Rise Of The Infinite Sovereign
Chapter 461: Hidden Away

Chapter 461: Hidden Away

"<Sovereign Space>"

The space around Ezra ripples, bending and warping as if reality itself were folding under his will.

A low hum grows, resonating from Skyfall and deep within Ezra’s chest.

The hum rises into a crescendo, the oppressive silence of the chamber shattering as a radiant pulse of energy erupts from him, spreading in an immaculate sphere.

Time slows to a pause, growing still as the space around him exhales and collapses inward.

A deep, resounding hum echoes through the air as the surrounding space fractures, cracks splintering outward in a perfect circle with Ezra at its epicenter.

These fractures glow faintly with an otherworldly radiance, like veins of molten silver coursing through glass, creating the boundary of his dominion.

Within this space, the landscape transformed into an abstract representation of command and rule.

The ground beneath Ezra becomes a vast, seamless plane of obsidian, polished to a mirror-like finish.

His reflection stares back at him, distorted yet imposing.

The walls of the cavern melt away into an endless void, where shimmering threads of multicolored light weave intricate patterns across the horizon.

Above him, a fragmented crown of energy materializes, a kaleidoscope of shifting hues that dance and clash in chaotic harmony.

It is incomplete yet commanding, an emblem of raw, untamed authority.

The crown’s edges blur, crackling with energy as it hovers above his head, a physical manifestation of his dominion.

The oppressive weight of the chamber dissipates entirely, replaced by an overwhelming aura.

Within this space, the chamber transforms into an otherworldly expanse.

"Ah..." Ezra moans in euphoric delight. "I’ve missed this feeling"

The creatures, once relentless and frenzied, falter.

Their glowing red eyes flicker uncertainty as though sensing the shift in the balance of power.

Without much ado, Ezra stretches his arm, and from it space itself began to stretch, each moment crystallizing into sharp clarity.

"Welcome to my world," Ezra murmurs, his voice resonating like a command etched into the fabric of existence.

The crystalline creatures lunge at him seeking to attack, their forms blurring as they move...

But here, within the Sovereign’s Space, Ezra’s perception encompasses all.

He sees every movement, every flicker of light and shadow as if they were laid bare before him.

Using the skill for a second time, Ezra had a bit more understanding of his capabilities within this domain than before.

So rather swing Skyfall, Ezra extends his palm towards said creatures.

Lighting up his body with energy, he mutters a single word.

"Disappear"

Warping reality to his desires, the effect is immediate.

The creatures are given zero prep time before disintegrating into a fine mist, their fragments scattering like embers in a storm.

Just like this, the horde is decimated.

Shards of light and shadow litter the obsidian floor, their fractured forms unable to regenerate under the crushing weight of Ezra’s domain.

With the pests dealt with, Ezra promptly deactivates the skill.

As the colossal barrier of energy dissipates, blood trickles down Ezra’s nose while he heaved breaths in gasps.

The skill activation and that single attack had eaten up more than half of his mental energy, leaving him dazed.

Shaking his head, Ezra shakes off the wave of nausea, maintaining his strong gait.

But as he looks to the shards scattered on the ground, Ezra’s eyes snap wide open attention with his dizziness wiped away instantly.

Because right in front of his eyes, the shards had begun to piece themselves back together!

.....!

The scattered fragments of the creatures were stir, faint pulses of light emanating from the surroundings.

Against his wishes, the shards coalesce, and gradually begin reforming into their previous shapes.

"What?" His voice is laced with disbelief. "They’re regenerating...again?!"

[Tsk, tsk, tsk] a disapproving tick resounds in his mind. [You went and did something useless, and now you’re wondering why it’s working, eh]

Zydrax’s tone lay tinged with disappointment.

[It must be shocking to see your trump card fail] Zydrax’s voice cuts through the silence, calm yet insistent. [You must have believed there was nothing you couldn’t beat with that skill, so let me warn you. Such shallow thinking will inevitably get you killed in the future]

"Al.Right" Ezra replies, in between gasps. "Please. Help me"

[I intended to do so anyways] Zydrax nonchalantly replies before moving to the topic at hand. [Their cores remain intact]

[While your attack destroyed their physical forms and your domain had suppressed their regeneration, it cannot destroy them completely as long as their power source exists]

[So] says Zydrax, taking a healthy pause. [Just as I told you before. Find the crystals that hold their core essence. Thankfully, it will take and you better hurry up about it]

Turning around, Ezra is confronted with the multitude of black crystals encasing the entire section, and of course, they all look exactly the same.

