Chapter 1184: Chapter 607: Is This Trying to Poach from My Corner?_3
"What are you planning to do?" Cheryl Suweton felt that the bed was quite comfortable, so she simply lay down, resting her head on Sean Knight’s blanket, and asked with a tilted head.
"You do your investigation, and I’ll take my people for a swim nearby. I won’t interfere with your investigation above water, but underwater, that’s a different story. No one said that this area is exclusive to your team, right?"
"Hmm, that’s pretty good." Cheryl Suweton naturally supported Sean Knight’s idea unconditionally.
After a short break, the two simply went out to walk off their meal.
Sean Knight himself enjoyed outdoor foraging activities, and, having seen the plentiful catch of the team members at noon, he got the itch to fish and simply took a dip net to the nearby Small River ditch.
The water in the ditch flowed into Lake Baikal and had some reeds growing in it. The water wasn’t deep, and you could even see the water splash occasionally and the reeds constantly shaking from being nibbled on.
With Sky Eye, Sean Knight was essentially cheating. He stood by the water with the dip net, while Cheryl Suweton asked with some concern:
"Can you really catch fish this way?"
"Just watch, in a moment..." While watching the water surface, Sean Knight responded and then suddenly thrust the net into the water. A big carp, weighing over one pound, was wriggling in the net.
"Not bad at all! Dear, you’re amazing!" Cheryl Suweton enthusiastically helped Sean Knight with the fish.
Out of water, the fish was still quite lively, but clearly no match for Cheryl Suweton. She held it in her hands, examined it closely, then placed it into a plastic bag.
Originally, Cheryl Suweton didn’t eat these kinds of freshwater fish—disliking the many bones. But following Sean Knight, she learned to eat them and found the taste to be quite good.
After catching a dozen or so fish, Sean Knight finally stopped— the resources here were truly abundant!
Back at the camp, he handed the fish over to Yang Yongqiang—asking him to grill them for dinner— then Sean Knight and Cheryl Suweton headed towards the lakeside again.
"Tonight, I plan to scout the lake," Sean Knight said, pointing towards the lake surface, "and then decide the location where we’ll dive down. In any case, just watch; we will definitely be the first to find something!"
"But we..." Cheryl Suweton was somewhat worried.
"Don’t worry, it won’t take much time," Sean Knight said with a smile, touching Cheryl Suweton’s face, "as long as you don’t beg for mercy later!"
"I’ve been exercising..." Cheryl Suweton said seductively, "you can check thoroughly later!"
After eating the grilled fish at night, Sean Knight and Cheryl Suweton entered their tent.
The checking was quite thorough, and Sean Knight came out of the tent with a slightly red face.
Mainly because the noise was too loud.
Luckily when he came out, everyone was absent, and the only one on duty in the camp, Lincoln Harrington, was still far away.
"Where are they?" Sean Knight asked Lincoln Harrington.
"They went for wild game nearby," Lincoln Harrington reported, "It’s rare to have such leisure time and so many resources available. Captain Hastings said that work might officially start tomorrow. Tonight, we simply let everyone go, pairing up to gather ingredients, and we even turned it into a competition to see who can collect the most and the best."
Sean Knight looked into the forest, indeed spotting people moving about in the shadows.
Well, at least it seemed that no one was too troubled.
His pride was a little more intact.
Cheryl Suweton couldn’t get up; Sean Knight, still full of energy, simply decided to take a stroll by the lakeside.
"Boss, I heard there are big fish in the lake, be careful," Lincoln Harrington called out as he saw Sean Knight heading towards the lake.
"Got it," Sean Knight waved his hand, continuing to walk on.
It was already getting dark, and James kept waiting for Cheryl Suweton, but she never showed up. Instead, Sean Knight appeared alone by the lakeside.
Could Cheryl be in trouble?
James did indeed have ideas about stealing Sean Knight’s thunder, and of course, he had the capital to do so.
With his looks, standing on New York’s Main Street, there were plenty of Beautiful Girls approaching him.
He no longer enjoyed the process of chasing women; he wanted to cozy up to someone with power.
A woman like Cheryl, with both striking looks and a special Identity, was his target.
Just like Schwarzenegger back in the day.
Unfortunately, although he had figured out Cheryl’s preferences, organized this Research Team to cater to them, a Chinese boy had easily ruined his plans.
But the Opponent had brought people with him, and by the looks of it, he was quite skilled. James was not certain of his victory.
Watching Sean Knight head down to the Lakeside, James inwardly cursed, hoping Sean would fall into the lake and not come out.
Of course, it was just a thought.
Why go to the lakeside so late?
He saw that Sean Knight was carrying nothing in his hands and thought to himself that this Chinese boy couldn’t possibly swim in such icy Water without any Equipment, could he?
The thought flashed through his mind but was immediately dismissed.
How could that be possible?
James couldn’t figure it out and didn’t think any further, opting to rest in his tent instead.
It really is cold at Night!
Sean Knight arrived at the Lakeside, strolling slowly, calmly waiting for the sky to become completely dark.
The moon had not risen yet, and the stars were not bright enough to support the vision of Ordinary People, so Sean Knight confidently began changing into his Diving Equipment, which he had taken out from In Space, and then entered the lake.
With his current vision, even on the darkest Night, he could see the things in front of him.
There wasn’t much Aquatic Grass underwater; the water was very cold, and the bottom was slipper—a carelessness could lead to a fall.
The hard Lake Bottom didn’t show anything special; Sean Knight dived deeper.
Soon enough, he spotted the black shadows he had observed from the shore with Sky Eye—those were actually huge rocks!
They were very neatly cut, clearly not natural, which reminded Sean Knight of those rock formations he had come across in the Outer Northeast while rescailing his brother, Oscar Knight!
The similarity was uncanny!
The Huge Stone stood five or six meters high, but in water twenty or thirty meters deep, it didn’t look as impressive.
The huge rocks were aligned in rows, extending to both sides. Sean Knight suddenly guessed, could this be a city wall?
Of course, it was just a thought.
Using entire boulders as city walls seemed a bit exaggerated.
Looking further inside, there wasn’t just one row of these huge stone walls but three more, spaced about ten more meters apart, and the further inside, the taller they became—the sheer height of the stone walls was because the further in, the deeper the lake, so the four rows of boulders maintained roughly the same height.
Sean Knight decided to continue looking inside when suddenly, a huge shadow flickered to his right, giving him a start! That shadow was at least seven or eight meters long—a truly enormous size!
What was this thing?
