Chapter 1015: Chapter 451: The items to "snatch" this time are extraordinary!

Elijah Hastings handed over the items, and Sean Knight scrutinized them earnestly.

To say it was an investment base wasn’t quite accurate, it should be called a piece of "fatty meat" that the Chrysanthemum Organization of Japan took a long time to "capture".

The location was in the Middle East, and the specific item was oil.

That is to say, through various means, the Chrysanthemum Organization had managed to secure a plot of land in a small Middle Eastern country and, according to the current documents, they had developed an oil field there.

The oil field hadn’t been discovered for long, and the Chrysanthemum Organization had been keeping it a secret, not daring to exploit it extensively. So much so that the small country in the Middle East was unaware of the situation, thinking that Japan was conducting some sort of desert water-saving experiment.

This was getting quite interesting.

What was even more interesting was that Elijah Hastings brought a complete set of documents, meaning that if Sean Knight wanted to, he could become the legal owner of that piece of desert within a short time, with a lease term of fifty years!

Of course, this, too, would take some time.

If the Chrysanthemum Organization reacted quickly and went to the same small country to do a supplemental registration for their operations, they could possibly retrieve the situation.

So next, it came down to who could act faster.

With an attitude of even if he couldn’t get his hands on that place, he had to make the other side regret it, Sean thought it was necessary to make a trip there.

When it came to such matters, Sean felt no moral burden at all, much like not cheering for certain teams at the Universiade; it was a natural feeling that brooked no argument.

"Prepare yourselves. I’m meeting a domestic expert who’s coming over. Once I’ve handled this, we’ll leave," Sean told Elijah Hastings. "Are the three of you going together, or is one staying behind... Does Douglas need to recover from his injuries here?"

"No, no need!" Douglas Cooper chimed in hastily, "Boss, I can’t be left out of a good deal like this, or I’ll definitely have objections!"

"Alright then, get ready. Those maid-servants have been waiting for you guys all this time. Even if you don’t want them anymore, you’ve got to explain things to them," Sean joked. "The tribe has been keeping them for you, I heard from Zena Fitzgerald that they have been waiting for you guys all this time."

"Boss, that’s not very righteous of you!" Elijah complained "melancholically." "You know we all have families to take care of, or at the very least, partners. If you make a move like this, if our wives find out..."

"I can’t be blamed for that." Sean said, laughing with an attitude of every man for himself. "Look, I have Zena Fitzgerald here with me, don’t I?"

"That’s different!" Douglas Cooper protested.

"Alright, enough. The guest is here, go deal with your things. I’ll be quick on my end," Sean said.

The matter Sean had to deal with was receiving a domestic expert in geology, Oliver Bear from the Xinjiang Geological Research Institute.

Oliver Bear appeared to be around fifty years old, looking nothing like an expert but more like a worker or an old farmer who’d spent years working outside.

"Professor Bear, nice to meet you!" Sean extended his hands warmly to greet Oliver, "This time we’ll be counting on you quite a bit."

"It’s no trouble at all," Oliver said, laughing. "I brought a few students with me this time to give them some practical experience. It’s you who have given us such a great opportunity, I should be thanking you."

Only then did Sean notice that behind Professor Bear followed two young men and a girl who were sorting out their luggage.

"Here, let me introduce you. This is Sean Knight, a distinguished figure from Xinjiang. I think, with Sean’s assets, he’s at least the richest man in Xinjiang by now," Oliver introduced his students to Sean, his words laden with humor.

Oliver Bear came upon Sean’s introduction through Deputy Curator Joseph Davis of the Xinjiang Museum. He had some understanding of Sean, but he did not know that the somewhat exaggerated humor was now a reality.

The three young people immediately looked at Sean with curiosity.

"These are my graduate students, all specializing in geology," Oliver introduced them one by one:

"This is Caleb Stevens, this one here is Daniel Ward and this is Nora Wilson, the only girl student to join our Geological Research Institute in the past two years."

Caleb Stevens had a tall and thin physique with somewhat dark skin and a serious demeanor. Daniel Ward was shorter, slightly chubby, with an honest smile.

Nora Wilson wore a baseball cap with her hair short, dressed like a sporty girl, looking vibrant and spirited.

None of the three looked dusty or ragged, making Sean feel quite good about them, they at least appeared cheerful and bright.

"Let’s go have food first. The conditions here are a bit worse than back home, bear with it," Sean said.

"Don’t be polite." Oliver laughed, "We’re used to it at our institute, and in the field, eating Instant Noodles or crusty pancakes is no big deal. If we really run out of food, we’ve even tasted wild vegetables and fruits."

Sean just smiled without responding. He believed what Oliver said was true, but looking at those three students, they didn’t seem to fit that bill.

"Besides, if you, Mr. Knight, can endure, naturally we have nothing to complain about," Oliver observed the surroundings as they walked. "This base doesn’t seem to be built in the style we’re used to back home."

"It’s an old American military base that I’m utilizing," Sean said with a smile, without going into detail.