*Sigh*

Ezra has zero confidence in finding the correct crystal before the shadows are completely restored.

At this juncture, his trusty advisor comes in handy.

[It seems your extravagant use of energy was partially effective]

’What does that mean?’

[Focus your senses, Ezra. I will not explain it to you better than this]

’Hmm’

Listening, Ezra obeys.

After all, no matter how they regarded one another, Zydrax was not one to speak rubbish at a time like this.

Closing his eyes, Ezra slowly extends his energy outward, trying to catch whatever it was Zydrax sought to lead him to.

Not getting anything, Ezra crouches down and places his palm into the ground, hoping to get a read on something, anything.

As luck would have it, it didn’t take long for Ezra to latch onto something.

’What’s this?’

A trail of energy.

With a bit more concentration, the trail becomes visible, and a look behind him saw that it led to one of the regenerating shadows.

Ezra moves swiftly, his steps light yet deliberate as he follows the trail, soon arriving at an inconspicuous corner of the cove.

The set of crystals and the environment looked so much like everywhere else that Ezra couldn’t help but wonder whether it had been picked at random.

The black crystals embedded in the floor pulse brighter with each step, as though sensing his approach.

Ezra narrows his eyes, his senses extending outward.

Amidst the sea of jagged crystals, he spots subtle differences—slight variations in their glow, faint vibrations that betray their importance.

"There," he mutters.

But upon confirming the location the crystal led to, Ezra’s face scrunches up, his expression unsightly.

The crystal discovered to be the core lay out of sight, buried beneath other large and outlandish crystals jutting out from all directions.

Ezra raises Skyfall, its blade gleaming with concentrated energy.

With no time to waste, Ezra cleaves through the mass of crystals using Skyfall as a pickaxe.

A light shake ripples through the chamber as the crystal shatters, its fragments scattering into miniscule shards.

Another swing completely clears out the surrounding crystal, exposing the core.

Here, Ezra makes another incredulous but infuriating discovery.

The crystal is mostly buried in the surroundings walls holding up the crystals, with only about three milimeters of it tip being exposed.

"Its never easy" Ezra speaks with exasperation.

When searching for a trail earlier, Ezra had discovered more than one.

And with the first one being placed in such a enclosed and secretive place, past experience told him the others cores would be of a similar difficulty to get to.

With the cores being hidden away so cleverly, Ezra could no longer be certain that they had been picked at random.

But that doesn’t halt Ezra’s momentum in the slightest, but rather ignites his spirit.

’I just have to be fast about it then’

Here, Ezra notices something else.

Unlike the other crystals, it’s tips emits a faint, steady hum, with the light within it flickering ever so slowly.

The him is nearly inaudible, but with laser focus, he could discern it.

Another tip to finding the crystals faster.

Without further ado, Ezra lights up Skyfall with his energy and makes a large swing to ensure the crystals destruction because he expects the core crystals to be have more tenacity than other crystals.

A loud shockwave ripples through the chamber as the crystal shatters with a resounding CRACK.

To which it’s fragments begin disassembling into energy particles.

The effect is immediate.

One of the creatures in the midst of regeneration falters, its form flickering erratically before collapsing into a pile of inert shards, with its glow forever ceased.

"Got you" Ezra says, a grin spreading across his face.

Ezra moves to the next crystal with quick strides.

With much of his energy expanded, Ezra could no longer let out massive energy attacks to destroy the cores at once, but instead strikes precise and unrelenting, chipping away at them.

Each strike to the core weakens the creatures, their movements growing sluggish and disjointed while their regeneration slowed drastically.

The oppressive glow of the cove dims with every crystal destroyed.

The oppressive air remains, but the creatures are gone, their shattered forms scattered and powerless.

Ezra exhales heavily, leaning on Skyfall as the adrenaline subsides, before inevitably falling on his knees, completely fatigued.
