Chapter 220 - 18 Sonic Boom Attack
Chapter 220: Chapter 18 Sonic Boom Attack
Richarter was swung up with the shaft of the gun and slammed heavily onto the ground, then bounced back up into the air. Aske’s lance struck like a dragon, as a glint of cold light attacked again.
Cloud Piercing!
The first Cloud Piercing skimmed past his shoulder—the old Sword Saint, actually twisted his waist in mid-air, where there was nothing to leverage, and somehow managed a slight displacement, avoiding the vital points.
Then, he crossed his longsword in the air and blocked the second Cloud Piercing, his entire body leveraging the force to fly backward.
Aske expressionlessly retracted his long spear.
From the outset of their clash, Aske had detected that this old man was holding back, controlling his Physical Power around Level 6, otherwise, just the speed of Demigod Level alone would have been enough to make it impossible for Aske to fight back.
However, it only took one starting move of Dragon Continuous Attack from Aske to force the Sword Saint to no longer suppress his own strength, suddenly releasing and significantly increasing his suppressed Physical Power.
After all, he was a Physical Demigod; even under the current suppression of the Magic Tide, he could still do as he pleased.
"You’re better than I expected," Richarter said, pressing his left hand on the wound at his lower back, which quickly stopped bleeding.
It wasn’t the power of the Flesh Sequence but simply the strong physical qualities of a demigod that had instantly scabbed the wound.
Aske was completely speechless. With such a disparity in level and attributes, what was the point of continuing this fight? Couldn’t he just admit defeat?
"You are worthy of greater strength, come at me again," Richarter shouted, launching another attack with his sword.
His body disappeared from its spot. Aske’s vision blurred and he quickly blocked with his swords, then felt a massive force travel up the blades, pushing him to rapidly fly backward.
The old Sword Saint’s Physical Power seemed to have exceeded Level 20 by now, his speed entirely surpassing what Aske’s naked eye could see. Aske could only rely on his rich tactical experience to predict the opponent’s attacks and preemptively defend...
Strictly speaking, he couldn’t even fully block the attacks; he could only jump up in the air at the instant of parrying and use displacement to dispel the force. If his feet were on the ground, he might have been broken and fallen by now.
While flying backward in the air, Aske caught a glimpse of something flashing below—although he couldn’t see what it was, he guessed who it must be and immediately twisted his body to thrust out with his longsword.
The longsword stabbed into empty space, but suddenly it was as if it hit something—Richarter’s figure appeared there, his longsword blocking Aske’s Thrust, positioned over his chest at the heart.
"Interesting," Richarter began to laugh.
With his current speed of movement, this young man should have been unable to see him with the naked eye.
And yet, his initial Half Moon Slash had been preemptively met with an Attack Block by the opponent.
After having knocked his opponent into the air, he rushed below to attempt a lifting slash, only to have the opponent preemptively thrust in mid-air, forcing him to change his move at the last moment to block the attack.
This young man, without being able to clearly see his movements, had still managed to respond adequately twice in a row, which only proved that his combat consciousness was much stronger than that of an ordinary swordsman.
Qualified swordsmanship skills, exceptional tactical awareness, and so... what is your resilience level?

Nuremberg and Hans were walking with their swords through the mist.
"Where exactly has our teacher gone?" Hans sighed, "Nuremberg, if it wasn’t for you charging too far ahead on the battlefield to kill that monster, our teacher wouldn’t have disappeared."
"Hans, when I was slaying the monster, weren’t you also beside me, fighting with your sword?" Nuremberg retorted, "You know the state of our teacher’s mind as well, since I was at the front line killing the enemy, why didn’t you stay behind and keep an eye on him?"
"Then let’s get this straight," Hans shook his head, "First, I was the one who rushed out... I thought you would be watching the teacher from behind."
"When you rushed out, I was already engaged in battle with another mutant," Nuremberg said.
The two swordsmen argued while making rapid progress until Nuremberg suddenly stopped and said,
"Wait! I can sense the Sword Intent of our teacher."
