Chapter 1051: Chapter 563 Who Became the Yellow Sparrow? _2

Lincoln Harrington’s patrol team was seven kilometers from the oil well, currently racing towards it in a terrain vehicle."

Sean Knight didn’t reply, trusting that Elijah Hastings and his team would guide everyone to make ready, including mental preparation.

"The opponent is ignoring warnings and continues to approach!"

"They have weapons! Get ready!"

"Engage!"

After that, there were no more updates.

Until half an hour later, a report came in again from the direction of the oil well:

"Killed five of the enemies, severely injured one. The camel the enemies rode on carried a large quantity of explosives and flammable goods. All six were white, with clear signs of training, and had no identification. The seriously wounded did not speak a word... has been dealt with according to battlefield discipline.

Our side has two injured, both with penetrating light wounds; the patrol has already brought back the injured and replenished the security personnel."

Sean Knight breathed a sigh of relief; was this a good start?

The patrol team returned together with the injured. After delivering the wounded and replenishing with a few more team members and another terrain vehicle, they continued patrolling.

In response to Sean’s reminder, Lincoln said:

"Our patrols don’t have a fixed route. It’s hard to ambush us. The targets of these people are basically clear now; they’re after the oil wells. The more we move around, the more we can support the oil wells."

Fortunately, the drones now are high-powered, even at night. They can perform reconnaissance from high altitudes, bringing quite a bit of convenience to the patrol teams and the defense of the oil wells.

When night fell, another oil well not included in the plan was attacked again. However, due to the vigilance of the security personnel, the attack turned into a frontal assault, and then the attackers were blown up by a temporarily modified drone.

No attackers survived.

The two victories in defense somewhat eased Sean Knight’s worries.

Although he once again reminded everyone to be vigilant for safety, he thought it was time for everyone to get some good sleep.

After all, if they couldn’t go to the oil well, then they should maintain ample energy.

He could go without sleep, but that wasn’t necessarily true for others.

At midnight, Sean Knight, on a whim, started walking circles inside the courtyard.

There was a roving sentry inside, walking in circles too.

Seeing Sean, the sentry asked for the password and then continued patrolling.

Since the nighttime rest, no more attacks on the oil wells had occurred; Sean felt something was not quite right.

He had a gun loaded and ready in his spatial realm and wasn’t worried about weapon issues.

Approaching the front gate, the sentry was also very alert, which put Sean at somewhat ease.

Just as he was about to head back to the house, a slight noise outside caught his attention!

Sean’s hearing was far superior to an ordinary person’s, and he could tell the noise was coming from outside the rear wall of the small building!

Since the surrounding wall of the courtyard was around seven to eight hundred meters in circumference, it was impossible for the patrolling team to cover it all at once, and it seemed likely someone was creeping over!

Sean immediately moved in that direction while also activating Sky Eye to look outside.

Outside, there were seven or eight shadows by the wall, attempting to climb in!

The wall was only two meters high and, though hastily rigged with electrified iron wire mesh, the intruders seemed to know what they were doing. They wore insulating gloves, equipped with pliers, cutting through the wire—and it looked as if they were using extended rubber electrical wires to electrify and numb the on-duty personnel!

"Enemy attack!"

As Sean yelled out, he threw a hand grenade over!

"Boom!"

Because of the interfering wall, the hand grenade exploded behind them, wounding two, but it didn’t have much impact!

The explosion, however, startled all the sentries and patrol teams!

The security personnel resting in the building also immediately sprang to action, coordinating with Sean to attack these outsiders.

What happened next, however, was beyond Sean’s expectations!

Three more people sneaked out from another part of the surrounding wall and started shooting their way!

Several team members were immediately struck down, but those three were quickly subdued!

Sean was worried, another battlefield was too close to where Aria Wilson and the others lived. If the attackers were willing to fight to the death and then rush into that small building, it could cause trouble!

Just as he was about to turn and cover the small building, gunshots suddenly rang out from there!

The elevated gunfire directly stunned the resisting hired guns!

The attackers came through the fence intending to cause destruction.

The opposition was prepared; once inside, they faced heavy fire.

The armed personnel encircling the attackers came from the gate and the patrolling members, slowly leading the attackers into a false sense of security—thinking that the people living in the building must be unarmed and not a significant threat.

So, during the fight, while they were cautious about the building initially, their attention eventually concentrated on the combat.

After all, a moment’s inattention could mean death!

However, the sudden attack from the darkness caught the raiders off guard!

Two were shot dead on the spot!

On another, more populated battlefield, the raiders realized the situation was hopeless and started covering their retreat toward the fence!

But they didn’t climb back; instead, they blew up the wall with explosives and crawled out through the hole.

On this side, the security team members kept their fire steady. They didn’t immediately pursue.

Then, from outside, the sounds of gunfire and explosions were followed by silence.

These retired security officers had undergone regular tactical training. It was only natural for them to execute the revolutionary tradition of tactical interplay taught by their predecessors. They had already dispatched people to the exterior, establishing an encirclement.
