Chapter 191: Chapter 95: Mutual Jealousy

The two walked for several hours on the mountain road. Aske was alright, but Medea was beginning to feel the strain on her energy.

"Here," Aske passed something back to her.

"What?" asked Medea.

"Chocolate bar," Aske said, "to replenish some energy."

Medea tore open the wrapper and took a bite, feeling the sweetness and creaminess spread through her mouth.

"Do you want some?" She offered the half-eaten chocolate bar to Aske’s lips.

"No need..." Aske barely opened his mouth when Medea quickly shoved the chocolate bar in.

After swallowing the chocolate in a few bites, Aske looked at her expressionlessly.

Medea, on the other hand, displayed a mischievous smile like a successful prankster, akin to a sly fox.

"We’ve arrived," Aske suddenly said after another few minutes of walking.

"Arrived where?" Medea asked.

"This is where we first encountered the Snow Monster," Aske explained.

Medea looked carefully. Although the snow had covered the surrounding traces, this was indeed where they had first encountered the Snow Monster.

She even noticed a flattened area by the roadside, where Sigrdrifa had been doing sit-ups; now, it was sealed by the heavy snow.

"Let’s keep moving," Aske said, "Maybe they are waiting for us at the spot where we fell off the cliff."

"Are you sure?" Medea asked.

"If Nora and Eleanor are leading the group, they would definitely tell everyone not to run around but to wait at the spot," Aske asserted.

As soon as he finished speaking, a figure appeared around the bend ahead.

Recognizing the two faces, the figure surged forward, closing the twenty-meter distance in an instant and throwing herself into Aske’s arms.

"Aske!" Peggy exclaimed in surprise, burying her head in his Lock Armor.

"Peggy?" Aske was somewhat embarrassed. He had just told Medea that everyone was supposed to be waiting, and now Peggy’s appearance proved him wrong.

Medea read his thoughts and almost wanted to laugh. However, seeing the affectionate expression that Peggy was showing, she felt a subtle annoyance.

"How come you’re here?" Aske coughed and asked Peggy, "Didn’t Nora tell everyone to wait?"

"Yes," Peggy let go of him and nodded, "But I didn’t want to listen to them and sneaked out."

Aske: .......

"Take us to them," Aske said.

So Peggy joined the two, and they moved forward together. Medea remained silent, clicking her tongue in displeasure.

Tch, there goes our duo.

"Aske, what happened to your face?" Peggy suddenly noticed the burns and sores on his face.

"Just a minor injury, it’s nothing," Aske said nonchalantly.

"It looks like a burn, oh dear." Peggy said pretentiously, "The person who did this must be really heartless, to damage such a handsome face..."

"Fortunately, our esteemed Squad Leader is not bothered by such a trifling injury," Medea said coldly, "She risked her life to dash down the mountain to save her, didn’t she?"

Peggy’s eyelids twitched, and she glared fiercely at Medea.

The latter responded with a playful and ambiguous smile.

"Both of you shut up," Aske said impatiently.

The two girls fell silent, but in the Mind Channel that Aske couldn’t hear, a new round of sparring unfolded.

"I mean, what’s with this jealousy?" Medea asked in the Mind Communication, "Can’t stand it that he came out to save me?"

"Aske simply wants to rescue someone," Peggy retorted strongly, "Whether it’s you or someone else falling off the mountain is irrelevant."

Medea immediately thought of the memories she read from Aske’s mind, and her annoyance flared, she scoffed:

"Oh, but that’s not what his heart says."

"You!" Peggy almost couldn’t maintain her composure. She knew that Medea had mind reading ability and immediately burst out in anger,

"This is impossible! How could he fall for you... I was here first!"

"It doesn’t matter who came first," Medea said leisurely, "Men, don’t they all like women with big chests, long legs, and slim waists? And look at your little buds, how long will it take before they develop? Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot that as a Flesh Sequence vampire, you have probably stopped developing, right?"

"You’re talking nonsense!" Peggy gritted her teeth with hatred, "As soon as I enter Flesh II, I’ll be able to freely change my body shape! By then, my figure will be a million times better than yours!"

