Chapter 1206: Chapter 615: Someone is Really Willing to Die for You!
Seeing Sean Knight’s serious attention to the Box, the guarding warrior took the initiative to open it.
What was contained inside the Box was a wooden Box. The color of the wood had already darkened somewhat, and Sean Knight could tell that it was a sandalwood Box. Data obtained by Sky Eye could confirm that this Box was formed more than a thousand years ago, traceable to the period of the Black-clothed Dashi.
When Sean Knight saw the Box, he discovered that it was imbued with an extremely pure Faith Energy—unlike the Totems in the Amazon Jungle of Brazil, the Energy here was not the Life Energy of faith, but purely Faith Energy.
This type of energy was also very pure, but compared to Life Energy, its function was quite different and required Sky Eye to purify or, in other words, convert it.
Life Energy could make a person healthier, help a wounded person recover quickly, and make the elderly appear youthful.
However, Faith Energy mainly made a person steadfast; if the energy of faith was impure, it could even make a person evil or insane.
However, upon actually coming into contact with the Box, Sean Knight realized that the Box must have housed something with pure faith, not that the Box itself had the power of faith.
What might it be?
Sean Knight asked the guard,
"What originally was in this Box?"
He was almost certain that the item that had been inside the Box was truly what could interest him; as for the Box itself, it was merely a container.
"I don’t know what it originally contained. Mr. Henija might know." The guard could speak English, but he did not know the specifics of the items.
"Then I’ll give him a phone call." Sean Knight said.
After getting off the airplane, Sean Knight made a phone call to Henija.
"Mr. Knight, hello." Henija’s tone was very polite and courteous.
Sean Knight guessed that the arrival of the technicians had made Henija sense his sincerity.
"Mr. Henija, I’d like to know about one of the cultural relics, the wooden Box. Where is the item that was originally inside it?"
In his mind, Sean Knight visualized the Box, roughly 20 centimeters square, with patterns on it that were not overly complicated, yet it was clear they were related to the Green Sect.
"The items... we’re not sure," Henija honestly said, "This piece was obtained from the house of a wealthy merchant in Kabul. This merchant liked to collect these significant antiques. According to him, the Box once contained the handwriting of a prophet’s disciple. But as to where that item is, he wasn’t sure—we couldn’t get it out of him, because he has left this world.
And we got this Box from his house."
"Is his house still around?" Sean Knight thought to ask.
"It is still there for now. However, its current master is a General," Henija said.
Apparently not wanting to stir up trouble, he took the initiative to ask,
"Mr. Knight, aren’t you interested in the other cultural relics?"
Sean Knight curled his lip. Henija belonged to the Green Sect, and so did his Organization. Thus, they wouldn’t cherish relics from other Religious Sects—otherwise, they wouldn’t have destroyed the Bamiyan Buddha.
Most of the relics in this airplane were Buddhist or Zoroastrian, with very few from the Green Sect.
"You’re well aware of the value of these relics yourself," Sean Knight said, "and there’s hardly anything of real value— even if it’s a Buddha Statue, they are just very common ones... Mr. Henija, speaking of the relics, you really haven’t shown much sincerity."
With that said, Henija blushed slightly.
Frankly, Sean Knight had already been quite accommodating. The technicians arrived before the cultural relics were in place. Henija had also learned from them that some of the equipment purchased by Sean Knight had already been shipped, while some were still in production.
Sean Knight had also transferred the funds for factory construction to the designated account—if the factory had been ready, the funds would probably already be in use.
But the cultural relics they provided were really just pieced together, which indeed damaged their reputation.
Henija’s rushed departure had been partly due to this reason.
He felt awkward facing Sean Knight.
Now that Sean Knight had called, as the director, he naturally had to face the situation.
But the General was a real power holder in the military; it was not easy to coordinate with him.
"I’m not saying I want that house, but I need to go there and have a look," Sean Knight said, "That relic is very important to me. I can forego all the other relics, but not that item..."
Sean Knight didn’t continue, but his meaning was quite clear.
I’ve already started investing, and if you’re just going to fob me off like this, we might as well call the whole thing off.
At the Base, Sean Knight wasn’t just making money from the Coal Mine. Simply turning around the supplies brought in daily was enough to make a multiple of the profits.
It couldn’t be helped. Without anything around, everything was scarce. Sean Knight wasn’t earning direct money, but rather was trading various kinds of supplies obtained from the locals—bartering was the most profitable approach.
Of course, the Coal Mine was the lion’s share, and stable at that. According to the experts who came over, the Coal Mine could continue at the current mining rate for over a hundred years without an issue.
Plus, there was the Copper Mine that Elder Hassan had mentioned—although the Copper Mine was currently only in the exploration stage, Sean Knight knew indeed it was a rich mine, just that the reserves were not as large as those of the Coal Mine.
Even so, once it started producing, it would be a steady stream of income.
