Chapter 1192: Chapter 610: Is it so big because it’s from the Kuafu Clan?_2
Sean Knight accompanied Cheryl Suweton ashore and when they arrived at the campsite, the others were packing up their items.
Cheryl swiftly packed her belongings with the intention of moving to Sean Knight’s campground.
"Cheryl, aren’t you leaving?" asked the Deputy Leader of the Research Team.
"I’m not leaving," Cheryl shook her head, "My boyfriend is continuing the investigation, and I’ll be accompanying him."
"Give our thanks to your boyfriend. If it weren’t for him, we might already be food in the mouths of sharks by now. Don’t mind what James said, he’s a foolish man who brought it upon himself."
"Okay, I’ll convey the message," Cheryl said with a smile.
Others recognizing Sean’s excellence made Cheryl very happy.
Upon serious consideration, if Cheryl hadn’t alerted everyone at that time and if Sean hadn’t come to the rescue when the shark was approaching, perhaps James wouldn’t have been the only one injured or even dead now.
Sean Knight was outside the campsite, helping Cheryl with her luggage as they walked to their campground.
"They said they want to thank you." Cheryl said, "If it weren’t for you, several members of the research team might have died."
"I did it because of you," Sean shook his head, "Your safety is the most important. I don’t really care about the others."
Although Sean said this, Cheryl knew he wasn’t such an indifferent and selfish person.
In that situation, he couldn’t have possibly saved only himself.
So, Cheryl gave him a warm kiss, and naturally, Sean was not one to refuse.
This caused the other team members to passively indulge in some public displays of affection.
Next, an enthusiastic Cheryl asked Sean:
"Dear, do you have any specific plans regarding the investigation?"
"Plans? What’s that?" Sean asked curiously, "Looking at your side of the investigation, you have detailed plans, yet you ended up finding a huge shark. Our side didn’t have any plans, but we discovered many pottery items. So this time, consider your investigation as a tourist trip that happens to include searching for ruins.
Don’t worry, you’ll return home with plenty of treasures."
Cheryl decided to let go of that matter, trusting Sean’s words.
After a tense day, it was finally time for dinner.
Cheryl was looking forward to it; Sean’s team members could always turn some strange items into unforgettable delicacies.
What dishes would they have today?
"Cold Mixed Wild Vegetables, braised venison in brown sauce, grilled fish, and the Staple food is mushroom soup with rice. Everyone also gets a bottle of wine."
There weren’t many types of dishes, but the portions were large, served in basins.
"I’ve realized that we can find deer no matter where we go," Sean commented as he chewed on his deer meat, "These creatures are too resilient."
"There are many different subspecies," Cheryl added, "They vary in size and habits."
"They all taste pretty good to me," Sean summed up in one sentence.
Cheryl had no words. It was true.
She quietly asked Sean:
"Where did you find all these team members? Why are there so many? And why are they so capable?"
In the past, it was just Ran Jie, Qin Fei, and Cao Da Long; they could be considered Sean’s carefully selected few.
But now these new people all seemed to be of a similar type? Able to cook, exceptional wilderness survival skills, and no problem diving, each looking quite fit and agile.
"We recruited retired soldiers," Sean explained, "They’re quite impressive."
Cheryl nodded, seeing they indeed appeared very capable.
If such people participated in a wilderness survival show, then there’d be nothing left for others to do.
After dinner, Sean said he wanted to stroll by the lakeside, and Cheryl, eager to digest, accompanied him.
Sean actually wanted to see if there was a chance to take out that shark, but Cheryl, finally having time with Sean, would not let such an opportunity slip away, would she?
After the meal, walking along the lake with a loved one was romantic, wasn’t it?
Cheryl held onto Sean’s arm as the two walked along the Lakeside Highterrace.
There was a breeze over the Lake Surface, not too strong, and with both of them having better physical fitness than Ordinary people and their beloved by their side, they didn’t feel anything.
In the distance, fishing boats returned home, the faint sound of their Engines audible.
Sean and Cheryl chatted intermittently, with Sky Eye active, but his attention was always on the Lake Surface.
He wanted to see if the Huge Stone would show up.
Unfortunately, it didn’t.
Let’s head back.
The second day, the group continued their boat trip and began diving for "Investigation."
This time, Cheryl got her wish to dive into the water alongside Sean, and then she marveled at the Statues she hadn’t even considered before.
"How’s that, much better than those big stones, right?"
"Of course!" Cheryl, fresh on the boat and still studying the Pottery, hadn’t yet recovered from her surprise, "I couldn’t believe it, to find such enormous Stone Statues beneath this lake! This is even more spectacular than Easter Island’s stone man, or even the UK’s Stonehenge!"
Of course, that was an exaggeration. After all, each has its own appeal.
As long as Cheryl liked it, that was all that mattered.
Sean asked Cheryl to sort the pottery on the boat while he went back into the water—along with the Team members.
Qin Fei and Cao Da Long followed along, equipped with fishing guns. The visual impact of that big creature was too strong; nobody wanted to risk Sean getting into any trouble.
Several people together dove to a region behind the Giant Stone Statue.
This area hadn’t been explored before, and this time it was designated as a key Investigation area for excavation.
