Chapter 387: Chapter 388: Those Who Insult My Sister... Die

Monday was an extraordinary day for Qingyuan Group. It could very well be the day everything changed. From the moment work started in the morning, everyone was paying close attention to the company forum, as well as any small sign or wind of change within the company.

Sitting in his office, Song Xiaodong was swinging his Erlang’s legs, drinking tea, looking completely relaxed and indifferent, as if all the events had nothing to do with him.

Su Yao, on the other hand, was nervously staring at her computer screen, constantly refreshing the company’s forum. There were markedly more posts than usual today—nobody seemed in the mood for work, just waiting to see whether the chairman would be replaced.

"Dongzi, how can you be so calm?" Su Yao asked, frowning.

"What’s there to be nervous about," Song Xiaodong replied without even lifting his head.

"That’s your girlfriend we’re talking about. If the chairman goes down, you’ll be ostracized in the company from now on."

"It’s just a job, no need to be so tense about it."

With a worried expression, Su Yao said, "It’s easy for you not to care. Even if your girlfriend isn’t the chairman anymore, you’ll still have the shares, and you’ll still be rich. But if you’re not in the company, nobody will protect me. I won’t even talk about future prospects; even staying in the company will be an issue."

Song Xiaodong chuckled and said, "Heh, don’t worry, nothing’s going to happen."

Seeing Song Xiaodong’s confident demeanor, Su Yao couldn’t shake off her unease. She had also been doing her own research on the company’s recent developments. Miao Qingqing really didn’t have the upper hand in the company, and this time, Su Yuanhe came prepared, seemingly easy to take down Miao Qingqing from her chairman position.

Just then, the office door was pushed open, and a group of people walked in. The person in the middle was Zhao Dongliang, flanked by several mid-level company leaders, along with two burly security guards.

Su Yao’s heart tightened. Zhao Dongliang had been made a fool by Song Xiaodong a few days prior and hadn’t shown up at the company since then. His high-profile presence today was clearly a move for revenge against Song Xiaodong.

The initial conflict between Song Xiaodong and Zhao Dongliang started because Zhao had harassed her. Now that Zhao had gained power, besides settling the score with Song Xiaodong, he was sure to target her as well.

"Well! Might as well leave if it comes to that. I can’t fall into Zhao Dongliang’s clutches." Su Yao decided quickly in her heart. One Zhao Dongliang was not worth so much. She wouldn’t attach herself to Zhao for the sake of a job and career prospects. If it were someone like Song Xiaodong, she might be more willing.

"Song Xiaodong, do you know why I’m here?" Zhao Dongliang asked with a sneer.

Suddenly standing, Song Xiaodong looked at Zhao Dongliang, who immediately retreated behind the two security guards and barked, "Kid, I’m telling you, after today, this company will be under my uncle’s control... you’re going to be ousted."

Narrowing his eyes, Song Xiaodong slowly asked, "Where did you get that confidence from?"

"Ha... You’re still in denial, aren’t you? Do you think your backer can still hold her ground in this company? Once Miao Qingqing is toppled, her assistant, which is your sister, will she be able to stay in the company? Without any backing, just by yourself, I can do whatever I want to you, haha..."

Zhao Dongliang laughed triumphantly.

Lighting a cigarette and taking his time, Song Xiaodong said, "Is that so? Well, let me tell you, after today, there will be no place for you in this company anymore."

"Ha... You sure talk big, kid. I’ll give you a chance now. If you kneel down and kowtow to me three times, I might consider sparing you."

Grinning, Song Xiaodong said, "Even if you kowtow to me three times, I wouldn’t keep you in the company."

Zhao Dongliang’s face darkened as he spoke, "Kid, do you really think you still have a chance? One should know oneself. You don’t even have that, I don’t know how you’ve survived this far."

At that moment, a man beside Zhao Dongliang gave a lecherous smile and said, "Manager Zhao, once your uncle becomes the chairman, you could become his assistant. As for the current assistant... she really is pretty. If, heh heh..."

Slapping his thigh, Zhao said, "Exactly, exactly. Song Xiaodong, your sister is quite beautiful. Once I become the chairman’s assistant, I’ll reluctantly let her be my woman. Then you’ll be my cheap brother-in-law, and I won’t take issue with you."

Song Xiaodong’s expression suddenly darkened. Zhao Dongliang had touched a raw nerve, basically seeking his own death. Yet the man, oblivious, continued to laugh, "Imagine, that Song Xiaoru... she really has a certain charm. I’ve always wanted to get her into bed. I never had a chance before, but now she can’t escape, haha..."

Zhao Dongliang was in the midst of laughter, but it abruptly stopped because Song Xiaodong had appeared in front of him seemingly out of nowhere.

Frightened to the point of nearly wetting himself, Zhao hastily retreated, yelling, "Don’t you dare touch me today, I’ll teach you the meaning of death."

"Now... I’ll show you the meaning of death!" Song Xiaodong hissed through clenched teeth. Raising his hand, he grabbed the collar of the sleazy man who had mentioned his sister and lifted the grown man of a hundred and forty or fifty pounds above his head with one arm.

The man flailed wildly in the air, screaming in terror.

Zhao Dongliang and his entourage, including the burly security guards, paled with fear. The strength it took to lift a man with one hand, and with such ease, was terrifying.

"No one! Is allowed to insult my sister!" Song Xiaodong spat out the words, then swung his arm, slamming the man heavily onto the ground.

"Crack!" The man emitted a strange sound and then lay motionless on the ground, as though Song Xiaodong had just thrown him to his death.

Advancing towards Zhao Dongliang, Zhao urgently backed away, shouting, "Quick! Stop him!"

"Anyone who wants to die, come on up," Song Xiaodong said coolly, stopping the group in their tracks, including the two muscular security guards. They all sensed Song Xiaodong’s danger. Flattering Zhao Dongliang had its importance, but not at the cost of their lives for the sake of a job.
