"Get some rest." Song Xiaodong gently said, before lying down next to Wu Xiaoya.

Wu Xiaoya softly replied and closed her eyes. Not long after, she drifted into a drowsy sleep.

The next morning when Wu Xiaoya woke up, she was startled to find herself hugging Song Xiaodong. She pulled away quickly, casting a glance to his side.

Where Miao Qingqing and Miao Xuanxuan should have been lying, there was no trace of them. This meant that the two had undoubtedly seen her clinging to Song Xiaodong.

Wu Xiaoya’s forehead broke out in sweat. This was bad—surely Miao Qingqing and Miao Xuanxuan would overthink the situation. How on earth would she explain this to them?

"Awake? Hmm, your fever’s gone. How are you feeling now?" Song Xiaodong extended a hand to touch her forehead lightly, then sat upright.

"Ah... uh..." Wu Xiaoya sat up as well, quickly glancing toward the cave entrance. Lowering her voice, she said, "I... I was holding on to you just now. Qingqing and Xuanxuan must have seen it! How am I supposed to explain that?"

Song Xiaodong smiled faintly and replied, "No need to explain. You were sick. They wanted you to sleep a bit longer, which is why they didn’t let me move."

"They didn’t let you move?" Wu Xiaoya’s eyes widened in disbelief, written all over her face.

"Exactly. So, don’t overthink it. Now I’m heading out to gather some food for us." With that, Song Xiaodong stood up and walked out of the cave.

Wu Xiaoya hesitated, not daring to step outside and face Miao Qingqing and Miao Xuanxuan, but the two of them had already come inside.

"Qingqing, Xuanxuan... I..." Wu Xiaoya’s expression immediately grew awkward. She wanted to explain but had no idea where to start. No matter how many justifications she could come up with, it didn’t change the fact that she had been hugging someone else’s husband.

Miao Xuanxuan chuckled and said, "It’s no big deal. You hugged our husband, so technically, he took advantage of you. Since he benefited, I guess we kind of benefited too."

Wu Xiaoya’s eyes widened in shock. She stared at Miao Xuanxuan as if she were a creature from another world.

Miao Qingqing shot Miao Xuanxuan a playful glare and said, "Xiaoya, you’re sick right now. Taking care of each other is only natural. It’s not the same as usual circumstances, so we won’t overthink it. Don’t let it weigh on your mind. Among the four of us, Dongzi is the only man, so it’s his responsibility to take care of us three women."

Wu Xiaoya looked at them gratefully and said, "Thank you... I was really afraid you’d scold me."

Miao Xuanxuan laughed. "We’re not that petty. Besides, you’re a beauty. If our husband profits from it, we’re okay with it. If you weren’t attractive, now that would make us feel uncomfortable."

Wu Xiaoya’s face darkened as she said, "Xuanxuan, your way of thinking... ugh."

Miao Xuanxuan giggled. "It’s just normal logic. Anyway, you seem much better today. Looks like our husband really did a great job taking care of you."

As they chatted and laughed, Wu Xiaoya gradually relaxed. A while later, Song Xiaodong returned with some fruit and a bit of water.

After they finished eating, Song Xiaodong said, "I’ll take you all down the mountain to wash up. The conditions aren’t ideal, but keeping clean is good for your health."

Miao Qingqing and Miao Xuanxuan cheered enthusiastically. For girls as scrupulous about cleanliness as they were, going days without a bath had been torturous.

But Wu Xiaoya couldn’t help blushing. To her, his suggestion seemed a bit... sensitive in a way.

Following the stream down the mountain, they eventually came across a small pool of water. The pool was only about two or three meters in diameter and less than a meter deep, but the water was incredibly clear. The bottom was covered in fine sand, and there were even some small fish swimming about.

Seeing the pool, Miao Qingqing and Miao Xuanxuan grew even more excited. Without a second thought, they began taking off their clothes.

Song Xiaodong cleared his throat and said, "You all wash up first. I’ll check the surroundings to make sure no one’s lurking around to peek."

"Go on, go on. Anyway, you’re our husband. If some other man sees us, it’s you who’d suffer the loss." Miao Xuanxuan laughed lightly as she stripped down and jumped into the water.

Song Xiaodong was tempted to glance back, and even more tempted to join them, but with Wu Xiaoya present, he suppressed the urge. Still, the thought left him restless. In this situation, Wu Xiaoya felt like an unnecessary addition.

Song Xiaodong hadn’t gone far when the unmistakable roar of helicopter blades filled the air. Instantly, he was overjoyed.

Meanwhile, Miao Qingqing and Miao Xuanxuan were already shrieking excitedly by the pool, calling out loudly for Song Xiaodong to come over.

Song Xiaodong hurried back, only to see Miao Qingqing and Miao Xuanxuan standing in the water and pointing at the sky, shouting, "Husband, husband! A helicopter! Someone’s come to rescue us!"

Realizing this, Wu Xiaoya pushed aside her embarrassment, rushed to the shore, and hastily pulled on her clothes.

The group rushed to the beach, where the helicopter had already landed. Li Fangding and the others were shouting in exhilaration.

But when Li Fangding turned toward Song Xiaodong and the others, a cold glint flickered in his eyes.

Song Xiaodong caught the look and a faint smile played at his lips. Now that rescue had arrived, Li Fangding would likely take action to cover up his wrongdoings.