"Are you talking about getting breast implants?" Medea asked on purpose.

"That’s called growing breasts!" Peggy shouted.

"Using supernatural means and still saying it’s not breast augmentation? What’s the difference from surgery?" Medea laughed heartily.

"You!" Peggy stamped her foot with force.

"Hey! You two!" Aske frowned and said, "Stop having private chats and arguing!"

The two girls immediately showed sheepish expressions as if they had been caught red-handed like thieves.

After walking for tens of minutes, the two girls could only glare at each other with sparks flying from their eyes, which profoundly irritated Aske. He could only pick up a snowball from the ground and smash it into the faces of both girls.

This act, however, triggered another battle, as the two girls followed Aske’s pace while starting a snowball fight with each other.

In terms of physical prowess, Medea was no match for Peggy.

However, Medea cleverly used her Desire Ability to interfere with Peggy’s tactics and movements, making her unable to launch attacks or evade calmly.

Amid the flurry of snowballs, Aske sighed and continued to move forward.

Finally, when they arrived at the designated location, they saw the remaining girls squatting at the site of the avalanche, boredly making seven or eight snowmen of various sizes.

Sigrdrifa came walking over with a giant snowball in her hands.

"Aske!" she called out excitedly, tossed the snowball aside, and then ran over excitedly.

The other girls immediately stood up, showing their excitement.

At the time of the avalanche, in addition to the girls who had taken cover under the rocks on the outer slope, the surviving Steel Cross mercenaries had hidden under a dead angle at the bottom of the inner cliffside.

Although they were not washed away by the avalanche, they were undoubtedly buried alive by the massive amount of snow.

After the avalanche was over, while the girls were waiting on the spot, they also rendered aid, digging out Andrea, Herman, and other surviving Steel Cross mercenaries and Sparta guides from beneath the snow.

Herman and the others repeatedly expressed their gratitude, but Andrea was so moved and ashamed that she couldn’t speak.

After re-counting their personnel, the Steel Cross mercenaries decided to continue on with the Sparta guide to find the Snow Monsters to exact their revenge.

Andrea even proposed before leaving, offering a super high price of "380 marks" to buy the Spiritual Material that The Azure Longsword had collected.

However, this clearly compensatory and gratitude-based transaction was declined by the girls, arguing that the Squad Leader was not here, and they could not make decisions about trading on their own.

Therefore, the Steel Cross mercenaries had to say goodbye to the girls and asked them to guide the direction of the Steel Cross if they encountered any mercenaries who had survived the avalanche and rushed back from the mountain, so those mercenaries could gather with the rest.

After waiting on the spot for several hours and encountering more than a dozen groups of Iron Cross mercenaries who had regrouped after being scattered by the avalanche, the girls from The Azure Longsword began to grow restless.

Feeling as if they had lost their pillar, they did not know what to do next.

Nora, Eleanor, and Thira advocated waiting on the spot, as if the Squad Leader were still alive, he would surely return here to find them.

Peggy expressed strong disapproval of this sentiment. Psh, what do you mean "if the Squad Leader is still alive"? Of course, the Squad Leader is alive, okay?

She, Mia, and Miel, thought they should follow the mountain road they came in on down to the valley floor and actively search for traces of the Squad Leader.

Sigrdrifa suggested they could use the trees nearby to make skis and slide down the original path of the avalanche to look for Aske and Medea.

This wildly inventive and dangerous method was, as expected, ignored by everyone else.

So, after several rounds of voting, Sigrdrifa decided to listen to Eleanor and the others.

to 3, Mia and Miel accepted the defeat, but Peggy exclaimed excitedly, "I won’t listen to anyone, I will only listen to Aske."

She then rushed out quickly, so fast that even Mia didn’t manage to grab her.

Aske listened silently to the account of what had transpired, then gave Peggy an unreserved karate chop.

"Don’t be willful in the future, okay? Follow the team’s decision."

"But!" Peggy protested, "What if the team’s decision is wrong?"

"No one can guarantee the decision won’t be wrong," Aske said leisurely, "But acting rashly and separating from the team is definitely the wrong move, understand?"
