Chapter 894: Chapter 895: Now I Have to Pay with My Body
"Uncle?" Ji Huan was even more confused.
Lin Shu chuckled lightly and said, "Oh, he’s a relative of mine."
"And he gave you a credit card to use?" Ji Huan was still dubious.
Lin Shu replied, "My uncle is very good to me, so he’s generous about spending money on me."
A typical credit card doesn’t usually have a very high limit—thirty thousand, fifty thousand at most. Even if you’re relatives, it’s unlikely someone would give you a high-limit card to use casually. I mean, if you maxed out tens of thousands, wouldn’t they cry their eyes out?
So Ji Huan still said, "Oh... but one credit card won’t cover much. I’ll buy for you instead."
Lin Shu replied, "Then we’ll wait until we’ve maxed out the limit before looking for you."
Ji Huan agreed to Lin Shu’s suggestion, realizing this was a nice way for them to grasp the difference between the wealthy and the average person.
"Here, here, these two dresses look great—perfectly fit you both and match your vibe," Ji Huan said. Say what you will, she had an eye for clothes. The dresses she picked for Zhong Chuling and Lin Shu were, indeed, stunning.
The two eagerly ran into the fitting rooms and emerged transformed. Ji Huan couldn’t help but take a good look, and internally, she felt a pang of irritation. These two girls usually seemed a little less impressive than her, but now, in these fancy dresses, they suddenly looked far more attractive.
Women—three parts natural beauty, seven parts dressing up. And Lin Shu and Zhong Chuling, with their already three "natural" portions, easily outshined others’ ten. Now, add in the boost from fine clothing, and that adds another level of elegance.
"Not bad, not bad!" Ji Huan pushed her jealousy away and declared, "So it’s settled—these two dresses!" She headed straight to the checkout.
Lin Shu quickly intercepted, saying, "We’ll pay for them ourselves—we’ll take care of it."
"Ah... you’re really buying them?" Zhong Chuling exclaimed in a hushed tone, tugging at Lin Shu. "These dresses cost twelve thousand each!"
Lin Shu’s mouth twitched as she said, "Buy them. I don’t want her to pay. If we spend her money and she asks us for a favor later, it’d be hard to refuse." You had to admit, Lin Shu was shrewd about this.
"But this is way too much money. What if uncle..."
"Who cares about uncle? At worst, I’ll let him feel me up a couple of times," Lin Shu declared brazenly, waving her hand and handing over the credit card.
However, both she and Zhong Chuling felt a bit uneasy, hoping the card’s limit hadn’t been maxed out.
Fortunately, their worries were unfounded. After entering the PIN, signing, and completing payment—all went smoothly.
Ji Huan then led them to check out shoes, makeup, and jewelry.
At first, Lin Shu and Zhong Chuling restrained themselves. But with Ji Huan urging them and offering to pay, plus the addictive thrill of shopping setting in—well, before they realized, the two were buying and swiping away impulsively.
Even Ji Huan was left speechless. The two had spent over a hundred thousand in total, yet somehow hadn’t maxed out the credit card. Not even a single notification call—whoever gave Lin Shu this card must have nerves of steel.
Still, Ji Huan couldn’t help but feel secretly pleased. The way these two were spending, they’d certainly be scolded by "uncle" afterward. And when they did, she could step in to help them out; once they owed her money, asking for a favor wouldn’t be so easy to decline.
So she doubled down, pushing even harder for them to spend.
"Let’s go, let’s check out Cartier. Their watches are really nice."
Cartier, one of the world’s top luxury watch brands—all their watches start at six figures.
The two, caught up in the shopping frenzy, followed along excitedly.
But once they saw the price tags, Zhong Chuling finally snapped out of her spree and exclaimed, "No way, no way—this stuff is way too pricey. We can’t afford it."
Lin Shu also regained her senses and quickly removed the watch she’d tried on, saying, "Whoa, that scared me—it’s ridiculously expensive."
Ji Huan chuckled, "No worries, I’ll buy it for you."
Lin Shu and Zhong Chuling adamantly refused, dragging Ji Huan out of the store.
The three ended up at a drink shop. While Ji Huan went to buy drinks, the other two quickly pulled out the receipts from their shopping escapades.
"Oh my god, we spent over 130,000!" Zhong Chuling’s face turned pale.
Lin Shu also looked distressed. "It felt like we didn’t swipe the card that many times—how did it add up to this much?"
"Everything here costs over ten thousand each," Zhong Chuling hesitated and suggested, "How about we secretly return some items later? Major department stores should allow returns, right?"
Lin Shu replied, "But if we try to return them, Ji Huan won’t agree and might insist on reimbursing us. I don’t want to owe her any favors."
Zhong Chuling looked on the verge of tears. "What should we do? We spent so much of uncle’s money when he’s already helped me so much—how am I supposed to face him now?"
"What’s there to fear? It’s my spending, so I’ll deal with him. But just letting him feel me up probably won’t cut it anymore—might have to pay with my flesh." At this, Lin Shu gave a wry smile.
"No way! Don’t talk nonsense! Uncle would never do that. How about... we call him and confess our mistake upfront?"
Lin Shu hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Okay, I’ll call him." She stepped aside to make the call privately—something like this was certainly better done away from prying ears.
Meanwhile, as Ji Huan was ordering drinks, she slyly glanced over at Lin Shu and Zhong Chuling. Seeing them fret over their receipts and their panicked expressions, Ji Huan couldn’t help but smirk. Now they knew they were in trouble—they’d come begging soon.
Lin Shu nervously dialed Song Xiaodong’s number, softly calling, "Uncle..."
Song Xiaodong quickly responded, "Hmm? Why does your voice sound so gentle? What’s wrong?"
"I... we got carried away and spent a lot of money on the credit card you gave us."
"Really? How much did you spend? I didn’t check my messages."
"Over 130,000..." Lin Shu cautiously reported the number, bracing for an earful.
"Make sure you also buy stuff for Xiao Ling," Song Xiaodong casually remarked.
"Huh?" Lin Shu was stunned. "You’re not mad at me?"
"Why would I be angry? If you like it, buy it. Just don’t go overboard with the luxury goods—if you can’t afford them later, you might resort to less-than-ideal solutions."
"I’d never be that foolish. Having a rich guy like you around to squeeze is more than enough. Hey, don’t get any ideas—this is payback for taking advantage of me all those times before. Spending your money is just settling the score."
Song Xiaodong laughed loudly, "Thank you, oh mighty heroine, for showing mercy and not bleeding me dry."
