Revive Rome: Wait! Why not make the empress fall in love with me first?

Chapter 107: Chapter 12 Planning the Final Assault

"Alright!" Nora cheerfully exclaimed, "Everyone, say cheers with me!"

(Cheers, a foreign equivalent of "eggplant," pronounced and gestured with a smile similar to the word itself)

"Cheers!" they all said with beaming smiles at the table laden with magic potions, formulas, and spiritual materials.

Click! Nora snapped the photo.

"Okay, okay," Aske waved his hand and said, "Those who need to drink magic potions, go and drink; those who need to collect materials, go collect!"

The biggest winners in the trade with the Night Watchman organization this time were Eleanor and Miel.

The former obtained the "Tenacity I" and "Will I" magic potions, while the latter got the "Visual I" and "Intuition I" magic potions, meaning that both could steadily advance to level 4 and level 3, respectively; it was simply a matter of time.

Next were Nora and Medea. The former obtained three types of materials required for "Spirit Body I" and was now just short of benzylamine.

As an industrial product, this would have to be bought in the industrial districts on the outskirts of the city, which wasn’t too difficult.

The latter’s "Conspiracy I" still lacked two materials: ink from an Architeuthis and serotonin.

Lastly, there were Peggy and Sigrdrifa, each obtaining the formulas for "Plague I" and "Ancient X," respectively. Although the Night Watchman didn’t have the corresponding materials, these two magic potion sequences were quite niche, and it was uncertain how much effort it would take to purchase them elsewhere.

Thus, they could also be considered to have returned fully loaded, their gains comparable to the last time they plundered the Constantinople Arena... if one disregarded the cost of 3100 pounds.

"Should I first take ’Will I’? Or ’Tenacity I’?" Eleanor sought Aske’s advice on which potion to consume next.

"Don’t get hung up on the word ’should,’" Aske said with a smile, "Let me briefly talk about the effects of the two potions."

"The Tenacity Sequence is a powerful passive enhancement. It will increase your resistance to damage, whether physical or caused by extraordinary power."

"Your body will be harder to injure, wounds will heal more quickly. Also, you’ll be less prone to illness, poisoning, aging, and any negative state will have a shorter duration on you, such as stiffness, dizziness, stagger, paralysis, and more."

"Now for the Will Sequence. This is the main sequence for your ’Crusader War’ bloodline and is also a type of Mind Sequence."

"A person’s Mind Body can be divided into the Self, the Ego, and the Super Self. Among these, the Ego in the body, which is the ’Desire’ sequence controlled by Medea, and the Super Self in the thoughts, is the ’Will’ sequence."

"Will I will make your spiritual will steadfast, greatly enhancing your ability to focus. When you are fully concentrated, you may even feel like time is slowing down."

"Your spirituality will grow stronger, and you’ll notice more details in combat. You’ll be able to perform more delicate actions, which is extremely beneficial for learning higher-ranked techniques."

"In other words," Eleanor pondered for a long while before saying, "Tenacity will fortify my body, while Will strengthens my mind."

"Pretty much," Aske replied, "From the standpoint of extraordinary power, Tenacity indeed accelerates the conversion to Physical Power, while Will promotes the increase of Spiritual Power."

"I choose the Will Sequence," Eleanor decided, "If I were fighting alone, the Tenacity Sequence would indeed reinforce my survivability. However, I am part of this team, and the Will Sequence will aid more in my ability advancement and be of greater help to the whole team."

"Good that you’ve made a decision," Aske said, his tone heavy with meaning.

And so, Eleanor went to take her potion. Next came Miel, her sweet, childish face eagerly looking up at him, like a kitten.

"Do you also want to ask about the order to take your magic potions?" Aske leaned down and patted her head.

"Mhm," Miel hugged his hand resting atop her head.

"The Visual Sequence will enhance your dynamic vision, enabling you to see high-speed moving objects or those farther away more clearly."

"The Intuition Sequence, on the other hand, will grant you a perception of danger, even if you don’t actually see anything; you’ll still be able to ’see’ the arrival of danger at critical moments."

"To put it metaphorically, Visual I intensifies your naked eye, while Intuition I gives you an extra pair of ’Heart Eyes’, understand?"

"I choose Intuition," Miel declared, "My vision is already not bad."

"Then off you go," Aske said, "Have your sister Nora watch over you, and don’t lose control."

"Okay," Miel said obediently.

......

The Azure Longsword Mercenary Corps was about to welcome two new freshly promoted members.

Meanwhile, the Night Watchmen were also researching this undead mutant incident.

All the Black Knights who had been killed, whose belongings could serve as clues, were now displayed before the eyes of the upper echelons.

"It has been confirmed that these Black Knights were the King’s Friends, knights of Alexander the Great from the end of the Second Epoch," Phibes explained to those present.

"Based on the Power Armor style, it indeed dates back to the Second Epoch military armor popular on the Sirius Peninsula, as it used linen padding inside the exoskeleton for shock absorption."

"The Ancient Solomon Republic of the Third Epoch improved the exoskeleton structure, and since then, mainstream Power Armor no longer featured such padding."

"Another corroboration comes from the weapons," Phibes picked up a weapon from the table, "The Xiphos Sword, 3D printed with high-molecular-weight carbon fiber. Currently, only the Church Court still maintains the production technology for this material, and they definitely wouldn’t use it for weapons; it’s far too luxurious."

"Lastly, there’s the testimony shared by several squadron knights: the Black Knights wielded some bizarre extraordinary ability which allowed them to create an illusion that launched an attack with the same force as the original when swinging their weapons."
