Chapter 85: Chapter 66 Conspiracy Sequence

"Do you want me to drink this magic potion?" In the ancestral home on the third floor, Mia asked dubiously as she looked at the magic potion Aske had taken out.

"Yeah," Aske said, "Shadow Dancer bloodline, the next magic potion is Evasion I."

"That’s not right," Mia said. "I already have Shadow I, so the next potion should be Shadow II."

"That’s not how it works," Medea explained. "Any bloodline consists of more than three magic potion sequences. The order of consumption only needs to adhere from the lower to the higher sequences; there’s no restriction on which potion sequence to consume first."

"For example, since you already have Shadow I, you can then take Evasion I next, and there won’t be any problem. Starting with the lower-level potions from different sequences is known as ’The Stable Path.’"

"What you need to be careful about is whether you should take a higher-level potion before you’ve consumed all of the lower-level potions in the sequences," Medea continued. "Using the same example, since you already have Shadow I, you should take Evasion I next."

"But if you choose to take Shadow II before that, the short-term benefit is a rapid increase in combat strength because Shadow II is more powerful than other Sequence I potions."

"The long-term risk, however, increases because of the potential loss of control. When you subsequently take Weakness I, the potion will clash violently with Shadow II, significantly increasing your risk of losing control. This approach is known as ’The Steep Path.’"

"In the long run, the majority of Transcendents should choose The Stable Path, consuming all the lower-level potions in their bloodline sequences before gradually moving to higher ones."

"This is the most prudent way; once you have consumed all the low-level potions in the sequences, the risk of losing control later is much lower."

"However, there are several circumstances under which a Transcendent might be forced to choose The Steep Path." Medea held up two fingers.

"First, if you are about to face great danger and need to quickly enhance your strength; second, if the combination of bloodline potions you have is incomplete and you don’t know which other sequence to take, you might choose to first strengthen yourself in your current sequence."

"Miss Mia, which of these situations applies to you?"

"Umm," Mia hesitated, "So should I take this Evasion I potion? What does it do? Will it cause any conflicts? I’m afraid of the pain..."

"The effect of Evasion I allows you to precisely control time and distance, enhancing your ability to dodge attacks," Aske explained. "Once you’ve assimilated it, the enemy will have a harder time hitting you."

"Eh, so if you try to hit me in the name of training, would my chances of dodging successfully also be higher?" Mia’s eyes brightened.

This little brat, always worried about me? Aske’s expression darkened, only to see Medea smilingly say:

"Yes, as long as you’ve taken the Evasion Potion, unless Aske simultaneously takes a Hit Potion, his chances of hitting you are definitely reduced."

"Then I’ll drink it." Mia took the Evasion I potion from Aske’s hand and went downstairs to find Nora for care.

"It’s not nice to trick a child like this," Aske said softly.

"I’m not deceiving anyone," Medea smiled warmly, "I just said that your chances of hitting her would be reduced. Even if it’s from 100% to 99.9%, I’m not lying."

"By the way, speaking of my Conspiracy I Recipe, do you have any leads?" she crossed her arms and asked.

"I know someone who definitely has it," Aske replied. "He’s now at the Galata Peninsula, one of the leaders commanding the Frank Knights in their attack on Constantinople. Concurrently, he’s the planner of this war — Venice Governor Enrique, a high-ranking Transcendent in the Conspiracy Sequence."

"Hmm, so what should we do? Kidnap him, then interrogate him under torture?" Medea pondered. "It’s probably very difficult to outwit a Transcendent in the Conspiracy Sequence, so maybe we should just sneak up close and capture him— a simple and brute method might be more effective."

"He’s probably in hiding now, and we might not be able to find him," Aske said.

"Why?" Medea frowned.

"Because a Transcendent in the Conspiracy Sequence will perceive it through the Subconscious Ocean once you attempt to plot against him," Aske explained. "The lower sequences might only feel that someone harbors malice towards him, the higher sequences can even receive specific information."

"Like how you just spelled out the conspiracy, he probably heard it loud and clear."

Medea: .........

"It doesn’t have to be so complicated," Aske said. "We can just buy it straight from him."

"Buy?" Medea was puzzled.

"Yes, buy." Aske affirmed, "I know Governor Enrique has a son named Ranelli, who is officially declared dead in the war between the Venetians and the Genoese."

"However, he’s actually just faking his death, having taken a new identity long ago in the Sirius Province and even married a local girl."

"What do you say, if the citizens of East Solomon from Sirius Province find out that the mastermind behind the attack on Constantinople, Governor Enrique Dandolo, has his own son living right here in the Sirius Province? What kind of terrible, cruel, and inhumane acts might some mobs commit?"

Aske paused, then took out his phone and continued to mutter to himself, "The above is the simple conspiracy I’ve concocted, driven by malice towards you, I believe you must have sensed it by now, Governor Enrique."

