Returning to Dominate The World With My Knowledge System -
Chapter 76: Specialised Knowledge Transfer 3/3
Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Specialised Knowledge Transfer 3/3
Dinner was very enjoyable for Tyler. He chatted casually with his staffs as they ate. They asked him when they were going to resume work and he told them soon.
Their question actually reminded him about his plan to expand the fabrication plant. According to his plan, after he had created Freya, he would purchase the necessary specialised knowledge and have her get started on researching for a cure.
This also meant that he would need to build a much bigger plant, as he would definitely need to build more equipments in the future.
The fabrication plant and the number of staffs was too small to handle the future level of production.
Yes, he might need to automate things but those automated equipments would need to be built from scratch, as there’s no way he would be able purchase them from any manufacturing company. It was impossible.
Tyler sighed internally when he thought about this. He decided to ask David to buy more of the lands around the fab and get ready to start working on them.
Done with his meal, Tyler stood up and David did the same. The two of them walked to the elevator.
Stepping into the elevator, Tyler turned to David and asked with a solemn voice, "So, what is it?"
"Huh?" David turned to him in surprise.
"You still have that same troubled look on your face. Which means that something’s definitely wrong and it’s serious," Tyler said, and asked, "So, what is it?"
David closed his eyes and sighed heavily when he heard Tyler’s words. He wanted to keep it to himself and find a solution, but he knew that he can no longer hide it from him. He has to let him know.
"It’s them," he said, in heavy voice.
"Them?" Tyler frowned.
"Them as in them?" He asked in confirmation.
"Yeah."
"What do they want?" He asked, with a deep frown.
David was slightly for a few seconds, before sighing and giving a reply.
"They are asking for more incentives."
"Asking for more incentives?" Tyler blinked in surprise.
Not that he didn’t expect it but hearing it was different.
According to his knowledge, over the past two months, Tyler has given Gumua’s government officials more than $2M in incentives.
That amount converted to the country’s currency was over 17.2 billion Ria.
In Gumua’s economic context, that was staggering. The annual budget of the national health agency barely crossed 9 billion Ria, and Tyler had already handed out almost twice that to a handful of ministries.
Gumua’s GDP was only $32.6 billion. Their entire economy was about the size of a mid-tier U.S. city. The national revenue intake for the past fiscal year was under $3 billion, and more than 40% of it came from foreign aid and concessional loans.
This means that Tyler was literally outpaying foreign governments by himself.
Most ministers barely earned $10,000 a year on paper. Though they embezzle government funds and use it to enrich themselves. But how much can they embezzle and still get away with it?
Tyler coming into the country VaultPay, gave these officials a better and safer way to launder the money they embezzle. And he was still paying them for using his services.
Now that he thought about it, he realised how messed up the whole situation was. But it couldn’t be helped. If he hadn’t added the incentives, it would had been harder to launch VaultPay in the country.
Tyler couldn’t help but sigh when he thought about this.
"Fuck those dirty bastards," he muttered.
"Did they threatened you or anything?" Tyler asked.
"They said and something about us increasing their monthly incentives if we want to continue doing more business in the country. It’s probably related to front agritech company we set up. They also said something about giving them shares before the company goes public," David replied.
Tyler blinked twice when he heard this and he nearly burst into laughter.
"Give them shares? What level of delulu is that? Increase their incentives my ass. They can go to hell for all I care," Tyler scoffed.
He looked at David who still looked worried, and patted his shoulder reassuringly.
"Don’t think too much about it. They can make whatever threat they want to make, but they won’t do anything. They are all dogs without teeth," he said, trying to calm him.
"But what if they actually go ahead to make do on their threats?" David asked, obviously still concerned.
"Then, we will pull out. Don’t worry Dave, we are the one with the advantage here. They are just trying to test the waters, pushing to see how easily we can break," Tyler said.
David sighed and finally calmed down, when he heard what Tyler said. He couldn’t but look at Tyler in a different light.
He knew that the kid was smart and different from the rest, but he just keeps surprising him every time.
Naturally under normal circumstances, he shouldn’t be concerned by the threats but he understood just how vulnerable Tyler was, and he was sure that the kid knew this too.
David was right. Tyler knew this and he was already making preparations. Since they are threatening him, then he will take them out.
Even without the threat, he already had the thought to put the government under his complete control. With his plans for the future, he will need it full backing and the only way to do was to have it under his control.
"After I’m done with the whole knowledge transfer, I will get started on that," he thought to himself.
The elevator stopped at the penthouse floor and the two of them stepped out of it. Tyler made his way to his room and David to his.
Walking into his room, Tyler walked to the workstation and took his seat.
{Master, how was your dinner?}
"Huh? You knew I went to have dinner?" Tyler asked in surprise.
{Yes, I hacked into the hotel’s surveillance system.}
"I see...you can already do that... I guess you had time on your hands as you’re done with the browser."
Tyler could see a new icon on his desktop home screen and it was none other than that of the browser.
{Yes, I finished it just as you were walking into the cafeteria.}
"Wow. That fast? Let me see then," he said.
Immediately, Freya launched the software and Tyler started the testing process.
Few minutes later, he nodded in approval, with an impressed look on his face.
The browser was way better than current browsers and even far ahead than browser in his previous life.
"Nicely done, Freya. This is perfect."
{Thanks, master.}
"I want you to start working on the OS and the IDE. Improve them and make them better. We will continue the knowledge transfer process tomorrow," Tyler said.
{Yes, master. I will be done with them before you wake up.}
"No problem but don’t rush yourself," Tyler said, as he stood up from the chair and climbed into his bed.
He picked up his phone to call home. The call was picked on the first mom’s worried and happy voice filled his ears.
"Tyler! Are you okay? Why haven’t you called?" his mom’s voice came through, fast and tight with concern.
Tyler felt a stab of guilt as he heard her voice.
"I’m fine, Mom. I’ve just been... busy. Really, really busy."
There was a pause on the other end, and then a softer sigh.
"You always say that. But you’re still just a teenager. You can’t keep pushing yourself like this."
Tyler smiled faintly. "I know. I’ll do better. I promise. How’s everyone doing? How’s Devin and how is he doing at school?"
"He’s fine. He just misses you. He’s at school right now and if it wasn’t because he’s not on holiday, he would had come over."
"I miss him too. I miss you. I miss both of you. Tell him that if he does well in his exam, I will get him something nice," Tyler said.
"Only if you promise to actually come back and not just say it like last time," she replied, her tone teasing but with a thread of worry.
"I will. I swear. I just need a little more time. Things are... almost where I need them to be."
"Okay, baby. Just don’t burn yourself out. You always take on too much."
"I’m okay. And thanks, Mom. Just hearing your voice helps."
She chuckled softly. "Go to bed, Tyler. You sound like you haven’t slept in days."
He nodded, though she couldn’t see it. "Good night, Mom. Tell Devin I love him."
"I will. Good night, sweetheart."
The call ended, and Tyler placed the phone on his bedside table, and sighed.
So many things had changed in his life so fast—but some things, like a mother’s concern, always stayed the same.
Feeling lighter, Tyler turned off the bedside light and let sleep take him.
Freya’s soft mechanical voice echoed faintly in the darkness.
{Good night, master.}
"Good night, Freya."
