Chapter 1049: Chapter 562 Who will be courteous before resorting to force?_3

"Perhaps Sean Knight got in touch with my sister in hopes that I would mediate?"

"After all, the oil fields are in my kingdom, and no matter how powerful Exxon is, they should give me some face, right?"

Abdullah had already prepared for the eventuality of Sean Knight coming to seek an audience with him.

"Since my sister is happy, and Sean Knight has made substantial efforts, then why shouldn’t I play the peacemaker just this once?"

"After all, over the past two years, China’s influence on the international stage has been growing, and even OPEC is giving it face. Doing this would essentially be going with the flow, and I could even earn some favors."

"Your Highness, Princess Aria has taken people to that oil field in the south," the assistant came to report again.

"Let her go, let her go." Abdullah waved his hand dismissively. His sister was grown up, and although this Sean Knight, a Chinese man, was somewhat of a ladies’ man, at least he was good to his sister, and she liked him.

He knew that such matters could not be stopped.

Sean Knight was also somewhat surprised by Princess Aria’s arrival.

"Princess Aria, my place might not be very peaceful recently, I suggest you go back to the palace first."

It seemed better to Sean Knight to be frank with the princess.

"Why wouldn’t it be peaceful?" Princess Aria asked with some surprise, pointing to those security personnel who were training or cleaning weapons outside:

"With so many armed people protecting, it should be very safe!"

"Recently, someone has been planning to buy this oil field. I’m not willing, so I’m afraid those people might resort to extreme measures," Sean Knight revealed his suspicions, "After all, some of them have a history. If they can’t get what they want, they’d rather burn it down..."

Princess Aria immediately thought of the off-road vehicle she encountered on her way there, and then she thought of the question her brother had asked. She thought she figured out what Sean Knight was thinking, and although she felt slightly uncomfortable, she still said:

"I’ll give my brother a phone call right now, so he can send people to protect your oil field!"

"No need, no need!" Sean Knight hurriedly gestured with his hands, "I have enough people here. I’m just worried that if someone really comes to cause destruction, I won’t be able to protect your safety, understand?"

Princess Aria looked at Sean Knight seriously, trying to determine if he was sincere.

"After all, I might also be involved in the defense," Sean Knight continued, "Though it seems I have many people here, when it comes to protecting many oil wells, there won’t be enough once they are spread out...

But trust me, just for defense, my people are sufficient to protect the oil wells. If you stay here, I’m just worried about the risk of accidents."

Once Sean Knight said this, Princess Aria understood.

Her brother’s consideration was really needless.

And Sean Knight was genuinely concerned about her safety, which is why he urged her to leave.

Princess Aria turned her head to look at her bodyguards.

Five bodyguards.

All of them were women who were specially trained and covered in headscarves.

The one in charge said to Princess Aria:

"Your Royal Highness, for safety’s sake, we also advise you to leave here."

"If we stay, can you protect me?"

"We will do our best. But we need some long-range weapons."

Princess Aria looked at Sean Knight.

Sean Knight, somewhat speechless, scratched his head.

What was this situation!

"I just want to see, who dares to act so brazenly in our kingdom," Princess Aria spoke with an air of solemnity, leave Sean Knight with hardly any room to refuse.

With no other choice, Sean Knight directed security personnel to bring over five automatic rifles.

One of the bodyguards asked:

"Do you have a sniper rifle?"

"What about a machine gun?" another one asked more directly.

"I want a pistol," Princess Aria confidently said to Sean Knight, "Don’t think I’m completely clueless, at least I have done some shooting."

Well then, Sean Knight fulfilled the wishes of these "violent women."

Soon, Princess Aria, including Amina and the bodyguards, began their weapons testing.

As an observer, Sean Knight was genuinely surprised. Those few bodyguards were indeed well-trained; they weren’t just for show, and their coordination was excellent.

Although Princess Aria and Amina were only carrying pistols, they were certainly no novices; at least from the way they loaded and fired the weapons, it seemed they had some experience with shooting hundreds of rounds before.

Well, at least they could manage self-defense.

In truth, Sean Knight wasn’t entirely worried about their safety. After all, he had more confidence in his own team members.

The main issue was that with them there, he couldn’t act freely—but Princess Aria was right; at least with her present, it would prove that some were indeed not hesitating to send mercenaries to burn oil fields for their own interests without considering this as a sovereign nation.

Pulling Abdullah, or the kingdom’s leaning, to his side was also a good thing.

Although that was the case, Sean Knight and his team couldn’t always be in a full state of combat readiness.

Taking advantage of everyone getting prepared, Sean Knight and Princess Aria’s party made another trip to the ancient city ruin site.

But they couldn’t enter upon reaching the periphery of the ruins.

The place was overrun with various black scorpions!

"I’m afraid those people must have died here," Sean Knight pointed towards the two pickup trucks on the outskirts, "The cars are still there."

Princess Aria wasn’t particularly afraid of scorpions, but the sight of so many made her feel uneasy.

They had originally planned to see if they could find more treasure, but it was definitely not possible now.

"Since we can’t find anything in the ruins, let’s go check their cars," Sean Knight suggested, pointing at the pickup trucks already covered by a layer of sand.

There was a person lying next to the pickup trucks, but they had already turned into a mummy. There were also many dead scorpions around them.

"It seems the scorpions had extended their activity range up to here," Sean Knight mentioned, "After they killed this person, they retreated back."

Even so, they were still extremely cautious while inspecting the pickup trucks.

These black scorpions clearly weren’t to be trifled with!

And then, like discovering a geographical treasure, they found so much stuff hidden in the pickup trucks!

Looking at these spilled items, Sean Knight said to Princess Aria, laughing:

"This counts as us finding some treasure too."

But the joy didn’t last long, as Sean Knight was called back by a phone call.

There was a situation at the coastline!
