Chapter 478: Chapter 93 Tyrant

"Your Majesty!" Under the watchful eyes of two Blade Warriors with their hands on their swords, Eleanor’s gaze pierced through the gap in her face mask, locking onto Emperor Otto from afar, "I beseech you to allow me to speak!"

"I am listening," the Emperor declared with authority.

"Your Majesty, I am a knight of the Empire. You once proclaimed your desire to make this Empire great again, and thus you have led us to this battlefield!" Eleanor shouted passionately, "Because of this, I have fought for the Empire, bleeding for our cause. My loved ones and friends have also fallen in battle not long ago!"

The surrounding soldiers and knights stayed silent; all eyes were focused on her, while Eleanor, fearless, continued to shout:

"Yet this war drags on with no end in sight, and there is no hope for victory in the near future! Can you tell me, Your Majesty, when will this cruel war, which has taken the lives of my loved ones and friends, finally end?"

"First and foremost," Emperor Otto spoke gravely, "I offer my profound condolences for the sacrifice of your loved ones and friends. Their contributions to the Empire will not be forgotten."

"Secondly, this war is indeed arduous and merciless; many brave children of the Empire have shed their blood on this land. But as long as we stand united, with a single-minded resolve, we will surely seize the ultimate victory..."

"Your Majesty!" Eleanor interrupted him with grief and anger, "I know you are waiting for the next Magic Tide. Yet you see, the Magic Tide has not come, and the Church Court’s offensive grows stronger each day!"

"At this rate, if the Magic Tide takes another month to arrive, we will be nearly annihilated before then! How can the Empire be made great again in this way?

"Knight! Sacrifices on the battlefield are inevitable!" The Emperor’s tone also grew stern, "But that cannot justify your fear of battle! The Empire has so many demigods here, with even more crossing the Alps, hurrying to the battlefield in Italy!"

"What evidence do you have to declare that the Imperial Army will be nearly destroyed in the coming month?"

With these words, the surrounding knights and soldiers immediately became excited. More demigods were on their way? Did that not mean there was still hope for victory in this war?

"Your Majesty!" Eleanor remained unmoved, only continuing with heavy sorrow, "I have been on this battlefield for several months, from Verona to here, and I have personally participated in the difficult fights along the way. The Church Court’s firepower is continuously being upgraded, and it’s now beyond what ordinary soldiers can withstand!"

"The demigods are indeed a formidable force on the battlefield, true, but they only protect Your Majesty and the Great Nobles. When have they ever had the spare effort to protect the ordinary knights and soldiers?"

As soon as these words were spoken, the surrounding excited chatter suddenly silenced, and a strange atmosphere spread among the soldiers and knights.

"Preposterous!" The Emperor roared furiously, "You who cannot distinguish between the high and low! Knowing very well the limited power of the demigods, how dare you blindly expect them to protect you? As an Imperial soldier, instead of thinking how to serve the Empire and your Lords faithfully, you cower from death and blindly direct your resentment towards the demigods and nobles. Which Duchy’s knight are you?!"

"So, Your Majesty..." Eleanor spoke mournfully, "Are the lives of you and the nobles more precious than those of ordinary people? To achieve your strategic goal of ’making the Empire great again,’ should these common-born soldiers and knights naturally rush to their deaths, become the vanguard for the king, and pave your path to glory with their blood and bones?!"

Her voice quivered and rose:

"Even if the hopes for victory in this war are now tragically slim!"

"Even if we continue to fight, the vast majority of ordinary soldiers and knights have no hope of survival!!"

"Even so, do you still intend to gamble the entire Empire on this game of chance? To wager the lives of thousands of Imperial soldiers on that one in ten thousand chance to realize your ambition?!!"

"Shut up!!!" The Emperor’s expression was completely out of control, his face frightfully contorted with fury, "Kill her! Blade Warrior! Execute this audacious and contemptible rebel for her insolence and treason!!!"

"So, that’s how it is." Realizing that the Emperor had completely lost interest in defending himself, Eleanor lowered her head behind her Face Mask, a bitter smile emerging from her disappointment.

Although she had anticipated this, it was only now that she finally confirmed the reality, crushing the last sliver of hope in her heart.

This Emperor clearly did not care about the lives of ordinary soldiers and knights. Or rather, to him, the lives of common soldiers were merely numbers on a betting table in the face of victory in war.

...He was a tyrant.

Faced with the bright flash of the Blade Warrior’s sword coming towards her, Eleanor suddenly lifted her head:

"...Otto!" She screamed in agony.

Countless blood-stained faces, her brother Henry’s, Knight Captain John’s, the knights in the dungeons who suffered injuries from unjust accusations, and all the faces of the tragically sacrificed and hanged soldiers twisted before her eyes, mouthing with her in a furious and crazed roar, using all the strength they had never possessed before:

"Fuck you!"

In an instant, an intense white light tore through the battlefield.

Two Blade Warriors were cut in half at the waist, their Power Armor, skeletons, flesh, and spines were violently torn apart under the flash of the sword, leaving behind surfaces that were smooth to the extreme.

Eleanor maintained her sword-wielding stance, as the dense, pure white radiance completely enveloped her Longsword. It solidified and shone like the Morning Star, blindingly bright to the point that it was nearly impossible to look directly at it without risking blindness.

Even more pure white radiance spread from her entire body, rapidly flowing along the surface of her armor, eventually wrapping her into a humanoid form made of light, like a blazing-winged Angel, a child of the Morning Star, wielding a Holy Sword descending from the heavens, as if God’s Thunder had come to earth.

"Your Majesty, be careful!" More Blade Warriors charged forward, while the rest shielded and escorted the Emperor, retreating in fear and panic.

Now even the most ignorant soldiers could see that this "Child of the Morning Star," this "Angel of Light," was clearly no ordinary person or Low Rank Transcendent.

"I knew it! I knew it! There must be a High Rank Transcendent in the army attempting to assassinate me!" The Emperor Otto, being dragged away in a frantic escape, still shouted in extreme rage, "In the name of the Saxon Family, the supreme monarch of the Holy Solomon Empire, I declare this person a permanent enemy of the Empire! Any citizen of the Empire who sees her, kill on sight!"

A large number of Blade Knights equipped with Power Armor rushed in, swords, axes, spears, and the flow of bullets fired by surrounding Empire Knights, attacked Eleanor like a dense tide.

However, before the solidified white light around her, all of it seemed like eggs smashing against a stone, either violently repelled or shattered by the force of the recoil.

"Get lost!"

Eleanor roared with all her might, her Long Spear sweeping out in a huge half-circle. The white light concentrated on the shaft was tremendously powerful, instantly cutting four Blade Warriors, along with their Power Armor, cleanly in half at the waist without any obstruction.

Then she pulled the spear in front of her, tucking it under her arm, and quickly assumed a stance.
