Chapter 89: Chapter 68 Life Cage Wall_2
If Aske had been here, he would have definitely recognized the voice as that of Guard Captain Michael — though by now his position had already been taken by none other than Her Majesty Zoe, and he no longer held any official court position.
"Indeed," Varomina slightly turned her head back and gave a "you understand" look.
In the Shadow Realm, Mia was listening to their conversation and was utterly confused. However, she caught one phrase they mentioned, which was "nefarious intent".
Are they talking about me and Aske?
Mia had a sharp intuition that these two were actually communicating in secret code.
Since everyone had nefarious intentions, perhaps their goals were aligned; she decided she might as well follow them a bit longer to see where this was heading.
Following the two deep into the monastery, Varomina and Michael reached the end of the corridor and suddenly stopped in front of a certain room.
Mia stopped as well — her Spiritual Intuition told her that there was some kind of danger lurking at the doorway, and even in the Shadow Realm, she could be exposed if she stepped inside.
"Her Highness," Varomina produced an Imperial Decree from her sleeve, "I bear His Majesty’s sacred decree to visit the Princess. Please withdraw your sentinel enchantments."
The dangerous presence extended, inspected the Imperial Decree in Varomina’s hand for a moment, and then slowly withdrew — The Demigod from the Church did not meticulously check Varomina’s identity, nor the robed figure by her side.
The main reason, of course, was that the Imperial Decree was genuine.
Another reason was that the Orthodox Church had convened a cardinal meeting this morning, and the head of the Church expressed concern about the rapid expansion of the Seljuk heretics in Anatolia, thus the initial indifference over Zoe Her Majesty’s sudden political coup in the court turned into a cautious and conservative stance.
Perhaps the Princess in that room might find herself back on the ivory throne in the Golden Governance Palace in a few days.
It wasn’t wise to block a meeting with her, treating her like a prisoner at this moment.
The dangerous Spiritual force had departed! Just as Aske had described! Mia was momentarily speechless. The overseeing Demigod was indeed lax!
With a mixed feeling of fear and fortune, Mia stepped into the room from the Shadow Realm.
As Aske had described, the overseeing Demigod maintained a basic respect for the person detained in the room and therefore did not cover the entire room with Spirituality.
Inside the room sat an extremely beautiful young girl, about 17 years old, her mere presence on the edge of the bed exuded extremely high nobility.
At that moment, Theodora wasn’t wearing a veil but was in a thin nightgown. Thus, as soon as Mia saw her face, her gaze was firmly captured.
Such perfect features she had, almost making Mia feel ashamed of her own.
When she came to her senses, she saw that Varomina and Michael had already quietly exchanged intelligence with Theodora and left the room.
Theodora stood up from the chair, looked out the window with a melancholic expression, utterly heartbreaking.
They had already left; she must act quickly according to the plan, otherwise, the Demigod could redirect his attention back here at any moment!
Mia’s mind flashed with this thought, and her body was already in motion.
Return to the Main Plane!
Unnoticed, transport Theodora to Fire Island!
Return to the Shadow Realm! Then flee, flee, flee, flee, flee, flee, flee!!!
She ran for her life, breathless with effort, and after just over a minute, a storm of Spirituality suddenly swept through the Monastery.
"That Demigod has found us!" Mia thought in a terrified frenzy as she quickened her pace to escape.
In the Main Plane, Varomina and Michael were walking along a corridor when suddenly, a figure dressed in Orthodox robes appeared in front of them.
"Stay right there, don’t move!" the Church Demigod said coldly, using his Spiritual Intuition to once again activate the mystical items around him, frantically searching the entire Monastery.
To be precise, it was the Monastery in the Main Plane.
"Your Lordship, we..." Varomina was instantly filled with intense anxiety.
If Princess Zoe discovered that Michael had been brought into the Monastery by her, her "betrayal" would be completely confirmed.
"Shut up!" the Church Demigod snapped angrily, his fierce gaze fixating on Michael.
"Take off your hood, now!" he commanded urgently.
Reluctantly, Michael complied, removing his hood to reveal the face of the Royal Guard Captain. The Church Demigod scrutinized his features, scanning him from head to toe with Spirituality, his expression turning odd.
"You two stay here! Don’t go anywhere without my permission!" the Church Demigod ordered, once again scanning the Monastery in the Main Plane, but still not finding any suspicious faces.
His right hand went to his waist, grasping a pendulum made of gold.
He began scanning the nearby Subconscious Ocean.
Meanwhile, Mia had already made her way back to the sewer, scrambling through the gap in the wire fence and starting to sprint madly again.
Minutes later, she located the entrance she had used before and skillfully climbed out.
Then she slipped back into the reality of the Main Plane and swiftly left the alley.
At that moment, the Church Demigod’s search finally yielded a discovery: in the Shadow Realm, his thorough scan revealed that the electric fence had been cut.
"Damn! The enemy has used the material synchronization delay between the Shadow Realm and the Main Plane!" the Demigod immediately went to the sewer location, grasping and activating another mystical item—a pitch-black hourglass—beginning a broad scan of the Monastery’s vicinity in the Shadow Realm.
In his right hand, he pulled out his phone and quickly dialed an emergency number.
Just 10 seconds later, a massive, semi-transparent, circular wall composed of Extraordinary Power suddenly appeared, encircling the Monastery with a radius of 1000 meters, completely isolating the inside from the outside.
No Life Bodies, Spiritual Bodies, or Mind Bodies could pass through this barrier.
Its isolating effect was so brutally simple that it immediately caused a certain level of chaos.
On the road, a night bus was speeding along, carrying passengers inside at 25 kilometers per hour, when it crashed into the semi-transparent wall.
The bus passed through the wall smoothly, but the passengers inside were turned into lifeless pulp, smeared across the back of the bus seats.
In a nearby apartment building, some unlucky fellow who had gotten up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom found the entrance to the toilet blocked by the semi-transparent wall, trapping him inside.
And he wasn’t the most unfortunate... along the circular line with a radius of 1000 meters, there were about a dozen unlucky individuals whose beds were on the circumference line, so that when the wall appeared, their bodies were instantly cut in half.
If it were not for the fact that it was the middle of the night and the vast majority of people were asleep at home, an even greater chaos would likely have erupted on the spot.
