Chapter 86: Chapter 86: 30% Of This is Dialogue

"I... don’t think it would be wise to kill everyone here. It... would just be ceaseless killing."

"When has it not been ceaseless, Tomoe? I do not kill for any other reason than to appease myself. But I suppose you are right, it would not be wise to kill everyone here—it would be too suspicious that only we would survive."

"Th—"

"That is why I will only choose one, Tomoe."

"What do you—"

"K...kurgh..."

"W-walt?! Walt?!"

"What’s happening to him?!"

"O-oh my god... oh my god!"

"Help! Anyone, please!"

"What the fuck is happening to him?!"

"I don’t think he can breathe! Is he... is he having epilepsy or something?! Put him on his side!"

"Walt! You’ll... you’ll be okay!"

"Please! Anyone. Help! Our friend is dying!"

"I... I have biometric reading! I... I don’t know if I can help, but I can at least tell what’s wrong with him!"

"Please, hurry!"

"W-wait! Please hold him down!"

"We’re trying! He has super strength!"

"I can help with that, Schoolmates."

"You... you’re from Class 1-V. P-please!"

"Do you only need me to stop him from moving, Biometric Reader?"

"Y...yes, please!"

"Okay."

"That would be fine! Please, just hold him for a few seconds!"

"What’s wrong with him?!"

"I’m still checking! Please, be quiet! He—his oxygen levels are really low!"

"Everyone can know that just by looking at him!"

"Can you just please fucking wait!"

"S-sorry."

"Heart rate’s spiking rapidly, increasing pressure on the jugular—he’s choking! His neck is locked!"

"Locked...? Is it an allergy?!"

"No. Something... seems to be strang—"

"Move aside!"

"T-they’re here! The villains are here!"

"H-he’s the one who took us! Ms. Thursday!"

"Move! What is going on here?!"

"H-he... my friend’s choking on something! Please... just... just let us out!"

"Choking... on something? Let me check! Move away from him! Why... isn’t he moving?!"

"He’s keeping him still so that I could read his vitals!"

"The... albino—Riley Ross?"

"Please! Just... you need to let us go! We need to bring him to a hospital!"

"We have our own medic bay here! Move, I’ll bring him there!"

"What are you going to do to him?! Let go of him!"

"Don’t get in my way! I’m taking him to—"

"Oh my god! What did you do?!"

"What the..."

"Y-you killed him! M-monster. You monster!"

"I didn’t do anything to him!"

"O-oh my god! He ripped off his head!"

"N-no. This isn’t—"

"Run! R-run!"

"They... they’re going to kill us!"

"Please... please don’t hurt me!"

"Mama... I want my mama!"

"Everyone, please don’t panic! I didn’t do anything!"

"I... I don’t want to die... please..."

"I didn’t do... you? Why... are you smiling? Wait... did... did you do this?"

The panic and confusion that filled the hall all of a sudden became completely silent. The students of the Mega Academy were still crying and running around, most of them sticking to the wall and banging it just to get away from Ms. Thursday.

How could they not, when she was now completely covered in blood and holding a headless corpse?

They all saw it happen right in front of them. Right in the moment that Ms. Thursday picked their schoolmate up, they all saw his head twist in a direction it shouldn’t—and when Ms. Thursday turned, they watched as his head was suddenly torn away.

Some of them saw it vividly, the way his skin slowly stretched and then popped open. It... looked almost the exact same when you’re trying to eat fried chicken, and you tear the meat along with the skin.

And now, Walt’s head was loosely hanging by a thread, literally—his head was hanging by a single thread of his skin still attached to his neck.

That was why everyone ran away. Super-powered they all may be, they were children.

But of course, the one who was still most confused and afraid was actually Ms. Thursday.

How could she not, when she truly didn’t do anything?

She just carried Walt from the floor, hoping to rush him to their medic... but then she heard it, and even felt it across her arms the moment his head was torn away.

She wanted to help him, but he’s dead all of a sudden—and she didn’t even know why.

Until, that is, on the other side of the curtain of blood that was endlessly showering from her arms, she caught a glimpse of a smile.

A smile that reached from ear to ear. A smile so... sinister and unhinged that it caused her to hold her breath even more so when the boy in her arms was suddenly decapitated.

It was a smile so cold, she didn’t even know what she was looking at.

And then, when the moment the blood no longer formed a curtain between her and the smile, she saw Riley Ross just standing there and staring at her.

There was not even a single trace of a smile on his face. But she knew.

