Riley Ross
Chapter 90: The Plan

Chapter 90: Chapter 90: The Plan

"Are you dead, Mr. Monday?"

"...You are?"

Riley was seated beside Mr. Monday, both of their backs resting on one of the metal crates. Riley placed him there, and it didn’t really take long at all before Mr. Monday succumbed to the comfort of death.

"Well, that is very disappointing, Mr. Monday."

Riley glanced at Mr. Monday, pressing his finger on his shoulder. But alas, there truly was no response from Mr. Monday at all—his body was already completely limp, and he just dropped to the floor with the slightest touch.

"I was truly expecting your stomach to burst. I suppose it was a matter of not having enough sodium metal."

He sighed, standing up and patting his pants while looking down at Mr. Monday’s corpse. He stared at his eyes, which no longer held any color or light, and shook his head in disappointment.

"I wanted you to scream and suffer more for threatening Sister, Mr. Monday," he whispered, "But like always, I am constrained by time—perhaps one day, I can take all the time I need... but for now, this would have to do."

Riley looked around the storage room before settling on the remains of the compressed metal box he and Mr. Monday had played with earlier. He called for it, and it still had traces of Mr. Monday’s blood—it didn’t matter, however, as it wasn’t going to be seen with how he was planning to use it.

He opened up his palm, and at the same time, the compressed metal ballooned up, almost returning to its original form if not for the streaks of wrinkles here and there. He stared at the wrinkles for a few seconds, glaring at them until they started to flatten.

And after a minute had passed, most of the surface had become smooth. For some reason, this felt like the hardest thing he had tried to do with his telekinesis; to try and remove the creases from the metal box and make it as smooth as its original state.

Perhaps if he had vibrated the metal at first to heat it up, like what he did with Mr. Monday’s toothbrush, he could have done it more easily.

But for now, this would have to do.

"Well then, Mr. Monday. I suppose this is farewell."

Riley snapped his fingers, and Mr. Monday’s remaining limbs and neck began to stretch until they were completely ripped off from the rest of his body. Riley did not even think twice or flinch upon doing so. After killing more than five people, he had already become completely desensitized about dismembering his victims... well, if he wasn’t already from the start.

And without even as much as a thought, Riley placed Mr. Monday’s dismembered parts into the box using his bare hands.

Well, not exactly his bare hands, as he had a protective layer completely wrapping his entire body from the start, preventing any blood or even dirt from sticking to him. And once he was done, he just nodded to himself.

"I suppose that is done."

And with that, he made his way out of the storage room, not before, however, sending out a telekinetic wave to serve as a radar for him to walk through the halls of the Dark Millennium ship without anyone even knowing he was there.

He first changed the directions of the cameras in the hallway before he stepped out, and then immediately hugged the walls before floating up onto the ceiling and crawling there like some sort of white spider.

After all, as Bernard had taught him, one can never be too careful during moments of espionage—even if he had turned all the cameras and had a telekinetic radar to sense people, it would still do him good to stick to the ceiling.

Meanwhile, October and Mr. Friday were actually also on their way back to where the students were gathered. Mr. Friday’s steps were hurried, almost jogging. October, on the other hand, was just casually walking.

She was even poised, letting her incredibly voluminous hair bounce with each step. Mr. Friday glanced back at her several times, but it was to no avail. She was still taking her sweet time.

"Do you think... Ms. Thursday was saying the truth?" He asked while still keeping his pace, "Do you think... Bernard’s son did that? But he isn’t even in the list. But then again, what if Bernard paid the Academy to take him off the list? Someone who holds that much power... he could do something like that, right?"

October didn’t answer him at all; she just glanced at her in silence until he looked ahead and continued to just walk.

And soon, they reached the door to their destination. Mr. Friday quickly tapped his card on the terminal, his guard completely up as he was fully expecting someone to jump on them.

After all, the last time he saw the feed was that the door was being covered with some type of crystal box—who knows what was waiting for them inside that box?

But as soon as the doors slid open, the only thing that waited for them there was... the hall.

The crystal box that was blocking the doorway was gone, and all the students were sticking to the walls; most of them were completely terrified by their presence.

The only ones who weren’t... were Riley Ross and his Asian friend.

"What did you do?!" Mr. Friday screamed, marching toward them with violent steps. He crossed his arms and then swung both of them open as he summoned two large frozen orbs that hovered above his palms.

Riley and Tomoe, however, only stared at him even as he neared. And before he could actually approach them, October grabbed both of his wrists from behind and pushed him away, almost causing him to stumble.

She didn’t even spare him a glance and only focused on Riley and Tomoe, staring down at them both.

The two didn’t flinch, nor did they shy away from her glare. If anything, Tomoe even glared back while Riley... well, he didn’t care at all.

"Why did you block the door?" She then focused only on Tomoe, "Crystal materialization, that’s your power. Why did you block the door?"

"Because I didn’t want any of you to enter," Tomoe answered, the tone of her voice still robotic.

"Then why did you remove it?"

"Because I realized that you might see it and become angry. So, I removed it, which proved to be the correct course of action," she said while glancing at Mr. Friday, "You’ve already killed one of us, I didn’t want to be next."

"I was being told that Riley was the one who killed your friend."

"One, I didn’t even know the boy. Two, you are stupid if you think that." Tomoe still did not back away even as October stepped even closer to her, "Three, you people have kidnapped Bernard’s son. All of you are probably going to die here."

"Hmm." October smirked at her words, "We’ll see about that."

And then, without even doing anything else or saying anything, she turned around and walked away. Mr. Friday was utterly confused. His eyes darted back and forth from Riley to her as she hurriedly followed her from behind.

"Shouldn’t we question them more?!"

"Enough, Mr. Friday," October sighed, her steps now hurried as she made her way out of the hall. "These children are already scared of us as it is; dragging Riley away would make them unpredictable. And where are Mr. Monday and Tuesday? They’re the ones responsible for bringing Class 1-V, correct?"

"Y-yes."

"Find them—ask them why Riley Ross is even here."

"I’ve... already called for Mr. Tuesday, he’ll be meeting us back on the bridge. As for Mr. Monday...

...I can’t get a hold of him."

"I see..." October’s eyes narrowed, "...Something is going on here. Search the ship, we can’t return to the headquarters like this."

"What about—"

"Now, Mr. Friday."

"O-of course!" Mr. Friday quickly straightened his back and faced October, nodding at her before turning around and running deeper into the hallway. October watched him disappear, and once she was sure he was gone, she glanced back at the door leading to the students.

"Fuck..." She whispered, "...What’s going on here? This...

...is this also a part of your plan, Bernard?"

***

"Thank you for speaking on my behalf, Tomoe."

"It... is my duty from now on, I believe."

Back inside the hall where the students are being kept, Tomoe and Riley were now seated on the floor like the rest of the students. Gracey was still completely unconscious, and Tomoe was checking on her from time to time to see if she was still breathing properly.

"Did... you do what you set out to do?" She asked.

"I did, Tomoe. I hid him, so he should be very hard to find. You should come with me next time."

"Next... time?" Tomoe blinked, leaving Gracey’s side as she leaned closer to Riley.

"You’re still planning to kill more of them?"

"Of course, Tomoe. This is only day one...

...There are six Days left."
