Chapter 336: Chapter 134 Horse King

As the three of them ventured deeper, the terrain gradually descended, revealing that the sharp structures above were merely roofs, the true indoor spaces buried underground.

Medea subtly extended a graceful palm and grasped Aske’s right hand. Mind Power slowly spread through her palm.

"It seems, Your Highness, your illness has truly healed," Marquina said as she watched the pair hold hands. Tears welled up in her eyes and she took out a handkerchief to dab them. "All my past efforts have not been in vain, and now a great weight has been lifted from my heart."

"Shut up, Marquina!" Medea snapped coldly.

"She’s no good," Medea communicated through Mind Power, connecting her mind body with Aske’s—what is termed "Mind Communication."

It was a remarkable sensation, the thoughts within their minds appeared naturally in the others’. Mind Communication Channel had a sense of dialogue, while Mind Communication nearly fused their mind bodies into one entity. It was as if each could find parts of themselves in the other, creating the illusion that even the words spoken by the other were their own musings.

"Do you know, when she was little, she incited the court guards to burst into my bedroom under the pretext of curing my phobia of men," Medea scoffed.

"The outcome for those guards must not have been good," Aske said.

"They were burned," Medea said. "Back then, I truly lacked a sense of security, just seeing those men charging towards me would trigger uncontrollable fear in my body."

"So, when did you become as you are now?" Aske asked.

"Probably when I was about seventeen," Medea said. "I was sent to Constantinople as bait for intelligence."

"Intelligence bait?"

"On the surface, I was the intelligence officer installed by the Seljuk Empire in the East Solomon Empire," Medea explained. "In reality, there was another. I was just the decoy out in the open. The real intelligence agent was someone else."

"Who was that?"

"It’s not important anymore," Medea said. "Two years later, after I discovered his true identity, I schemed to expose him to the Imperial Army who then took care of him."

"Just like you," Aske said. "Had you been planning betrayal since then?"

"I was just fighting for my own life," Medea replied. "Back then, I really didn’t trust anyone in the world, nor did I want to continue being the intelligence officer, so I thought of faking my own death."

"Uh-huh," Aske murmured thoughtfully.

"First, I used some of the intelligence I already had to swindle resources from the Seljuk Empire," Medea said. "Then, I used these resources to nurture a somewhat ambitious vampire."

"I ordered the vampire to murder your parents and then used that as a base to establish a lair. If everything went as planned, it was only a matter of time before the Church discovered it, and once the Blood Clan was eradicated, your estate would become ownerless. Then I could buy other factions and purchase the estate from the Church."

"And then stage a fake death to completely sever ties with the Seljuk Empire and move into your house to lie low."

"So it was my house you were after," Aske said.

"More precisely, the house of the original owner of this body," Medea said. "Of course, I didn’t know your true identity then, so when this ’Aske’ went out of control, I sent the vampire to kill you."

"Thinking about it, you owe me a favor," Aske said. "A plot to take my life isn’t something so easily forgiven."

"Eh, isn’t that why I signed a contract with you?" Medea threw him a flirty glance, letting him ponder it. "Listen well, the person we’re going to meet next is not as easy to handle as me."

"How tough is it to deal with?"

"Imagine the worst aspect of my personality, then magnify it by ten thousand times."

"Ten thousand Medeas, that’s terrifying."

The three continued to move downward, the corridor decorations slowly becoming more luxurious, with paintings and tapestries beginning to appear on the walls on both sides, and the hard stone floor covered by soft Ilanian carpets. Every few meters, there was a carved wall lamp, flashing with a bright light from an unknown principle.

"You must have some understanding of her, right?" Medea asked.

"What, your mother? Why do you always refer to her as ’she’?"

"I really have no motherly impression of her." Medea said, "Calling her mother feels a bit weird."

"Uh, in our previous life’s forum, the impression of her was actually very vague, and she was even less popular than you."

"Vague? Why? She’s quite attractive, you men should particularly like her."

"You don’t understand, she had a nickname in the forum, ’Horse King’."

"Horse King? Does it refer to the commonly used position?"

"No," Aske said, "she was censored from head to toe."

Medea: .........

"Your mother’s version that appeared, at that time, the industry was regulating the phenomenon of selling sex in games," Aske explained. "The game company was supposed to delete your mother’s character entirely from the game."

"That exaggerated?" Medea felt a bit regretful. Why not delete it?

"Yeah, later when the player forum got the news, it exploded. Quite a few people even called the Bureau of Industry and Commerce to complain." Aske laughed, "Because the expansion pack’s promotional PV featured this character, and then your officials deleted it without a word, messing up the entire main storyline, leaving the players with nothing to play."

"Basically, the character design was your gaming company’s own issue, they just needed to modify it according to policy. But crudely deleting the character, especially one already shown in the PV, that’s just shifting the problem onto the players."

"I can understand." Medea said, "What was the specific expansion pack?"

"Purgatory Invasion." Aske replied, "It said your mother was attempting to interfere with the Main Plane, sending people to lurk beside the monarchs of continental countries, implanting thoughts and brainwashing subtly. This conspiracy was discovered by the organization of Purgatory’s Jailers, who then called upon players to battle her."

"As a result, the players finally made it inside Lingbo City, only to find your mother... ha ha, her key parts were all pixelated, and then the BOSS description was ’shrouded in mysterious Purgatory magic’. The funniest part was, even her face was pixelated."

"Since then, everyone has called her Horse King, the king of censorship."

"I’ve decided," Medea said, "From now on I’ll just call her Horse King."

"You really are a filial daughter," Aske said.

"If she asks, I’ll explain it as ’King of Stud Horses’." Medea coldly chuckled, "Anyway, she hardly cares about her own reputation. By the way, that conspiracy you mentioned earlier..."

"According to this timeline, it shouldn’t have been launched yet," Aske said.

"Um." Medea then began pondering again how to capitalize on this information.