She knew it was him.

And she knew it was he who did this.

"Answer me! Did you do this?!"

Riley, however, did not answer and only stared at Ms. Thursday’s eyes—or rather, at his own reflection from the pair of sunglasses she was wearing. She was the one hiding her face, and her expression was clearer than his.

She stepped forward, but as she was about to confront him, Riley just casually turned around and walked away. He didn’t even glance back at her; he just grabbed Gracey by the collar of her uniform and dragged her away from there. Tomoe also helped him, and they both hauled Gracey’s tall frame to the wall with the rest of the students.

Ms. Thursday was left there right at the very center of the vast hall, still carrying Walt’s corpse. Even her thoughts were silent. But after a few seconds of her just breathing, she looked at Riley... only to see him smiling at her.

"You!"

Ms. Thursday quickly but carefully placed Walt’s corpse on the floor as she rushed toward Riley, each of her steps causing the floor beneath her to cave. And almost in an instant, she was right in front of Riley.

Tomoe quickly moved in front of him, but Riley flicked his finger and gently pulled her to this side, allowing Ms. Thursday to grab him by the collar and lift him up.

Tomoe was about to do something, but when she realized that Riley pulled him back, she remained quiet and just stood beside the unconscious Gracey.

The other students who were near them all screamed in panic, some of them dropping to their knees when they saw Ms. Thursday grab Riley.

"L-let go of him!"

"Please... please don’t kill him! He’s... he’s special!"

"Are... are you even going to kill someone with autism?! You monsters!"

"I didn’t kill anyone!" Ms. Thursday screamed, "It was—"

"Ms. Thursday, that’s enough!"

And before Ms. Thursday could even defend herself or say what she wanted to say, the other members of the Dark Millennium started appearing. They quickly grabbed Ms. Thursday, pinning her to the ground and then restraining her wrists with handcuffs and even putting something on her mouth that wrapped around her head to stop her from speaking.

Everyone watched as they dragged her away—the other members of the Dark Millennium didn’t even address them, and they left Walt’s body just lying there on the floor.

"Oh my god... oh my god. Are you okay?! Did she hurt you?!"

Some of the students started gathering around Riley to check if he was okay. Most, however, were still completely filled with horror.

"They... they said they weren’t going to hurt us! What..."

"Why... why am I even... I’m in the Potential Villain List? I... I will never do anything like this."

"They probably lied to us! They... they’re monsters!"

Unbeknownst to them, they weren’t the only ones panicking.

***

"What have you done?!"

"I-I didn’t do it! You have to believe me! I—"

"Just stay here until October comes!"

Ms. Thursday was thrown inside a holding cell, her hands still bound. She wanted to say something, but the heavy door slid shut in front of her before she could say anything.

"Please! You have to listen to me! There’s someone out there who doesn’t belong with the rest of the students! You have to believe me! Hey! Open this door! Friday! Friday!"

Ms. Thursday kicked the door several times, causing the cell to shake. And it wasn’t until several nozzles emerged from the ceiling that threatened to gas her down did she stop.

The only thing she could really do was sit on the floor and wait.

And she did wait, perhaps for a couple of hours, until someone finally arrived to see her.

"October!"

It was a tall, dark-skinned woman with long, coiled hair that nearly reached her waist. Unlike the other members of the Dark Millennium, the Days, October wasn’t disguised or dressed in the new uniform worn by the freshman students of Mega Academy. Instead, she wore a white tank top, cargo pants, and heavy boots. Half of her face was hidden behind a white mask—a stark contrast to her skin, which was as dark and smooth as a starless midnight.

But perhaps even with all of her striking features, the one that was most noticeable was her dark eyes that stared down coldly at Ms. Thursday.

"You have to believe me, please!" Ms. Thursday begged, "I didn’t... I would never kill a child! And I would never do anything that would put the Dark Millennium’s plan in jeopardy!"

"I will be the judge of that." October looked at the man at her side, "Mr. Friday, get her out. And have you already taken her access card?"

"I will do that now, October."

Mr. Friday quickly opened the door, and Ms. Thursday didn’t struggle at all as she just looked at October with pleading eyes. But after a few seconds, Mr. Friday pushed her down to the floor.

"Where’s your keycard?!" He scowled.

"W-what? What do you mean? It’s in my pocket!"

"It’s not there!"

"What do you—Oh no..." Ms. Thursday’s eyes quickly widened as soon as she remembered how she rushed Riley and grabbed him by the collar,

"...He has my card."