"If you’re willing to sell the recipe for the Conspiracy Potion, please set your price and send it to my CM account ’Asker.’ After I’ve paid, then you can send over the recipe information."

"If I haven’t received any message within a minute, then I’ll assume you’ve given up on negotiations, and this simple conspiracy might just be put into execution."

Under Medea’s stunned gaze, about five seconds passed, and a new friend request popped up on Aske’s phone screen.

Nickname: "Blindness_Elder"

To think it could still be done like this! Medea was dumbfounded. By using the other party’s sensitivity to malice and intentionally speaking the content of the conspiracy to make the other party sense it, the real goal of remote communication and threatening was achieved...

This move is too slick!

Aske clicked to accept the friend request, and soon "Blindness_Elder" sent a voice message:

"You are the sniper who killed my assistant yesterday afternoon and then locked down the Galata Bridge with a sniper rifle."

"You guessed wrong," Aske replied quickly, "Let’s not play these mutual probing games. You sell the recipe, I’ll pay, and your son can continue teaching in Sirius without any malicious disturbances, how about that?"

After a long silence, the other side replied, "Conspiracy I Recipe, 100 pounds."

How did he know we wanted to buy the Conspiracy I Recipe? Medea was taken aback, then quickly realized.

Right, if I were already a Transcendent of the Conspiracy Sequence, I would know about "sensing malice" and wouldn’t blatantly mention it.

"Deal, give me the account," Aske replied.

The other side immediately reported a long bank account number and added, "The account holder’s name is ’Giovanni’. We don’t accept the currency of the East Solomon Empire, you need to buy foreign exchange and convert it into silver marks to complete the payment."

"No problem," Aske replied.

After the transfer was completed, the other party sent a voice message with the orally dictated Conspiracy I Magic Potion Recipe:

- Main Ingredient -

A pair of tentacles from the Crystalline Gembeetle

- Subsidiary Ingredients -

One pituitary gland from a Shadow Insects

500ml of ink from an Architeuthis

20ml of serotonin

- Processing -

Boil the ink of the Architeuthis, add 20ml of serotonin, and quickly cool to 0-4 degrees, then add one pituitary gland from the Shadow Insects. Let it rest until it returns to room temperature, then add a pair of tentacles from the Crystalline Gembeetle and drink the liquid once the tentacles have fully submerged.

"Is this recipe real?" Medea expressed doubt.

"The ingredients are real, the processing method is wrong," Aske replied. "If I remember correctly, the preparation of Conspiracy I Magic Potion should be done in a colder environment, symbolizing cool and ruthless thinking, and it shouldn’t involve boiling."

"Am I right, Lord Enrique? Maybe I should pay a visit to your son’s address, I heard his wife gave you a new grandchild two years ago..."

"Hehe, I’m getting older, so it’s normal to have a poor memory," the other side said after a long pause. "The processing method should be changed to: add serotonin to the room temperature ink of the Architeuthis, cool it to 0-4 degrees, then add one pituitary gland from the Shadow Insects, and finally lower the temperature to below 0 degrees before adding the tentacles of the Crystalline Gembeetle."

"This time it’s real, right?" Medea still expressed doubt.

"It should be," Aske said. "Don’t worry, if you lose control because of taking the wrong Magic Potion, I will definitely go to Sirius to avenge you."

Medea’s tears flowed, can we first make sure about the recipe? Don’t wait for me to die before seeking revenge!

"Just a reminder," the voice message from the other side said, "there are many reasons for losing control: for example, having undigested Magic Potion in your body, having previously taken a higher Sequence Exotic Species Magic Medicine, or even being in a bad mood that day causing instability in your spirituality."

"I understand what you mean, Governor Enrique," Aske replied. "If the Magic Potion Recipe you provided is real, she most likely won’t lose control for other reasons."

"Once the Magic Potion is prepared, you can also find other Transcendents of similar Sequences to evaluate it," the voice message continued. "For example, those from the Mind Sequence or Desire Sequence, through their spiritual intuition about the mind, can broadly perceive whether the preparation of the Magic Potion is a success or a failure."

"Okay, thank you for your guidance, Lord Enrique," Aske said with his last words and then blocked and deleted this friend.

"Seeing how anxious he was, the modified recipe is probably real," Medea thought thoughtfully.

"Exactly," Aske nodded. "But we still have to be prepared for the one-in-a-million chance it’s not... No worries, I remember where that guy’s son lives. The old can run, but the young can’t escape."

"If I die, I don’t need you to avenge me," Medea said expressionlessly. "Just come down and join me will do."

"Hmm, I remember that your androphobia is a physical instinct," Aske pondered. "Does that mean it will remain in the body? When you are buried, I’ll put you in the pit first, then come down and touch you, so we can even save the money on cremation."

"No, I meant for you to go die," Medea rolled her eyes unamusedly.
