Chapter 586: Chapter 587 What is going on
"Brother-in-law, do you have a certain thought?" Miao Xuanxuan lifted her head a little and asked Song Xiaodong with a grin.
"What thought?" Song Xiaodong inquired.
Miao Xuanxuan winked at Song Xiaodong and said, "Don’t you wish you were the one sleeping in the middle right now?"
Miao Qingqing turned her head to look at Song Xiaodong, her eyes obviously filled with a killing aura.
Song Xiaodong immediately coughed and said, "I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare. How could I harbor such thoughts?"
Miao Qingqing immediately glared and said, "So you wouldn’t dare, but you still wish for it?"
Song Xiaodong felt a pinch on his abdomen and hastily said, "I misspoke, I didn’t mean I wouldn’t dare—I meant I hadn’t thought about it at all."
Miao Xuanxuan laughed and said, "Brother-in-law, that’s so against your heart, isn’t it? Today, when you were with the little aunts, you looked quite content, and now you say you hadn’t thought about it?"
Miao Qingqing pinched him harder, which made Song Xiaodong offer a bitter smile. Miao Xuanxuan was such a little devil, clearly intent on framing him. He could only offer a wry smile and say, "My dear niece, please spare me. I admit, when you two are by my side, I indeed feel quite fantastic, but as a man, I don’t think there’s one who wouldn’t feel that way. The real deal, however, is not about what one thinks, but whether one can control their emotions—that’s what’s most important, right?"
Miao Xuanxuan immediately giggled and said, "Brother-in-law, I quite like hearing those words. That’s much more honest."
Song Xiaodong said with a pained expression, "You little niece, you ask for my help and then turn around and torment me. I am truly bewildered by you."
Miao Xuanxuan burst into joyful laughter, the spitting image of a naughty younger sister teasing her brother-in-law.
Miao Qingqing wasn’t really angry; she knew Miao Xuanxuan was just playing with Song Xiaodong. She released Song Xiaodong and turned to Miao Xuanxuan with a huff, saying, "You cheeky girl, you have the nerve to talk? I saw how much you were enjoying sitting on your brother-in-law’s lap today."
Miao Xuanxuan, not at all intimidated, retorted, "Sis, didn’t you find brother-in-law really handsome at that moment? He was incredibly dashing. I really felt like even if both of us ended up with him, it wouldn’t be so bad."
Miao Qingqing’s lips twitched, and she spoke with a hint of panic, "Xuanxuan, you’re not serious, are you?"
Miao Xuanxuan blinked and said, "What do you think? Otherwise, you can dump brother-in-law and let me have him."
"Hmph, what’s so good about him that you want him? Take him if you want him."
Miao Xuanxuan giggled and said, "I certainly don’t want that. You’ve worn him out already; I don’t want your leftovers."
Song Xiaodong immediately interjected, "Xuanxuan, those words I don’t appreciate. What do you mean ’worn out’?"
Miao Xuanxuan laughed and said, "I’m not wrong. You’ve been with my sister for so long, you’re no longer a novelty. Of course, you’re worn out. I definitely don’t want someone like that."
Miao Qingqing’s face reddened, and she spat, "Really, you can’t expect anything nice to come out of a dog’s mouth. Just go to sleep properly."
"Sleep, sleep. I won’t fuss with you two anymore." Miao Xuanxuan settled back onto her pillow, hugged Miao Qingqing’s arm tightly, and after a while, said, "It’s been so long since I’ve slept in the same bed with you."
Miao Qingqing’s heart softened a bit and she said, "In the future, if you want, you can always come sleep with me."
Miao Xuanxuan, with her eyes closed, said, "You’ve got a man now, you don’t need me anymore."
Miao Qingqing spoke softly, "She is still your sister, and you are my little sister as well. Men can be replaced, but a sister is irreplaceable for life."
"Hehe, I’ll remember what you said," Miao Xuanxuan replied with a mischievous smile before closing her eyes again.
No one spoke after that, but a warm atmosphere filled the air. The affection between sisters is often overlooked, yet when it truly resonates, it brings immense warmth.
Lying in bed with her sister, Song Xiaodong found it hard to fall asleep so easily, her mind wandering into forbidden thoughts. Feeling Song Xiaodong’s reaction, Miao Qingqing pinched her, certainly not allowing any mischief. Song Xiaodong often behaved like this when they were together, so Miao Qingqing didn’t think much of it.
It took a long while before Song Xiaodong finally drifted into a drowsy sleep. She dreamt she was lying on a big bed, embraced on both sides by Miao Qingqing and Miao Xuanxuan, with both of them entwined around her. Her hands were not idle either; she was thoroughly enjoying herself.
The dream seemed to last a long time until she woke up, yet the sensation of the dream didn’t seem to have left her.
Wait a minute! This isn’t a dream!
Song Xiaodong suddenly snapped back to her senses. With the morning light seeping through the gaps in the curtains, she realized she was indeed sleeping in the middle, with both Miao Qingqing and Miao Xuanxuan holding onto her, resting their heads on her arms, sleeping soundly.
Damn! What’s going on? How did this happen? Song Xiaodong’s mind seemed momentarily overwhelmed.
Thinking carefully, Song Xiaodong remembered that during the night, Miao Xuanxuan got up to use the restroom and then came back to crawl in bed next to her.
She had been half-asleep, thinking it was all a dream, so she let Miao Xuanxuan do as she pleased.
Having reasoned it out, Song Xiaodong was a bit unsure about how to handle the situation. It seemed appropriate to wake Miao Xuanxuan immediately and ask her to move over.
But such an opportunity was rare; holding onto both of them was too comfortable to let go willingly.
Still conflicted, Song Xiaodong was startled to see Miao Qingqing move. Her heart immediately raced, and she quickly lay still, pretending to be asleep.
Miao Qingqing actually did wake up and wanted to go to the restroom. Sensing Song Xiaodong sleeping soundly, she carefully pulled Song Xiaodong’s hand out from her pajama’s neckline.
Then, she slowly got up, but as she did, her movement halted and she stared dumbfounded at Miao Xuanxuan on Song Xiaodong’s other side.
At that moment, Miao Xuanxuan was lying on her side next to Song Xiaodong, head resting on her arm, even more deeply asleep.
What’s going on? Miao Qingqing’s expression suddenly turned sour, and her mind seemed to short-circuit.
Yet, being a calm individual, she didn’t immediately call out. Instead, she carefully analyzed the situation.
Could it be that Miao Xuanxuan had feelings for Song Xiaodong, or that they were involved? That’s why she was like this.
But Miao Qingqing quickly dismissed that idea. If that were the case, how could Miao Xuanxuan be so blatant about it? It must have been that Miao Xuanxuan, groggy after her nighttime bathroom trip, ended up sleeping next to Song Xiaodong.
Having worked out the key point, Miao Qingqing found herself in a dilemma: what should she do now? Should she wake them both up? Wouldn’t that be incredibly awkward?
Waking Miao Xuanxuan or Song Xiaodong wouldn’t be straightforward because waking one might wake the other, making the situation just as embarrassing. What a mess.