"Oh, come on," Hans sneered, "Don’t tell me you’ve also caught the madness of the teacher, this thing about swords having souls or whatever..."
His face also changed abruptly because a huge noise came from ahead—that was... a Sonic Boom!
Two Swordsmen hurried forward and saw Aske flying out from the mist, still holding a Shield in his hand.
Then there was another Sonic Boom. Aske’s expressionless face deflected the Shield to the side as if hit by an invisible shockwave, and then his body flew out again...
The two Swordsmen stared blankly as he "flew further and further away."
"It’s the teacher!" Nuremberg almost cried out in joy, shouting loudly, "Teacher! We’re here!"
"How do you know it’s the teacher?" Hans asked skeptically, "I didn’t see anything."
"Nonsense! Who else but the teacher can break the sound barrier with Physical Power alone?" Nuremberg said contemptuously.
"Just because there’s a Sonic Boom doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the teacher," Hans retorted.
"Then why don’t you move with a Sonic Boom and let me see?" Nuremberg challenged.
"I can’t do it, but that doesn’t mean no one else but the teacher can," Hans argued.
"Because there are only a few Physical Demigods on this continent..." Nuremberg started to explain, then suddenly, as if realizing something, he looked at Hans with utter astonishment.
Hans also slowly widened his eyes, and after looking at each other for a moment, they both cast their incredulous gazes into the distance.
If the recent Sonic Boom was indeed created by the teacher, then who was the young man who managed to counter the Sonic Boom Attack in mid-air...
Who is that guy?
Is he even human?
Probably not a human, right?
Right, could he be the mastermind behind this Mutant occurrence?
The two Swordsmen hurriedly chased after the figure, but it was impossible to see clearly in the mist, so they could only judge the location by the sound of the Sonic Booms.
However, the sound of the Sonic Boom was sometimes on the left, now on the right, at this moment in front, and then suddenly behind them, the location changing each second, making it impossible to lock on a direction.
"Judging from the rhythmic Sonic Booms, the teacher is still holding back," Nuremberg analyzed, "If the teacher were fighting with all his might, the Sonic Booms would be continuous and endless, not like how it is now, once every second. Not to mention the impact force generated by the Sonic Booms alone is enough to turn a regular person into a mushy pulp with a single hit."
"Being able to catch an attack once a second also means he’s not human," Hans quipped, "Could you block the teacher’s attack like the other person is doing?"
"I can’t block a single Sonic Boom," Nuremberg admitted frankly, "What I mean is, if it were the mastermind, the teacher definitely wouldn’t be holding back."
"Which means the other person is just an ordinary person," he pondered for a moment, then continued, "The teacher is holding back simply to test the other person’s strength."
"Do you have some misunderstanding about the definition of an ordinary person?" Hans said, "I’ll emphasize again, a person who can catch a Sonic Boom Attack is an ordinary person?"
"Hans, why do you always care about these irrelevant details?" Nuremberg said impatiently, "Regardless if the other person is an ordinary person or not, since the teacher has no hostility toward him, that person is not our enemy."
"So what?" Hans asked, "What are you trying to say?"
"We should stop their fight," Nuremberg said earnestly, "The teacher might not have ill intentions, but it’s not the first or second time he has gone berserk in battle. What if he accidentally kills the other person?"
"You’re right," Hans agreed, "Then I’ll leave this arduous task to you."
"Are you kidding?" Nuremberg began to smile wryly, "By myself, there’s no way I could stop the teacher’s Sonic Boom Attack."
"So you do know it’s the teacher using Sonic Boom Attacks?" Hans mocked, "Don’t say just the two of us, even if all the Swordsmen of the Richartnal Knights were here, we still couldn’t stop the teacher in this situation, okay?"
"Hmm..." Nuremberg also hesitated.
"How about this, as the teacher’s favorite disciple, you let me draw my sword and hold it to your neck, pretend I’m going to kill you, maybe the teacher will stop the attack and come to stop me," Hans suggested.
"What if the teacher doesn’t stop?" Nuremberg asked.
"Then you will be dead," Hans said bluntly, "I will take your place and strive to be the best Chief of the Richartnal Knights."
