Hearing that, Dao Se asked Amon, "Kid, are you trying to frame my organization?"

"I can’t control what people say on the street. Also, are you afraid the Street Aristocrats blame you for what my group did?"

"I’m afraid of nothing! I just don’t like getting framed by others," Dao Se exclaimed.

"Then just tell people that we are working for you. This will give you more prestige. It shows that you can cause big trouble to Street Aristocrats, whom everyone says are more powerful than the Sewer Snakes."

"Hmph! Do you think the Street Aristocrats truly plan to hit us?" Dao Se asked Amon.

"He can’t find my group. He sure will be venting his anger to someone. Who else but you for the perfect target?"

"Why do I feel like you are trying to make us fight one another?" Dao Se asked.

"Weren’t you already fighting one another before I entered the picture?" Amon asked in return.

"He got you there," Gao Lan told Dao Se.

"I can’t stay and chat. If I don’t get out soon, you will have another explosion," Amon said.

"Damn, kid... You truly didn’t bluff?"

"I will have my people send the first batch of Thousand Dream Powder tomorrow. As for the coming conflict with the Street Aristocrats, I suggest you set a date and place with Lu Zu rather than wait for him to strike. If you do, I will give him a surprise while you two are at it."

After finishing speaking, Amon ran to the exit. The people outside didn’t stop him. If he could come out alive from the room, that meant Dao Se let him go.

After Amon was gone, the hooded person from Dao Se’s office came out.

"What do you think about him?" Dao Se asked this person.

"I must say I’m rather surprised seeing him here, and that he is even the leader of the Demon Gang."

"You know him?" Gao Lan asked.

"His name is Lin Mo," The hooded man replied. "By the way, he just caused your clansmen in the academy to lose face not long ago."

"I don’t care about them. I’m no longer part of the Gao clan."

"So, you think we should cooperate with him?" Dao Se asked.

"I’ve been interested in him ever since I first laid eyes on him. Yes, let’s work with him. We may better know the extent of his abilities that way."

"Very well," Dao Se said. "In that case, let’s take his suggestion. Gao Lan, send a letter of challenge to Lu Zu. Tell him I want to meet in the Swirly Street District three days from now. Considering we’ve just taken that district from him. He must be eager to take it back. We can decide who gets to keep the district there."

After coming out of the building, Amon went to two sides of the building and removed the Exploding Talismans he had set up beforehand. These were the Exploding Talismans he had taken from Wei Lun.

Amon hadn’t learned talisman-making, but he had studied engraving enough that he could add two words of power to the existing talisman. The word of power he had added increased the explosive power of the talisman, allowing it to cause a tremor that shook the entire building.

The second word of power made the Exploding Talisman into a time bomb. He set the timing beforehand. He was now defusing the remaining two exploding talismans by erasing the word of power that controlled the trigger.

He was indeed bluffing when he told Dao Se that he had enough explosives to bury the building. Although the explosive power of the talismans had been increased, another two explosions were still not enough for the job. But thanks to his confident pretense, Dao Se bought the act.

The next morning, Amon sent Xin Wuming to bring the Thousand Dream Powder they had taken back from the Street Aristocrats to Dao Se.

Amon taught Ah Bin how to create the Thousand Dream Powder. He wasn’t worried about the recipe getting out because one of the key ingredients, the Wet Dream Flower, could be acquired only from him. These flowers occupied a large portion of the plantation inside his black space ring.

He also let Ah Bin concoct the Thousand Dream Powder inside his residence. His alchemical tools didn’t lose to the ones inside the specialization building for training pill masters. He constantly upgraded his tools using his wealth. Ah Bin had no problem using these tools for the task. By doing it there, they kept the source of the Thousand Dream Powder secret.

When Xin Wuming delivered the Thousand Dream Powder, Dao Se gave him a message to pass on to Amon regarding the challenge he sent to Lu Zu.

On the night of the appointed day, the members of Street Aristocrats and Sewer Snakes filled the main street of the Swirly Street District. This main street was one of the busy economic centers of the city. It was famous for its many restaurants lining up the street. The income from the protection racket from these restaurants alone was substantial. Hence, losing this district was a big blow for the Street Aristocrats.

Lu Zu wasn’t afraid of going head-to-head with the Sewer Snakes. He believed he had more manpower. Hence, he accepted Dao Se’s letter of challenge.

While the members of the two groups were staring at each other on the streets, their leaders were up there on the second floor. They were not in the same buildings, though. Dao Se was sitting on the balcony of one of the restaurants, while Lu Zu sat on the balcony of the opposite restaurant.

The two just sat there while enjoying their tea. Gao Lan accompanied Dao Se. Lu Zu also had his aide sitting next to him.

The civilians had been evacuated earlier, or more correctly put, chased out to avoid having them caught in the crossfire. The authorities had been bribed to leave this district alone. Tonight, these two underworld organizations could settle their differences to their hearts’ content.
