Chapter 566: Chapter 567 Song Xiaoru is Captured
"Huh, where’s my sister?"
Two days later, when Song Xiaodong returned home, she didn’t see Song Xiaoru.
"Sister Xiaoru went downstairs to buy some stuff, it seems we ran out of vinegar," Miao Qingqing said casually without looking up from her computer.
Song Xiaodong said, "Then give me a call, I could have brought it up."
Miao Qingqing replied, "You’re quite busy these days yourself, who knows when you’ll be back. Yingying and Xuanxuan are playing games, and I have some things to deal with here, so she went by herself."
Song Xiaodong said, "Let’s go out in a bit and buy more household items, so we don’t have to go out all the time."
"But it seems it has already been twenty minutes, why hasn’t Sister Xiaoru come back yet?" Miao Qingqing glanced at the computer’s clock and made an offhand comment.
"She probably got distracted by something else," Song Xiaodong said nonchalantly and then took out her phone, adding, "I’ll give my sister a call."
The call went through, but shockingly, it was switched off.
"Why is it turned off?" Song Xiaodong furrowed her brow, then said, "I’ll go out and have a look."
Purchasing a bottle of vinegar obviously didn’t require a trip elsewhere; Song Xiaodong went straight to the small supermarket inside the residential complex and directly asked the staff if they had seen Song Xiaoru.
Song Xiaoru, being the beautiful woman that she was, was remembered by the young man manning the cash register, who promptly said, "She bought a bottle of vinegar and left, and that was over ten minutes ago. But right as she stepped out the door, she took a phone call."
Song Xiaodong suddenly had a bad feeling. Song Xiaoru got a call and then turned off her phone—it was very likely that something had gone wrong.
Rushing to the entrance of the residential complex, Song Xiaodong hastily asked the security guard, but he hadn’t noticed anything. It was a busy time, and he didn’t know when Song Xiaoru had left.
Song Xiaodong quickly checked the surveillance footage at the property manager’s office. Since it hadn’t been long, she soon saw that Song Xiaoru had left through the main gate of the complex, walked a few steps to the right, and then left the range of the camera’s vision, after which she was no longer visible.
Taking a deep breath, Song Xiaodong called Miao Qingqing, "Qingqing, I think something might have happened to my sister."
Miao Qingqing immediately cried out in shock, "What?"
At that moment, Song Xiaodong forced herself to stay calm and said, "It’s just a hunch for now, still unconfirmed. Keep your phones on, and if my sister comes back, call me right away. I’ll keep looking around here."
"Alright! Don’t overthink it, perhaps Sister Xiaoru just bumped into an acquaintance and stopped for a chat."
Of course, Song Xiaodong hoped what Miao Qingqing said was true, but she knew Song Xiaoru too well. If such a situation really occurred, Song Xiaoru would have called home first to keep anyone from worrying.
Song Xiaoru indeed met with trouble. She had been kidnapped by Sun Sixteen and Sun Eighteen who, under the guise of delivering a parcel, beckoned her outside. Then, with the distraction of vehicles in the front and back, before Song Xiaoru knew what was happening, she was dragged into a car. Then, a cloth doused with an anesthetic was pressed over her mouth and nose, and she quickly lost consciousness.
By the time Song Xiaoru regained consciousness, she was already in a room. Opening her eyes, she saw a man sitting by the bed watching her, none other than Sun Zi’ang, who had visited her home the other day.
Springing up, Song Xiaoru felt a wave of dizziness and shouted, "What do you want to do?"
With a glass of red wine in his hand, Sun Zi’ang gave it a slight swirl and said, "I only knew you were Song Xiaodong’s sister and didn’t look into you closely. I really didn’t expect that kid to have such a beautiful sister."
"You... you’d better let me go now, or my brother won’t let you off," Song Xiaoru said as she slipped off the bed, steadying herself against the bedpost as her body swayed, almost falling over.
Sun Zi’ang’s face turned stern as he said, "You’re threatening me? Do you really think your brother is all-powerful? I can tell you with confidence, in my eyes, your brother is nothing but trash. He dared to take liberties with my fiancée, and I’m going to toy with him until he’s dead."
Song Xiaoru’s face turned ugly, and through clenched teeth she asked, "What exactly do you want?"
"What do I want? Haha, you don’t know how powerful the Sun family is. You really think his fighting skills and medical knowledge make him so great? Let me tell you, no matter how capable he is, he’s still just one person. The Sun family has countless ways to kill him. I can make him lose everything, leave him no place even to cry."
Song Xiaoru’s face grew even grimmer. The more she encountered people with resources and connections, the more she understood just how terrifying they were. They weren’t the sort of people you could provoke with merely a hot temper.
Seeing Song Xiaoru’s pale face, Sun Zi’ang smiled faintly and asked, "So, do you want to save your brother’s life or not?"
"What do you want?" Song Xiaoru looked at Sun Zi’ang warily.
The corners of Sun Zi’ang’s mouth turned up as he said, "Quite simple, actually. Serve me well, make me comfortable, and maybe I’ll feel good enough to let your brother go."
"No way!" Song Xiaoru rejected him without a second’s hesitation.
"You’re sure you want to make that decision?" Sun Zi’ang’s expression grew colder.
Song Xiaoru took a deep breath and clenched her fists, "You better not lay a finger on me, or my brother will surely kill you. It doesn’t matter which Sun family you belong to—if he wants to find you, there’s nowhere on Earth you can hide."
"Such big talk. Well, I’m going to touch you anyway. What can you do about it?" said Sun Zi’ang, closing in on Song Xiaoru.
Song Xiaoru panicked and barked, "Don’t you dare!"
"What would I be afraid of? In my world, there’s nothing I don’t dare to do," Sun Zi’ang said as he lunged at Song Xiaoru.
Song Xiaoru let out a scream and scrambled onto the bed, trying to escape.
Sun Zi’ang swiftly grabbed her leg, and Song Xiaoru fell onto the bed.
"Haha... So eager to get on the bed, are you? Well, I’ll accommodate you," Sun Zi’ang laughed and pounced on the fallen Song Xiaoru.
Desperate, Song Xiaoru rolled over, trying to get away, but the room was so small, Sun Zi’ang quickly caught one of her arms.
Without thinking, Song Xiaoru grabbed the wine bottle from the bedside table and smashed it over Sun Zi’ang’s head.
"Ah!" Sun Zi’ang screamed as blood and wine flowed down his head.
"Damn it, no woman has ever dared to hit me!" Sun Zi’ang flew into a rage and lunged at Song Xiaoru again.
Song Xiaoru suddenly raised her hand, pointing the jagged end of the remaining bottle at her own neck and shouted, "Don’t come any closer, or I’ll kill myself right before your eyes!"
