Rise of The Demon General
Chapter 184. Exposed

Chapter 184: Chapter 184. Exposed

The whole hall went silent. Even the men who were merrily raping Jie Mei stopped and turned their attention to the arena.

Luan Xuan jumped from the podium above and landed before Luan Fo’s corpse. He looked at the corpse for a long time before he turned to Amon.

"You use poison?" He asked.

"I don’t remember anyone explaining any rules about not using poison," Amon replied.

"Poison Claw... I only know that it is an art from the White Cloud Sect. I see... you are from the same city as that sect. But even there, not many people practice it. Poison is, after all, not a respectable skill."

"It’s funny hearing you people care about respect," Amon said. He glanced at Jie Mei.

"Hahaha! You are right. As long as it is effective, why does it matter? No, I don’t criticize you for using poison, but I must say this poison is rather exceptional. Not many known poisons can kill a transformation stage cultivator in such a short time. Even more from only such small wounds. Care to enlighten us?"

"I’m just fusing some unknown poison with my Poison Claw art," Amon lied. "I also don’t know the recipe if that’s what you are asking."

"Hehe. Never mind. We will have more time to get to know each other... All right! The show is over!" Luan Xuan suddenly declared. "Everyone gets back to your posts!"

When he saw the men who were raping Jie Mei continuing their fucking, he zoomed over there with blinding speed and sent all the men a slap. Those men flipped from the slap. All of them had bloodied mouths after the slap.

"I say, enough!" He then turned to the jailors. "Bring them all back to the cells!"

Lei Gun just stood there, unable to believe it was over. When a jailor pushed him and awakened him from his trance, he instead ran toward Jie Mei, who was still sobbing. He demanded someone give Jie Mei clothes to wear. One of the jailors threw clothes at her. After she was dressed again, they followed the jailors back to the cell.

Lei Gun held Jie Mei and helped her walk. Despite being from different factions in the academy, they were comrades in this hellish place.

They were brought to the big cell where they were first kept the first day they arrived at this place. All of them were told to go inside. After they entered, they were surprised to find that they were not alone. Fan Niang was there, sobbing with torn clothes.

"Fan Niang...! What did they do to you?!" Lei Gun shouted with concern.

But seeing her condition, it was not necessary to ask. Everyone should know what happened. But Fan Niang still answered, "They... They brought me to a room full of men... Then... Then they..."

Jie Mei came to Fan Niang, who was still sobbing. She placed her arm around Fan Niang’s shoulders. Having suffered the same awful treatment, she felt a kindred spirit with the girl.

"I don’t know how long I am in their hands... After they finished, they brought me back here...," Fan Niang continued.

"Those rebel bastards! I swear I’m going to kill them all...!" Lei Gun yelled.

"Be careful. They might hear us," Jie Mei warned.

Lei Gun wanted to yell, ’So what?!’ But the memory of Zong Kui’s head on a plate and Yong Lei’s head scorched beyond recognition came back to him. He felt his body involuntarily shiver again. He didn’t say anything.

"No one keeps guard," Amon said. There was a small slit in the door. He had a limited view of the corridor outside.

"Are you sure?" Jie Mei asked.

"Look out there yourself then," Amon didn’t bother to assure her.

"Where... Where are tutor Li Shi and brother Yong Lei?" Fan Niang finally spoke.

"They still hold tutor Li Shi," Jie Mei answered.

"What do they want from her? Is she all right?" Fan Niang asked anxiously.

"We don’t know. She left with you. We thought you knew about her."

"What about brother Yong Lei?" Fan Niang asked again.

Jie Mei didn’t answer. Lei Gun lowered his head.

"No... No... It can’t be...," Fan Niang started sobbing again.

"Shh... It’s all right. Don’t cry... You are safe," Jie Mei tried to console.

"Yes. We are here! We won’t let them take you again!" Lei Gun declared.

"I... I want to go home...," Fan Niang sobbed.

"... All of us want to," Jie Mei said.

"Did... did any of you know what they want?" Fan Niang asked.

"No. They never asked us anything," Jie Mei answered.

"They asked me," Fan Niang said. "They told me that they are looking for something from the ruins. Did you all truly not get anything from the ruins?"

"No, didn’t I tell you that before? I didn’t take anything from the ruins."

"Maybe you forget? It might be something that you think is not valuable."

"Like what?" Lei Gun asked.

"I heard them asking when they were... doing things to me. They are looking for something that looks like a lantern. One with a square shape. Around this size."

Fan Niang estimated the size using her hands. "Did any of you ever see this item inside the ruins?"

"No, Fan Niang. We never saw it," Jie Mei said.

"Yeah. If anyone found anything, it would have been confiscated by Captain Xu Shi," Lei Gun added.

"Please... Think carefully. Maybe you have seen it somewhere. We need to give it to them. Otherwise, what happened to Brother Yong Lei and sister Jie Mei will happen again. I don’t want that...! Please, I know one of you has it... Just give it to them. It’s not worth our lives."

"Hehehe..."

Everyone turned to Amon, who was chuckling.

"You... What are you laughing at?! Do you find our situation funny?" Lei Gun scolded.

"You just exposed yourself, you know," Amon said.

"What?" Lei Gun was confused, but then he noticed that Amon was not talking to him. Amon’s eyes were on another person. Lei Gun turned back to that person.
