Chapter 1302: Chapter 647: Infiltration in Disguise_2
"Hmm, I’ve checked the documents, and there seem to be about 300,000 Chinese here," Sean Knight said. "Australia has a large number of Chinese immigrants. It seems like migrating here is pretty easy.
There was a time when there was a craze to buy ranches and raise cattle in Australia. However, most people who came ended up regretting it."
"Why did they regret it?" Douglas Cooper asked, puzzled.
"Because the management and regulations for ranching and farming here are very strict, unlike back home where you can raise as many cattle or sheep as you want. There are also regulations on when you can slaughter the animals. It’s quite troublesome."
"You’re belittled away from home," Lincoln Harrington replied, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."
"Something like that. There’s quite a cultural difference," Elijah Hastings said.
"There’s no culture here," Douglas said as he watched two white men in the distance pointing and leering at three beautiful Chinese ladies, his expression full of lewdness and frustration:
"Originally, it was just a place for deporting criminals, just like the white people in America. Talking about culture...they’re nearly illiterate."
"Let’s go, we have serious business to attend to," Sean said.
After leaving the airport, Sean and his team checked into a hotel.
"This afternoon to evening, we’ll go out to scout the area. We’ll split into two groups," Sean said. "Mainly to check out the traffic, pedestrian flow, and perimeter security near the laboratory.
Also, we’ll check the vehicles that enter. If we can get their access card, that would be best. I’ll handle that."
The hotel where Sean and his team were staying was quite far from the research facility, which was not located in the city center but closer to the suburbs. There was not much pedestrian traffic, making surveillance potentially troublesome.
Douglas, using his gift of gab, bought a second-hand off-road vehicle in the Chinese District. He and Lincoln spent two hours driving around the research facility, then returned to report to Sean and the team.
"There are two security guards at the front gate of the research facility, the armed kind. In two hours this afternoon, five vehicles entered and exited: two vans, a sedan, and an off-road vehicle.
The vans had armed escorts, but it was unknown what they were transporting.
From the people who came out after work, the laboratory seems to employ over twenty technicians. They all wear badges, and their cars are parked in the outside parking lot. Secretly infiltrating will be difficult."
Sean nodded.
The research facility was surrounded by a college wall topped with iron wire mesh, possibly electrified. So, the best way to get in would be to obtain an access card or sneak into one of the arriving cars.
But the employees’ cars were all parked outside, so sneaking in that way wouldn’t be easy.
"Alright, grab some food and rest. I’ll take it from here," Sean said. "We’ll wrap up the remaining details tonight, sort things out before tomorrow, and then quickly leave this place."
Sean and his team drove the off-road vehicle near the research facility but kept their distance.
After all, they had driven around in it in the afternoon. If they did so again at night, Sean feared they might be detected.
Parking the car 500 meters away in a parking lot, Sean and Elijah got out. Elijah headed to a supermarket across from the research facility to pretend to shop and gather information, while Sean went to the parking lot.
There weren’t many cars in the parking lot at that time, and Sean guessed there weren’t many people on duty at night. He had planned to wait and see if anyone came out so he could mix in, but after waiting more than an hour, no one came out, which suggested it wasn’t feasible.
Sean thought about using an illusion skill to distract the security guards at the entrance but seeing the cameras at the front gate and those at the inside doors, he dismissed the idea.
Regardless, Sean’s plan was to at least survey the inside using Sky Eye if he couldn’t sneak in that night.
He simply changed clothes in a secluded corner of the parking lot, then walked out, disguising himself as a passerby to circle the research facility.
With Sky Eye activated, he clearly saw several laboratories located along the outer wall of the three-story building, and personnel were currently inside wearing protective suits to conduct experiments.
And unexpectedly, the research facility had two underground levels!
The basement was enormous, extending all the way to the surrounding wall, which allowed Sean to easily see that they were conducting very questionable experiments—
As in one of the rooms on the first underground level, people dressed in hospital gowns were locked in small rooms.
Their bodies and faces bore various scars and blisters!
This reminded Sean of the stuff he had dealt with in the laboratories he had infiltrated in Europe!
Damn, it was inhumane!
However, Sean knew he had to endure for now.
After understanding the situation, Sean went to the supermarket and signaled Elijah.
The two returned to the off-road vehicle together.
"It looks like they are conducting human experiments—or to put it another way, using medical science as a pretext to conduct some sort of biological virus experiments," Sean said.
Elijah fell silent for a moment before saying:
"Boss, when do we make our move?"
"Tomorrow. We’ll take care of a few people in the parking lot when they shift change happens, get the access card, then break in and blow it up!"
"Okay," Elijah nodded.
