Chapter 1241: Chapter 627: You Said It, but I Didn’t Agree - The Scumbag to the End

Kuala Lumpur, across from a certain courtyard, inside a coffee house.

The foot traffic here isn’t heavy, with only five or six guests in the coffee house.

A student-looking individual is quickly tapping away at a notebook on a solitary small table, it’s unclear whether he’s rushing a paper or writing a novel.

Two white-collar women are speaking in low voices, occasionally glancing over at the seats by the window.

There, two young men with upright figures are seated, both possessing rather fine temperaments, one calm, the other cheerful and active.

These two people are none other than Elijah Hastings and Douglas Cooper.

"Nothing much happening across the street," Douglas Cooper frowned, taking a sip of coffee.

"Just keep watching," Elijah Hastings’s gaze remained unchanged, "The boss has us watching for a reason—this is definitely a big target—even if everyone else doubts, you don’t, do you, Douglas?"

"That’s true," Douglas nodded, then suddenly asked, "By the way, how much money have you saved up now?"

"Several million dollars, I guess," Elijah Hastings replied, "I haven’t really calculated it. Anyway, since following the boss, I haven’t really spent anything, just saved. I gave part of it to my family—why are you asking this?"

"I’ve saved up nearly eight hundred million," Douglas boasted, "mainly because the boss’s two industries give us a lot of dividends. I plan to save up to 1000 million..."

"What for? Plan to retire once you hit 1000 million?" Elijah Hastings looked at him, asking.

"How could that be possible?" Douglas waved his hand dismissively, "Once I hit 1000 million, I won’t save anymore and will spend freely. Both of us know, after following the boss and encountering so many things we never could have imagined before, there’s no way we can go back to an ordinary life.

I’m thinking, maybe I should also do like the boss," he pondered with his chin propped in his hand, "buy houses around the world, find a few more girlfriends, have more children..."

"Why not," Elijah Hastings joked, "Two beautiful girls at your three o’clock position are staring this way. I bet if you initiate contact and ask for their numbers, they’ll definitely give them to you."

Since following Sean Knight and absorbing energy, the three, including Elijah Hastings, have experienced notable changes in both temperament and appearance. Not to mention other aspects, they were definitely more attractive to girls than ordinary people.

As soon as Elijah finished speaking, the two girls stood up and walked over one after the other.

The one in front, slightly shorter but curvy, addressed Elijah Hastings:

"Handsome, can I add your contact?"

Damn it, Elijah was taken aback for a moment. Why was it his turn all of a sudden?

Douglas Cooper, egging on, said:

"Of course, no problem."

The language they spoke was Chinese; the girls, the curvy one was obviously mixed-race, while the one behind seemed to be from a Chinese family.

And the girl was looking obviously at Douglas Cooper.

Douglas had not expected it to be his turn, but since he had egged Elijah on to agree to the girl’s request, he wasn’t going to act shy either. He stood up, pulling out a chair for the tall girl, and said with a smile:

"Beautiful ladies, please sit down."

The two girls took their seats, with the curvy girl taking the lead to ask:

"Are you guys here for tourism from China?"

"Yeah," Elijah smiled, "It’s my first time in Malaysia."

Douglas pointed towards the courtyard outside and said with a smile:

"Actually, we just like to look at old courtyards and buildings. The architecture here is different from back home. It’s quite fresh to us."

"That courtyard?" the curvy girl glanced at the quiet tall girl and said,

"Ah Mei lives nearby, and she’s quite familiar with that courtyard."

Elijah’s eyes lit up upon hearing this and he looked at Douglas.

Douglas understood, reached out for the waiter, and said:

"Two coffees for the beautiful ladies," then he turned to the two girls and asked,

"What would you like to drink?"

"One Blue Mountain."

"One Cappuccino."

The waiter approached, and Douglas ordered:

"One Blue Mountain, one Cappuccino, please."

The two girls weren’t there for the two cups of coffee, but they could clearly feel Douglas’s "respect" for them.

"This courtyard is quite mysterious to us," said Ah Mei, "We used to play inside during our childhood. At that time, an old couple lived there. The courtyard was large, and there were many rooms inside.

But after I started middle school, it was said that the old couple passed away one after the other, and the courtyard was sold. Since then, the gates have always been closed. Occasionally, a van would come, but it’s unclear what they were carrying.

We initially thought about playing inside again—the environment inside was truly nice. But the gates were locked, and some friends who tried to climb over were beaten up. Apparently, someone was watching."

"I see," Douglas expressed his regret, "We were actually thinking about going in to take a look, but never mind. By the way, are you students?"

The conversation was mainly led by Douglas, with Elijah occasionally engaging in a few exchanges with the curvy girl. Though he didn’t say much, she seemed very interested.

Elijah’s peripheral vision kept an occasional watch on that courtyard.

Half an hour later, the two girls reluctantly got up and left; they were students and had to go to class.

As they were leaving, they specifically made Elijah and the others remember their contact information, saying they would treat Elijah and the others to a meal later.

"Tricking little girls really doesn’t sit well with me," Douglas said with false sincerity.

"I didn’t see you feeling uneasy just now," Elijah responded with annoyance, "But I didn’t realize, one sixteen, one seventeen..."
