sean suddenly said, "I have a feeling... this ship might have been marked!"

Elijah and the others quickly sank the diving equipment and Underwater propellers, marking the spot.

"Move! Let’s retreat to land and hide!" Sean spoke urgently.

The group immediately followed him ashore.

Only ten or so minutes had passed since they left when suddenly, several streaks of light lit up in the sky, targeting the cargo ship!
