Leng Pan carried the box with the clothes out of the mansion and left the crystal ball there. She didn’t need it at that moment and felt that there was no need to carry it around. Moreover, she still didn’t know whether the people looking for them had any way to detect something like that.

Getting back to their bed, it was already past midnight, thus the two hugged each other to sleep. It was one of those nights that they wanted nothing more than just to hold each other and not involve sex.

The next morning after some morning workout, the couple headed to the other apartment where their mother and aunt were already working on the winter clothes.

Lu Zhen was carrying the box with the clothes alleged to regulate body temperature.

"Mom, can you look at this material and make a piece for all of us? If it’s enough, make one for assistant Yao and his mother too." Leng Pan said while taking the box out of her husband’s hands and put it on the table.

"What type of material is that?" Auntie Li asked as she walked over to the box to check its contents.

Looking at the material that was as soft as silk, she didn’t understand why Leng Pan found it noteworthy to ask them to specifically make clothes for everyone out of it, but she did feel that her niece-in-law wouldn’t do something pointless.

"Let me see." Li Yunjia had the same thoughts as her sister-in-law and believed that her son and daughter-in-law wouldn’t bring something useless to her to waste time on.

Therefore, whatever that material was, it had to be important.

"I’ll start on that project today. We agreed with your auntie Yao to make some clothes later, maybe she can help out with this." she said as she examined the material she had taken from her sister-in-law.

What the few people didn’t know was that the so-called soft material was actually the creation of very advanced technology. It was made of nanotech that could not be found in the modern world. That was why it had the ability to regulate body temperature, because it responded to external changes and regulated the internal body temperature of the wearer.

This prevented those wearing them from being affected too much by the sudden changes in temperature and freezing to death.

If more of that material could be available, then most of the remaining human population could survive the incoming extreme cold weather.

Unfortunately, none of them knew the significance of that material, and even if they knew, they didn’t have the means to get more.

After breakfast, everyone got to their own things. Auntie Yao also arrived with assistant Yao tagging behind her. He had intended to take her out today, but apparently she had an earlier commitment to make clothes and wasn’t available, so he had to postpone his mission to give his mother a reality check.

When Lu Zhen and Leng Pan took Lu tao to his bedroom to talk about his recent findings, if any, Lu Zhen had his assistant follow along. Even though he didn’t plan on telling him all their secrets, he felt that he needed someone he could trust by his side.

Years of working together with his assistant gave him enough confidence to know that his assistance would never betray him even if it meant death. So, he had no qualms taking him to the meeting.

"Did you find anything new?"Lu Zhen asked as soon as the door to Lu Tao’s bedroom was closed.

It was not that he was eager for results, but he hoped to make progress before the cold weather set in.

"I did find something. It looks like there are two groups looking for you. One is an ally, the other, I can’t judge." Lu Tao finally decided to stop playing dumb.

His brother wasn’t stupid, he was sure that his brother had probably already figured out that he knew they were the target of that group of people. So, there was no need to hide it or pretend to be stupid anymore.

"How did you differentiate the two?" Lu Zhen asked with curiosity.

"Their conversation. You will know once you listen." Lu Tao replied then proceeded to play a recording of the conversations he had intercepted.

One was a recording of a phone call between the Dominion leader, commander Qiu with Vortex where the commander was asking if they had located the catalyst core or if they had identified the person in possession of it.

His orders were to find her at all cost and even some speculation about ’her’ being back were thrown around. Lu Tao was smart enough to realize that his brother and sister-in-law weren’t ordinary but didn’t ask questions.

Nothing would change the fact that they were his family and he was willing to do anything to protect them.That was why he monitored any frequency he could find religiously.

The second recording also mentioned ’her’ a couple of times, but their tone was different. It was more friendly and the content of the conversation suggested that the people talking were most likely looking for their leader. They just didn’t know where or how to find her.

Listening to everything that was said in those recordings, Lu Zhen and Leng Pan could finally be sure that those people were indeed looking for them. To be more precise, they were looking for Leng Pan.

What was more important was that all these people seem to come from the forgotten era of that high-tech mansion. Leng Pan couldn’t understand why or how those people knew so much when all she got was a few flashback memories about her life as commander Leng.

She believed that if she found those people, then she would get the answers she needed. However, she didn’t dare to take a risk. What if the situation was not the same as what she had imagined? That was a huge risk. Therefore, she had better do the research herself.
