Revive Rome: Wait! Why not make the empress fall in love with me first? -

Chapter 170: Chapter 74: Space-Based Attack
However, the celebration did not last long.
To be exact, it did not even last half a minute before the clergy present quickly embarked on the tense post-op work.
Some continued to maintain more data entries, while others swiftly coordinated with Raphael to begin restoring control over the world as planned.
"Holy See, DX73415 signal, we’ve made contact with Michael!"
"Recall," Pope Innocent said indifferently.
At a position 67,000 kilometers from the Helel planet, at the Earth-Moon Lagrange Point, a large space station quietly hovered in space.
"Michael" Armed Experimental Space Station.
At this remote spot, the planet’s magnetic field could almost be neglected, hence the Michael was not affected by the rising Magic Tide.
Thus, before the Magic Tide began to rise, all satellites had been collected and brought to the Lagrange Point for refuge by the Michael.
As soon as a specific signal from the planet arrived, the dormant Michael activated its propulsion engines and returned towards Helel planet.
About 2 hours later, Michael had reached the planetary synchronous orbit.
In Innocent’s words, it meant "God’s will is revisited upon the world".
Then, Michael began deploying numerous military surveillance satellites "All-Sight" and communication satellites "Malak," starting to array around the Helel planet.
"Holy See! The surface has been remapped; currently, within the Western Continent Catholic territories, there are 174 cities in crisis due to rampages by Extraordinary Creatures, with 36 being of the high-risk Keter class, detailed distribution as follows," a bishop strode over, handing the documents to Innocent.
"It’s fewer than we anticipated," Innocent said, nodding his head as he stared at the global distribution map, "Yes, the efficiency of Dragon Country is as high as ever; they have already resolved all the Extraordinary Creature rampages."
The cardinals emotionally concurred, knowing that the Far East’s Dragon Country was a cohesive empire, where the Emperor’s will could reach every corner, naturally making it many times more efficient than the Church Court.
"Let’s just do the part that concerns us," Innocent sighed slowly, "Next, carry out precision neutron bomb surgical strikes on the 36 high-risk cities within the Western Continent Catholic territories."
"City Lord of Olympia has reached an agreement with me personally, to add that Leviathan to the list for surgical strikes as well."
Olympia City.
Around nearly three o’clock in the morning, the rampage of Leviathan in Thessalonica was nearing its end.
To be precise, Thessalonica had already transformed into ruins, resembling a city of blocks pushed over by a naughty child, leaving nothing but debris and disarray.
In the shroud of night, Leviathan issued a long cry that resonated far and wide into the heavens.
As if still hungry, it cast its longing gaze towards the distant Eden Tree.
For it, human cities were merely appetizers.
The real feast was naturally the Extraordinary Creature, the Eden Tree. It was born there because its mother chose the location near the Eden Tree, which could replenish all its Extraordinary Powers needed to grow to adulthood.
Hence, Leviathan abandoned the ruins of Thessalonica, slowly crawling toward the direction of Olympia.
Its breath brought with it great gusts of wind and vapor, making the people atop the tree feel the intermittently shifting south and north winds, mixed with drizzles and the distinct salty smell of the sea.
A sight so compelling that any human beholding it couldn’t help but feel an involuntary sense of despair.
The Arcane Mages’ thunder and flames shot first, though the magic accuracy greatly deteriorated over the long and vast distance, yet due to Leviathan’s immense size, eight or nine out of ten spells didn’t miss at all.
These spells, which were enough to paralyze and kill a knight, exploded like fireworks on the gray-blue tough skin of the Leviathan.
The Leviathan continued at the pace of a crawling turtle and seemed not to even feel that it was being attacked.
Despite its slow movements, its vast size and the distance it covered made it visibly approach Olympia at a noticeable pace.
Aske looked at the City Lord in surprise if he had any tricks up his sleeve, now would be the time to use them.
Surely he wouldn’t wait until the enemy actually climbed up the mountain to play his big move? Aren’t you afraid your big move will impact Olympia City? Wait a second... What if that’s the plan...
He suddenly remembered an event from his previous life, at this point in time, he was still grinding in Sparta City State when he suddenly got disconnected.
He couldn’t log back on at all, and when he checked the forums, he learned that the Church Court was setting off huge fireworks, causing the players in the forum to blow up; those who hadn’t logged on rushed online to watch the fireworks...
These fireworks were what they called sky-based neutron bombs, a type of nuclear weapon similar to a hydrogen bomb but with smaller shockwaves and less radiation.
Could it be? He immediately looked toward Apilius, had he really made an agreement with the Church Court to use a neutron bomb to deal with this Leviathan?
As if confirming his suspicion, Apilius activated the "Voice of Spirit" and said,
"All ’Storm’ Sequence Mages, gather at the front line projection area!"
His voice was not loud, but it sounded clearly and distinctly in everyone’s ears, as if speaking directly to their souls.
Quickly, all the Storm Sequence Arcane Mages stepped forward, awaiting the City Lord’s instructions.
"Follow my command! Once the order is given, everyone immediately close your eyes, and all the Storm Sequence Mages release their power to the north!" Apilius’s next command left everyone even more perplexed.
However, almost all the Arcane Mages present were public officials, sharing in the glory and the potential damage with the City of Olympia, so they cooperatively awaited the command, ready to unleash the Storm Technique.
Suddenly, a beam of light shimmered in the night sky as if God had drawn out thunder from the heavens, the momentary dazzling radiance illuminating the entire night sky.
"Close your eyes!" Apilius shouted.
Everyone in the vicinity quickly shut their eyes as the Storm Sequence mages all simultaneously unleashed their power forward. Together, they created a storm so powerful that it completely overshadowed the breath blows of the Leviathan.
Aske was probably the last one in the assembly to close his eyes... The moment he shut his eyelids, he had already seen what that beam of light was.
It was a massive ballistic missile, trailing engine flames, hurtling down from outer space toward the planet’s surface.
From the All-Sight Eye surveillance satellite in space, one could clearly see a mushroom cloud suddenly exploding on the northwest coast of the Aegean Sea, a scorching cloud of flames rising into the stratosphere.
After a while, the shockwave reached Olympia City but was blocked by the storms released by the united Arcane Mages, preventing the radiative dust-filled shockwave from entering Olympia City.
Directly below the nuclear explosion, the intense high-temperature shockwave tore open the thick skin on the back of the Leviathan; what was even more lethal was the high-energy neutron stream, which rapidly poured into its flesh, instantly causing necrosis in the bones, muscles, and connective tissue cells due to genetic collapse.
This suddenly grievously injured Leviathan cried out in pain to the sky, its underdeveloped juvenile intelligence unable to understand where the attack had come from, its huge eyes still bleeding as it stared blankly at the empty sky.
Then it saw clearly the source of the attack—another beam of light flashed in the night sky.
A second neutron bomb hurtled down, exploding right above its head with a somewhat smaller yield.
The unbearably high temperature, the shockwave, and some kind of uncomfortable invisible radiation hit again, causing its hard outer skin to start turning black and rot. The Leviathan struggled to turn around, trying to return to the cool seawater that could protect it, in hopes of cooling down its nearly burning back.
After crawling several hundred meters, a kind of dizziness gradually overwhelmed its consciousness—due to the overly severe injuries far surpassing its self-healing ability, most of the spinal nerves in the Leviathan also necrotized, preventing it from continuing to control the rest of its body.
Finally, this Leviathan laid its head down on the moist ground and died.
